  1. Clausen is going to be a bust I hope and pry we don't have another brain fart and draft that kid

As someone who has seen every one of his games I don't think he will be a bust at all. That said, we have much greater needs on this team. We MUST go NT/LT in the first if we can. I know we need a QB, but you have to build a team through the lines first. I wouldn't even take anyone who isn't a NT/T/OLB until the 5th round.

  2. Define disinformation.

Facts stated (or inferred) in my argument:

    1. QB is team leader (synonymous with "field general" from Synonym.com)

    2. Claussen was ND QB for three years (ND Football website)

    3. Clausen won 16 out of 35 (or 45% win pct) games ND played in last three years (source CBS Sportsline)

    4. ND lost this year to UConn at home, Navy at home, had to come from behind at home to beat a 5-7 UWash team (source ESPN)

    5. Loser - a person who failed at a particular activity (Dictionary.com)

    6. Clausen 45% wins, 55% losses - mathematically qualifies as a negative/loss (trust me on this one or use your calculator)

Therefore, based on facts 1 through 6, Clausen is by definition a loser.

So please explain where the disinformation is?

Yes, by all means apply team play to 1 player's effectiveness. You admit you haven't watched him play. I watched every one of his games and I can tell you he is the only reason ND was even competitive for the last 2 seasons. You want to talk leadership by example? Rather than sit on the sidelines after a bad injury to his foot (a la MCCoy) Claussen played the last few games of a meaningless season with a metal insert in his show just to avoid messing his foot up again and he was scrambling for first down. Not to mention he played outside in a VERY cold stadium. Before you go attributing his stats to his receivers, tell me how much of an impact his old receivers are having in the NFL? The kid makes the players around him better. If that's not leadership, I don't know what is.

Apart from being obnoxious (source: your post), your attempt at syllogism is logically drivel. Field general relates how? Clausen has lost in college, he is not defined as a loser. Nice try pops, don't strain too hard trying to think.

  3. I don't like what I've seen from the kid...I'm with Holmgren...you know when you listen to somebody...and you just don't like him?...that's the feeling I get with Clauson...I feel the same way...there is just something about him...he turns my stomach lol...I don't think he's not gifted...I just think he's missing something...

This coming from the guy who thinks we should trade for Vick. Who has a subpar arm and at his best was a threat because he could run, which he can't really do anymore. I'll pass on making decisions based on your judgment.

  4. This is clearly posturing by the Dolphins for a Thigpen trade. I can't believe there are reporters out there who would report this at face value, rather than the obvious true intent of the team (falsely inflating Thigpen's value). Clearly, at 2.5 million, Pennington is the backup. And just as clearly, Pat White will not be given up on after being drafted so high, so he is #3. Thigpen will be released or traded, and of course they are hoping for traded, hence these leaks.

The amazing thing is these reporters report it as they hear it, rather than seeing through it. Or, are they so enamored with being included that they report it even thought they know it's false, just to be a part of things?

So you, who have no real insight beyond your delusions and incoherent ramblings, think Tim is wrong for reporting news, which he has verified with actual real sources.

  5. I know this probably doesn't belong on the stadium wall, but I see people posting all the time about where to get the best replicas. Mitchell and Ness has a 50% off sale going now- FB5000 is the coupon code. I don't know how long the sale is running, but I thought the deal might make these jerseys a little more attainable. I've been waiting to grab a legit Bruce Smith jersey for a while. Anyway, sorry if this gets moved. Thought the post might hook some people up. I'm not affiliated with their site or anything, I just get a ton of alerts for internet sales and got pumped about this one.

  6. From PFT

"The Bills have jumped off the sidelines this offseason with an odd move.

The team signed tackle Cornell Green to a three-year, $9 million contract, according to NFL Network's Jason La Canfora. Last with the Raiders, Green turns 34 this offseason.

Buffalo needs warm bodies on the offensive line, but Green didn't seem like a player that was going to get much more than the veteran's minimum. Of course, he may have to start in Buffalo."

  7. Keep justifying it any way you want they were contributors to SUCCESSFUL teams.

How exactly do you propose we sign those guys? The only way for the Bill to sign a name FA is to overpay. The team isn't good, the coaching staff isn't all that hyped up and our facilities are worse than most of the "contender" teams. That is before you factor in things like climate and attractiveness of the city as a whole. When we sign people, they will be role players who have been backups before and are offered an opportunity to compete for a starting position.

  8. I'm not optimistic about Maybin. The new GM has thrown him under the bus (albeit with euphemisms) a couple of times already, and I suspect that they're wary of another Vernon Gholston situation -- unable to wash their hands of a bust because they're tied to him. Nix has made it very clear that he's not responsible for him, which will make cutting the cord easier. The word at PFW last summer was that he looked terrible in mini camp, and while players do get better, he showed nothing last year. I'm over it - it's not the end of the world if he's a bust; the Bills will move on. It happens to every team. Incidentally, Mark Gaughan has said a number of times that Maybin is incapable of dropping into coverage and playing the pass on anything approaching a regular basis, and that the Bills know that. He said that he's simply not cut out to be a linebacker.

Lavar Arrington serves as his mentor and has had him in summer camps for years. I live in the DC area and Lavar talks about Maybin on his radio show from time to time. He eluded to the fact that the holdout was a bad idea and probably cost him any production this year, but he still thinks the kid will be a special player. He didn't HAVE to give him an endorsement like that. I think the kid could still be good.

  9. The hiring of Chan Gailey completely blows my mind. I was afraid we would settle for some no name coordinator and hope he would do well. Instead, we hire a coach who couldn't even hack it at the college level. Before you go off spouting win loss records, let me say that I watched almost every televised GT game while he was there and he is a TERRIBLE coach.

Then we hear Schottenheimer was interested and Ralph wasn't "comfortable" with him? Reality of the fact is that we will not be able to draw ANY free agent interest with Gailey, where we could have tried to start rebuilding with Schottenheimer, who at least has a good reputation in this league. Then Nix goes and makes a comment indicating that there were others people, whose names would "blow your mind" who called about the job. That is just adding insult to injury. So besides Schott, we are to assume there were other candidates and that Ralph turned them all down to hire this hack because he is comfortable with him?

    This front office is sick.

  10. I won't be one to judge how he will do here, since he hasn't actually done anything besides put on the Bills pin on his suit. I've been around the blog threads for the last day or so about this, and it has been 99% negative. For however many people they interviewed, they chose Gailey. Now it's time to get on board and trust he'll have a plan. If things turn sour, then yes, I'll be lashing out with the rest of you, but for now I will remain hopeful that he'll put the team in the right direction.

Innocent until proven guilty. Isn't that how America work, right?

Something I really liked, something his predecessor did not have, was his tone and attitude with regard to the conference. That made me believe he won't take any BS or make excuses. He knows the situation, probably better than most, or else he wouldn't have taken the job.

ABSOLUTELY NOT. You don't blindly "get on board" with an asinine move like this. Schottenheimer wanted the job! You have got to be friggin kidding me.

  11. i am glad that ralph is thinking for himself and not listening to fans....ralph has forgotten more about football than any of us will ever know, collectively...if he was uncomfortable with Schottenheimer, then that is good enough for me....its been 3 years since he was a coach anywhere...has to be a reason for that....

    Lemming

Ralph has apparently also forgot that the point of playing the game is to win. This is absolutely ridiculous

  12. Marv Levy's NFL head coaching experience prior to taking over the Bills (at 61 years of age) ...

    KC 1978 4 12 0 .250 5th in AFC West

    KC 1979 7 9 0 .438 5th in AFC West

    KC 1980 8 8 0 .500 3rd in AFC West

    KC 1981 9 7 0 .563 3rd in AFC West

    KC 1982 3 6 0 .333 4th in AFC West

I wonder what everyone was saying about Marv the day he was hired.

I wonder if all of these Bills fans had them dead in the water before he even coached one game.

He hasn't even assembled his staff, for God's sake.

Whatever his record Ralph was a leader of men. Gailey is not. I watched GT a ton while he was there and he is no leader.

  13. Bills fans have to realize that we are the leper colony of the NFL right now. The Bills could not even get interviews with most of the people they tried to target. Does it suck? Yep. Is it Ralph's fault? You betcha. Is pissin' and moanin' now gonna change anything? Not a chance.

So against that backdrop, the Chan Gailey hire is not that bad. Yes, he is probably 10th on the list, but his resume is not that bad. A lot is going to depend on who we can sign and draft anyway. Oh, and don't expect free agency to go much better than the coaching search. But that's the team we have. Be fan or not. It's your choice.

    PTR

Do you EVER taken a position against the front office? All I hear from you are excuses for Ralph. At least we knew who the lemmings should line up behind.
