  1. It means he's not going to take a guy not ready to contribute right away, like Maybin, Pierre-Paul, Anthony Davis. My guess would be the pick is between Spiller and Dan Williams, if Okung and Trent Williams are gone. Impossible to know if Clausen is the pick because it will totally depend on Gailey and Nix being sold on Clausen's intangibles.

And if he takes Pierre-Paul or Davis, will your reaction be that they are ready to contribute right away or that Nix made a mistake?

  2. I am positive at least Wendling didn't fail a physical and get cut, he just got straight up let go.

He did fail a physical. Hence the reason he hasn't been signed by anyone yet.

He had knee surgery after the season for what seemed to be a major problem. There was an article on the front page last week from the Laramie Boomerang detailing it.

  3. From about two minutes ago:

    Ben (Michigan)

Who do you think will draft Dan LeFevour and in what round?

    Mel Kiper

I could see him going in the second round. He's my fourth best QB. He really helped himself in the Senior Bowl practices. He has a good enough arm. He has adequate mobility. Very smart. Loves to study film. I've compared him to Chad Pennington.

  4. Sometimes, it's hard to understand this board. If LeFevour had a huge arm, he'd be a first-round prospect. The only reason he's in the discussion in the 3rd is because of his lack of ideal arm strength. A poor pro day could drop him down to the 5th. But does that mean he's a bad pick altogether, even with one of our sevenths? No.

  5. The Depth Chart is the same as last year with Andra Davis, Cornell Green and Dwan Edwards, Minus Terrell Owens. Levitre, Wood, and Byrd with a year experience. Leodis McKelvin added to one of the best secondaries in the NFL, also back returning kicks.

A better head coach. I see a 7-9 to 8-8 team still because of QB.

Minus Denney, Wendling and Josh Reed. We'd be lucky to compete in the MAC

  6. Over exaggeration of the situation...Brohm was put on practice squad at a time where teams were completely set at QB with the season about to start. Its not very common for teams to add a QB at the point barring an injury because the QB essentially will be so far behind, especially one thats never played, that he would take a spot from someone else that could contribute.

That argument goes both ways - it's not very common for teams to add a QB at that point because quality QBs that teams see value in having on their roster are not often cut at that point.

Here's a list of the final roster cuts. If you look at the QBs, that's not a group Brohm wants to be associated with:

  7. In order to be placed on the practice squad, you have to be released and clear waivers. Nobody claimed him.

While on the practice squad, you can be signed by any team. No team signed him for ten weeks until the Bills did.

So, it's a lot more than MacCarthy passing on him. Every team in the NFL in essence said they didn't want him on their roster.

  8. That's because WNY's been in a recession for 25 years. Sorry, couldn't resist.

I was about to say the jobless rate didn't spike here because it was already way higher than the national average. Hard to show an area lost jobs when there weren't many to begin with.

If you take the time to read the stories, you'll see the unemployment rates are below the national average.
