I want Ngata. The Oline wont gel for at least a year when we get decent people. At least with a good defense we can give them room to make mistakes.
-
ACor, the ignorance is being convinced there is no other way to go. I asked the question so people could discuss, not lobby for one person. Though I do enjoy your suggestion of.... oh yeah no one.

Confidence and trust in our GM.
Confidence and trust in our HC.
Confidence and trust in the O-line that they will get better.
Confidence and trust in the defense that they will be better in the future.
Confidence to Billieve in Jp. That he will be a good Qb and he will lead this team in the future.
We need to do these this first before we even think about reaching the playoffs.
Am I being Punk'd?

"The ONLY guy you trade up for in this draft is D'BRICK. PERIOD."
Blind faith= blind ignorance. How's that Mike Williams pick going for you. Stussy, I dont know what you're seeing in Losman. I didnt see anything at all from him all year that indicated he could ever be good.

Cutler is being thrown around as the top QB http://nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/9269708

fortunately Fantasy Points don't factor into getting into the playoffs. I don't care if he throws for 300+. I'd be happy with 200 with no INTS. Please stop equating fantasy numbers with being good. If you can't just get a life.

Just wondering. How would that affect us. Seriously Im getting tired about people insisting we MUST only take a DT/OL. The board has not had a correct consensus on who we would pick in recent memory. Couple of questions:
1-would you be willing to trade up for Young? he's raw but has much more promise that Losman
2-Should we really risk taking another high pick OL?
3-Ngata is good. How does he stack up to other DTs in recent memory?
-
IF we took a LB we would take Hawk. We are NOT taking a lb

Givens is a great player and a good guy. We never used him right here at ND and he never once complained. Coach Weis thinks very highly of him and that's good enough for me. But I don't know about him being a #1, I feel more comfortable with Evans at 1 and him at 2
-
I don't like Brooks. But he IS better than both of our guys, so lets not slam him too badly.
-
(My two cents) I like Brees a lot, but I have a hunch he will work something out with San Diego. I think he is a warm weather guy. It may be a case of being a good fit for him, as much as him being good for the Chargers. The Chargers could trade Rivers, but they would look stupid (stupider?), and would likely not get near as much for him as they might have last season. Outside the Bills, this will be one of the more interesting situations to watch over the next few weeks....
Drew Brees played college ball at Purdue. Thats about 2 hours from Notre Dame where I am and this is the most God-awful snowy and cold weather in the world. He is not a warm weather QB

Hey my reasons for disliking JP are my own. All I'm saying is, we should have trde up for Rivers as an option as well. At the time of the draft this board talked him up just as much as Big Ben. Did you forget what we're talking about?
-
I know it's not a milestone as far as the board goes, but I have never lasted for more than a couple posts on any board. You guys are awesome and I really enjoy all our little conversations, so filled with love and positivity. Moderators, you guys are awesome! Now that Marv is back in town i'm sure my next 500 posts will be full of sunshine.

Can I be the one to post the cliche' in regards to Big Ben? "Hindsight is 20/20"
YESSS!!!
Don't forget, there were a lot of people on here who wanted Rivers. Would you put him up as an option?
Incidentally, who were the big names we wanted that year? I believe Udeze was one of them, Roy Williams too.

God forbid we wind up with another McNair, as opposed to what we have now, a Rob Johnson lookalike who sounds like he's been inhaling helium and has poorer decision-making skills than Michael Irvin in his personal life.
-
You can't ask that now that Ben has won a Superbowl! Incidentally, even with Ben we wouldnt have made it past the first rd. We don't have gaps in our roster, we have a black hole called the Oline.

What exactly is it with professional athletes and domestic abuse? I'm sure they were all "asking for it" what with not cowtowing to their every whim like the rest of the world. It does seem like the Dolphins use wives for blocking sleds when their sled's are in the shop though.

You're completely right Rocks. I have been away for so long that moniker completely slipped my mind! Good to be back though.

-
Sh@*tting in one hand. Are you referring to his throwing motion? I knew I'd get people on board!
-
LIe to me Marv, just say it's all going to be ok.
-
Yes let's please build a wall, we'll have to run every play though because Losman gets nervous with even the most simple passes. When he DOES make a good throw it is by mistake. Is a good line going to turn Holcomb into a Pro-Bowler? Don't think so. We need a QB and a line, but what good is a line if you've got nothing valuable to protect? Thats like installing a vault in my dorm room. My quarters are just as safe in my pocket.

What misspelling?

Moulds was a great player for this team.He got a raw deal playing with so many coaches and qbs and then you look at his pal Harrison in Indy witrh Manning and you gotta feel for the guy. He stayed with the team through some rough times and we should celebrate him. His best years are behind him. If he wants to take a run at it somewhere else, I wish him all the best.
