I think Tippy started out with very stupid but genuine threads but has seen his responses and now is just trolling. Taking offense at Allen “modeling.” He’s either a literal child or a I can’t say the word.

Then why do you read them? Is it so you can just flap your negative mouth?

  2. Thanks for your participation Beck Water. Look, I don’t want to be enemies with anyone, it boils down to this, the couple of pictures I posted Josh’s poses look ridiculous to me. Period. Anybody who has a problem with that is simply their problem, not mine. Everybody has a right to their opinion, if people don’t like or agree with mine that’s fine but what gives the people the right to personally attack somebody? That’s wrong. I know that the majority of posters here wouldn’t have the guts to say half the stuff they say to and about somebody to their face. Hiding behind a keyboard is pretty gutless. I just don’t get it when people here get so riled up over a post or thread. If it’s that disturbing to them then why don’t they just not read it? I don’t ever insult anyone here, regardless of what I think of them or their opinions. Once in a while I may respond and laugh at some when their mouth gets too big but even that is rarely. Such hate around here, it’s really pathetic. The more that they pile on only fuels me to feed the animals at the zoo all the more. If I said a fraction of what people say to and about me I’d get banned or penalized. This is a message board, people are suppose to post their opinion regardless if others dislike or disagree with it as long as they act proper.

Good ol'Tippy however, just cant help himself

I thought that you promised that you would go away? What happened? It absolutely amazes me that the people who hate me and/or hate what I post just keep on coming back. Lol! Why would someone do that to themselves??

If there was any evidence of declining performance then maybe Tipster would have a point.  But there isn't.  So its just pure speculation of the baseless variety which was then backtracked into some statement of his discomfort with Josh's poses or outfit. That type of thing will draw criticism, as it should.

Jauronimo, currently you’re correct except for me back tracking. This has been my opinion right from the beginning of this post. I’m going to ask you directly, do you think Josh is starting to act out of character from his previous 5 years with the Bills? I’ll respect your opinion either way you answer this.

Do you ever get tired of your thoughts and threads being roundly thrashed? Or do you take some type of enjoyment from that. I’m just trying to understand the motivation. To this point, you have 25 negative reactions, and 7 people who just laughed. Nothing positive.

No. I don’t care what other people think or say, it’s their right to have their own opinion. I don’t allow others to influence my thinking for me. If I provide an outlet for others to berate me and flex their internet muscles then I’m ok with that because none of you matter in the grand scheme of things. What I find hysterical is how bent out of shape people get with what I say. People should really get a better life because being vile and mean spirited is a terrible way to live one’s life. To each their own I guess.

  6. Let me clarify myself a little more. As my “friend” Jauronimo kindly pointed out the title of this thread was misrepresented, kudos to him. I’m all for Josh having a great exciting life, charity softball, Kentucky Derby’s, prestigious golf tournaments, etc etc. I’m all FOR it! Josh has earned every bit of it and I’m EXTREMELY happy for him, he deserves and earned every bit of it. What I’m referring to is the stark change to his perceived image, right, wrong or indifferent. All of a sudden he’s in a break up with his childhood beau, rumored that he plowed a Buffalo barmaid and got her pregnant and the sudden modeling in popsicle suits. Sorry, I don’t like the direction that he appears to be heading, it just seems out of character for him. Furthermore I don’t doubt that when the football flies he’ll still be physical but I want his image to stay intact. Call me whatever you want because I think that I more than proven that I don’t care what any of you think and your opinion of me. I’ve been on this message board a long time and what I have witnessed is that they’re far too many of you that think that they can say and do anything they want towards others. I guarantee that you won’t find too many times where I have totally came out and insulted others. In the few times that I have acted negative towards others was in response, I NEVER initiated it. Do you know why? It’s because I’m a staunch believer in that if I’m not man enough to say it to your face then I’m not going to be a weasel enough to hide behind a keyboard. My only wish is that I would like to see more people follow this philosophy but then again I’ve always been accused of being a dreamer…

Not that your OP made much sense, but it was at least coherent.

This post has now started circling the toilet and your comebacks have digressed into you just typing random words?

You arent even talking about fashion, or what Josh's favorite color is, or how you heard he feels about what you heard his girlfriends favorite color is and how that makes you feel.... and does that help HER break tackles any better???????

I havent a clue how one could asertain someone is starting to 'stutter' or why hitting an edit button to fix a typo so that you can better comprehend is considered an insult by you - but consider me effectively insulted. You got me good that time Tipster, what a zinger!

Ok my friend... at this point, you are just making yourself look silly.

Its not huring me in anyway, so I'll back off and you just let your freak flag fly.

Enjoy your afternoon and I'll just keep an eye out for your next post about Bass and his 1 eye black strip.

    I...cant....wait.....

    Blah, blah, blah. Shoo fly.

Like what is this post really even talking about here? Getting tackled easier because the dude put some thought into how he looks?

The 1st name basis of his girlfriend and then the presumed take on their relationship is a bit of a weird look too....

With all the change and terrible posts around here these days, its gotta be tough when people are gunning for your job.

After all, there can only be one court jester, only one village idiot.

Call it what you want, and regardless of what you post and/or how silly it may be, there is one thought I'm always left with that I'll never understand.

Its like the old man who calls 550 and wants to scream and yell about the team, and then cant name the players he had an issue with. Or perhaps its what he thinks happened didnt actually happen. This is all to say, how can people be 'fans' to the extent they want to call a radio station and complain OR take time out of their (busy?) day to go to a message board and start a topic, but have little to no clue what they are actually talking about?

It's almost like they want the life of a sports fan.... but just dont quite grasp how to do it.

I dunno, its all pretty silly. If hes playing great but isnt doing things like this you can say 'why isnt he getting attention'?

He finally gets the attention, but then isnt the best in the game it turns into 'he needs to stop focusing on xxxxx and just play football'.

Were there issues with Stef and the Met Gala too?

At the end of the day, what does 1 person having an issue with Allen's itinarary matter? What makes you qualified to criticize it?

What made you want to come here and think this was a good enought thought or opinion to share with everyone else?

Was it for attention? Was it for getting a kick out of seeing people chime in a topic you started?

Sometimes posts like this make me wish the team would start their own message board and the crazyness migrated over there.

I cant even imagine what this place would be like. I'll bet it would be one of the best and most intelligent places to discuss Bills football on all the interwebs...

    A guy can wish....

Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to post this! The amazing thing is you didn’t even have to edit your response, it looks like you did it all in one breath. Nice job! Speaking of Diggs I LOVE his play but personally I don’t like him. Respond with something about that, I’d love to hear your take unless of course you’re too busy.

  11. I’m big on Josh Allen, love his competitive nature, amazed by his abilities but it seems like since the Britney split he’s going pretty deep on posing and modeling. I’ll admit that he looked great at the Kentucky Derby but his poses are a little too much for my liking and now I just a post on IG for caps and it was like this guy thinks he’s a model now. Sorry, don’t like it, flame me all you want but I just want him to concrete on being a rough and tough QB who plows through defenders, not a guy sitting in a armchair posing waiting on GQ to give him a call. The clothes and such are nice but truth be told the only thing that I want to see him modeling is a Super Bowl ring.

Let’s objectively analyze the approaches taken by both the Underpants gnomes and by you.

We can define #3, profit, the same way for both.  I’ll even give the Oliver crowd a bit of a break as I think you should,  Profit is revenue-cost.  We'll get to that in a minute as although I think you’re calculating the cost of Oliver correctly from a technical standpoint, you are calculating it incorrectly from a practical standpoint.  Given the definition of profit we’re employing we can proceed.

    Step 1

    Underpants Gnomes:

Step 1 for the gnomes is stealing underpants.  This establishes the cost of the underpants as near zero.  The only costs involved are the labor expended on the theft and the cost of the inventory.  In the episode, the gnomes look as if they have nothing better to do than steal the underpants and they appear to live in large caves with plenty of space and no rent so the inventory cost is negligible.  In effect their cost is zero.

    You:

You’ve established our cost of Oliver as the first round pick we used, his 2023 cap hit plus the third round comp pick we won’t get if we trade or release him.  Releasing him gets us nothing in return for those costs other than the cap hit relief.  In order to profit from a trade, the value you seek needs to exceed your established cost.  I’d argue that you should not include the first round status as part of your cost because we’ve already received three years of play in return.  You don’t feel that play has been up to snuff, but even if it is a bad return, it is still a return.  In addition, we cannot go back in time and undo the pick.  Those costs are what is known as “sunk”.  I think in establishing whether a trade is “profitable” it should only be required to exceed the value of a 2024 3rd rounder plus the lost production we’d get from Oliver in 2023.

    Step 2

    Underpants gnomes:

They appear clueless about how to proceed and achieve profit.  The obvious choice would be to sell the underpants and take whatever money they could get.  It would probably be a small number, but given the zero cost, a 100% margin.  Their problem is there isn’t really a market for used underpants.  If I were a management consultant employed by the gnomes I’d point out that they have already resorted to theft, which is wrong, but as long as they were doing that, they should steal piggy banks instead of underpants.  This way they could skip step 2 altogether. I would congratulate the gnomes on their objective and enthusiastic approach to their business despite its current lack of success.  Perhaps some day they will find a solution.

    You:

if you agree that the cost of Oliver is a 2024 third plus his potential 2023 production, we can proceed.  When Oliver is gone we instantly receive the opportunity to repurpose his cap $ for 2023 so that would be at least part of the return.  I think you’re saying we could get more production from the use of those $ on other players either traded for or signed than from Oliver.  You haven’t named any players that I’ve seen but we can leave that to the side.  You haven’t named a team that would take Oliver and pay more than the 2024 third we’d already get.  You can’t really give an example of a player that has garnered more.  As a matter of fact, the most recent trade of a player in Oliver’s age range and relative status was D’Andre Swift, who netted a 2025 4th.  You’ve also left out how we’d utilize the $ saved on Oliver.  In a way you have more ??????? than the gnomes but still require higher standards.  If I were a management consultant employed by you, I’d quit.

    Overall summary:

Both you and the Underpants Gnomes want to achieve profit and neither can figure out how.

The gnomes have stalled in their attempt.  They realize they are stalled but continue to enthusiastically try to solve their problem.

You have a conundrum similar to the gnomes as there is no real solution to the problem as you’ve defined it.  In your own words, rather than maintaining enthusiasm in the pursuit of an answer, you’ve resorted to emotionally “pounding the table”.

I’d say neither you nor the gnomes are likely to achieve your goals without resetting them or changing the approach.  It appears the gnomes have a better chance at success because of their slightly better use of logic and immensely better attitude.  Just my opinion though.

This is so freaking hysterical…..and intelligent! Thanks for this great response, it’s worth putting up with all the muck to discover a gem like you.

Now in response to your response. I didn’t pick Oliver nor am I going to be the one to decide who his successor is going to be. All I did was suggest that a return on the investment should be considered more intently than what I perceived with what the past has shown. To be specific it looks like Poona would be the replacement to me. Once again that was decided by the higher ups. Btw, I believe that I could achieve profit if given the opportunity but I’m not. I can’t do it being a casual fan, I would need the same resources as the powers to be have.

It’s no secret that this franchise has found themselves cashed strapped by the league’s regulations. Removing Oliver off the books now but more importantly in the near future  is a form of compensation in it’s own rite. The reference that the gnomes are using slightly better logic than me strikes me as a contradiction. There is no logic in fear, which I believe is the case of the majority of opinions in not moving Oliver.

Last but not lease, in your analytical way you stated that if you were to work for me you’d quit, correct? To accuse me of being emotional, which btw you would be correct, there are 2 things that I would like to say in response to that accusation. The first thing is that that is not intelligent but more so logical to come to that conclusion because like I said before I’m just a fan which is short for fanatical and fanatical is a good description of emotional imo. Secondly, you stated that you would quit if you were to work for me. That’s an emotional reaction without knowing or stating what I would be paying you. Decisions can and are influenced by compensation. To take it further you would have to be hired before you could quit and that is called an assumption and we all know where that word came from.

In closing I must say that you gave one of the best responses that I have ever seen on this board. Thanks!

Ya I don’t see the reason behind it, just genuinely curious why people want to trade him.

I can’t see a scenario where it would make the team better if they traded him

I’m not clamoring to trade Oliver because I have a personal vendetta and/or to trade him just to trade him without a plan. I’ve been pounding the table now about getting a return on a high price asset. I found myself realizing this in the hindsight of Tremaine Edmunds walking out the door and getting nothing in return. If getting a compensatory pick as compensation for a high 1st rd draft pick works for you then fine but it doesn’t work for me.

One other note. I watched Sal Capaccio the other night and he stated something that I found interesting. At no time under McDermott’s watch have we kept more than 4 DTs on the roster. We currently have 5.

  14. I would love to see the Bills make a trade for him. I checked what the Ravens are still in need of and DT was one of the positions of need. Now that the Bills signed Poona Ford could Ed Oliver be expendable in some kind trade for Queen? I don’t know what would be fair compensation in a trade scenario involving these 2 but I’m not against the concept if it were to materialize.

  15. I read these responses and it only strengthens my point. Edmunds wasn’t good enough to extend and wasn’t good enough to trade but people are apparently satisfied that “we got 5 years” out of a 1st rd pick that we actually moved up in the draft to take?? Do I got that right?? What am I missing here?! I can understand that every draft pick, even 1st rders, don’t always work out but I do expect for the GM to recognize that long before the player’s contract runs out. Letting a 3rd, 4th or a 5th rder go is much more palatable than just losing out on a mid 1st rder altogether. Now here we are in potentially the same type of situation with Oliver. I’m curious, what is the resolution with him? Do the Bills let him walk as well and hope for a compensatory pick or do we extend him? I would like to think that a 9th overall pick should be worth more than just 5 at best average years of service or a possible compensatory pick. If we don’t want to keep him, and that should have been decided long before the end of his contract, then I would like to get something for him in a trade, that’s all I’m saying.

  16. I didn’t agree or liked that the Bills traded up in the 1st rd for Edmunds and then just let him walk without receiving some kind of compensation for him. Now there’s Oliver and as far as I can tell there’s been no movement with him on a new contract. I think it’s crazy that a team would invest a 1st rd pick and then they don’t extend him or get anything back for him. A player and/or a first rd pick, these are assets. There’s times that I think that Beane isn’t too shrewd with the Pegulas’ money. I don’t believe that the Bills are going to extend Oliver and I’m ok with that but man get some kind of return for him, don’t just let him walk, the guy was the 9th overall pick for Pete’s sakes! If they already know that they’re not going to keep him then please trade him for something! If they do then hopefully they trade him during the draft so they can improve their 1st rd pick for a good player.

We are now going into the 6th draft of the McBeane partnership. In that timeframe they have certainly shown that they have a type of prospect they look for in the first round.

Since 2018, every first draft pick has:

    1. Been 21 years old or younger

    2. Had two years of solid college production (Rousseau is the one exception but Covid complicated this)

    3. Had clean medicals

    4. Had a top 30 visit. We do not have all visits reported so this will not disqualify for this exercise.

With these parameters, we can make a good guess of who Beane is targeting. We will break it down position by position. I will not be considering players like Jalen Carter, Bijon Robinson or Paris Johnson who are basically guaranteed to be gone.

    WR

    Fit: Jordan Addison

Excludes: JSN (production), Zay Flowers (age), Quentin Johnston (production), Hyatt (production)

    TE

    Fit: Michael Mayer

Excludes: Dalton Kincaid (medical, age), Darnell Washington (medical)

    OT

    Fit: Anton Harrison

Excludes: Matt Bergeron (age), Darnell Wright (production - he was awful in 2021 at LT)

    LB

    Fit: Trenton Simpson

Excludes: Jack Campbell (age), Drew Sanders (production)

    DL

    Mazi Smith

    Myles Murphy

Excludes: Bryan Bresee (medical), Calijah Kancey (age), Nolan Smith (age), Will McDonald (age), Keion White (age)

    Final Board

    1. Jordan Addison (top 30 visit confirmed)

Addison has it all. Just turned 21. Two years of production at two different schools. Can play in the slot or out wide. McDermott is close with Pitt coach Narduzzi. Clear role immediately in the offense. And a confirmed 30 visit. If he is there, I think that is guaranteed to be the pick.

    2. Mazi Smith (top 30 visit confirmed)

Though not my favorite pick, Beane was very honest in his pre draft presser that you are looking for someone who can contribute year 1 and become a starter by year 2. He also admitted that DT is a position where investments need to be made. Finally, he saw how our run defense nosedived against the Bengals with Jones out. It won’t be flashy pick but one Beane will justify.

    3. Anton Harrison (top 30 reported by walterfootball but no one else)

I think the Bills feel they can upgrade at Tackle but don’t need to with Brown. This pick would create a winner take all, loser to the swing tackle position battle between Harrison and Brown. In 2 years he would be a successor to Dawkins.

    4. Trenton Simpson

MLB is the most obvious hole in the team, but I’m just not sure the Bills see it as a must fill. I think they think someone will be available round 2 and so are ok waiting.

    5. Myles Murphy

Murphy is a tough player to figure out. Some people have him as a top 15 pick, some think he may fall out of the first round. If he does fall to this position, there is a good chance he is the pick but he may get nowhere close to us

    6. Michael Mayer

I just don’t think the Bills are going TE in round 1. A rd2 or 3 player seems more likely.

well thought out post, thanks for sharing. Go Bills!
