  1. My sentiments exactly.
  2. no argument from me there. I'm not criticizing the system being designed for him, I'm just calling into question the quality of instruction coming from these people. I'm not sure this is the crew I would have wanted bringing up a young and raw quarterback. I still believe he has long-term potential but this is absolutely the right move right now.
  3. He looked like a real dumb-ass. Wait, which person are we talking about here?
  4. I don't know, what happens? Most likely if he can do what he does successfully and listen to his boss, he'll be fine. Russ does not strike me as the kind of guy who is going to take a lot of issue with more resources being provided to bring in top-shelf talent and facilities on the football side.
  5. Hopefully they'll give Polian the #1 overall pick or a terrific QB dropped in his lap. I'm not going to say the man is not shrewd or that he doesn't have a record of success, but the Colts teams he assembled sans Manning were pretty worrisome, especially on defense.
  6. I think it's pretty unreasonable to say 6-7. 4-5, possibly. We haven't seen Garropolo, Carr is no great shakes yet and now is injured badly, and Manziel is going to be a total wild card when he sees the field, though he is a higher upside talent IMO.
  7. That's actually really foolish given the resources you need to devote to the position. You're no better for passing on the next Tom Brady than you are for passing on the next Antonio Gates, or more realistically, the kind of depth you need at positions like LB and OL to survive in the NFL. You build your team and there are usually only 3 quarterback slots at best, with only one of them on the field at any given time. Every other year could make sense, especially given injuries, and I would probably not go longer than every 3.
  8. Or something taken from him by the many offensive gurus in the fold. If just one of Downing, Marrone or Hackett had a little more success in the background I would feel a lot more confident about EJ's chances going forward.
  9. Really? Is saying that there are multiple factors in the loss so frickin' incompatible with the idea that EJ was the greatest factor? Give me a break. Everybody in the locker room needs to look in the mirror and ask what they could have done better. That includes Keith Rivers, who inexplicably didn't lay a hand on a back who was short of the first down, then took advantage.
  10. It can. But that wouldn't satisfy people who are hell-bent on explaining to the world that he'll never be a good NFL QB and that they know this and everyone should always listen to them. I mean, somebody needs to think of these fans and their needs.
  11. What are we, 8 years old? Man up and punch a teammate in the face? Do you get your worldview from playing rounds of Double Dragon? Jesus. PS: if this is a joke, well done.
  12. I'm not going to speak to your experience. It's terrific that you've found the things that you feel make you and others mentally strong and tough. I'm only going to say that I think it's a mistake to suggest that there is only one path there, and that it is a trait that can't be developed. Feeling down about your work is a natural situation and it can be addressed. I don't think it's coddling, it's just another part of coaching. BTW, let's call up some Brady sulking photos, because they refute your point, but also because they are always funny.
  13. I think the idea that he can move is supposed to be a part of the picture but they've been pretty clear that they want him to be a pocket passer. I am not saying I think that's the best idea -- I think it's actually causing him to be less instinctive and to overthink his play -- but they really were preaching fast-pace, three-step drops, not a lot of read option.
  14. The defense that busted to give up the Hopkins TD, or the defense that didn't touch a receiver while he was down and extended a late 4th quarter possession for the Texas?
  15. That was weird right? I got what I felt was an excessive time out after slugging my brother once.
  16. You should nuke some popcorn and go back to that 6-3 Browns game.
  17. I can't believe that you can't believe people here are surprised.
  18. I'm not rushing to defend anyone. I'm rushing to clear up an obvious misconception. In any case, your mind seems made up, so... congrats?
  19. Sure, if it makes you feel good to say it. Let it all out. It's not your fault.
  20. You think Tom Brady doesn't utilize a therapist? I'm sure he does, and he probably laughs his mentally weak ass all the way to the bank. All sorts of successful people do, and it frequently has little to do with the "amount of adversity" they've dealt with. Also, re: adversity, why don't you read up on EJ's senior season and come back to this one?
