  1. You think the Dolphin players are calling him 'Master' instead of 'coach'?

    :)  :(   :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

He definately has his hands full....It's a very sticky situation he is in. Im sure he will be beating the bush looking for a few up and comers to help that team.

  2. I live in Rochester. I got it framed at The Great Frameup, where I get everything done. They have done a great number of jerseys, and they can handle the oversize, the stitching, etc. I used plexiglass to cut down on the weight.

What did they charge approximately, for frame and matting?

  3. Tom,

I imagine you have a lot of stuff in your archives, that would make for a great bio.

He has been honored with numerous awards, such as the Pete Rozell Award from the Touchdown Club in New Orleans, the NFL Alumni's "Order of the Leather Helmet" and the "Timmie" Award from the Touchdown Club of Washington D.C., but none were more appropriate than the Buffalo News naming him the "Tops Sports Figure" in Western New York in the past millennium.

Can anyone get the text from these clubs, perhaps the actual presentation speeches or any other news accounts?

  4. Here is his resume:  Ralph Wilson

Thats a great start, but I think we need more than that, there are plenty of behind the scenes things that could help. As you mentioned, Al Davis was out of money and was on the brink of folding during the season, couldnt even pay the players, Ralph helped him out, and kept the original franchises going. We may need more of that type of examples to show the HOF voters that he has been more than a money hungry owner (see Davis, Jerry Jones). He is actually all about the sport. He had every right to pull up stakes and bail on Buffalo in the bad years, he didnt because it would affect the NFL. We need to dig folks, start googling.....

  5. Great to finally meet you guys, I had a great weekend, just the perfect way to end it with that game. Sorry I missed out on the happy hour, but just had to see the Falls and try the casinos. Thanks again for setting up the stadium tour, absolutely the highlight of the weekend!!!!

  6. I think JetBlue has the idea with the TV for every seat. The diversion  of the TV makes the flight better. They fly into Rochester, surprised they don't go to Buffalo as well.

The only problem is they cut the sound for announcements, which always come when there are Bills highlights on ESPN, or during a good part of the show u are trying to watch....pisses me off to no end, especially when the pilot is just yammering away about how happy he is to have us there and to relax......sit back......and enjoy.....the in flight TV service.......from Capt Bob..... and the Crew....Tom from Kentucky.... Bill from NEw york.....Cheryl, .....our head bathroom attendant......."

I will go ballistic one day when they do that....

  7. Well, I had 20 hot wings yesterday, and 4 or 5 draft beers. My insides are about to dissolve, and I need to go drop a major stevestojan.  I will miss you all, but I should be back in oh about 10 - 15 minutes. I have made this decision based on the fact that if i sit here any longer, I might crap my pants. Thanks for all the memories. I hope you remember me when I get back in 15.

    Thanks.

    Go Bills.

    And you are....???

  8. What a putz that guy was, at first it was amusing, but as he was running, the cop came out of the stairwell, and the guy knew he was caught, but in a move made famous by the Darwin awards, instead of accepting that he made a fool of himself in front of 65K people, he decides to jump down to the next level. I just hope the people on the lower level werent hurt.

  9. I was going steady with a girl I worked with at Sears (I was stockroom, she was children's dept.) in my senior year of high school and through the summer after graduation.  Her father had died a few years earlier in a house fire.  I went to college out of town and we kept the relationship going long distance (being the naive youth I was).  I had met a girl at college my first couple weeks there, and we really liked each other, but I told her I still had a girlfriend back home I cared about so we stopped hanging out with each other.  A couple months later I got the "Dear John" letter.  She had started going out with the guy at Sears who was hired to replace me, and who I had trained.  It turned out that her mother had died from a heart attack and she and her two sisters were now without both parents, and she needed a shoulder to cry on.  I met with her one last time to try to get her back, but it was too late.  And by that time the girl I had met at college was going out with someone else.  It still hurts when I think about it all these years later.

Ouch, that hurts, but the good news, 24 years later, he is still a stock boy at Sears, and after 4 kids and 69 pounds, she was promoted to Womans wear at Sears.

  10. I was probably shooting for parking across from Hammers by 9 am, I usually park at Hammers, or across the street on those side streets which allow for a quick right turn to get me to the airport. We will definately make the Pinto part of the day, and we will go to the fieldhouse for a little while. Hope to meet up with you early, I'll bring my Gatorade
