  1. I've been really impressed by Mac Jones play this preseason.

Delivers the ball quickly and on time and what's impressed me the most is his arm strength looks good on those 10-15 yard crosses.

Cam Newton looked awful. I actually think the Patriots are very firmly more of a threat to the Bills than the Dolphins and it wouldn't shock me if the Dolphins actually finish last in the AFCE. I think Wilson will look much better this year than people are prepared for, and will outshine Tua by leaps and bounds.

  2. I've got 2 extra tickets to tge home opener, you'll be sitting next to me & my brother.

Section 134, Row 44.  Bills home side right on the 50 yard line, lower level. Some of the best seats in the stadium, IMHO.

$400 a ticket. $800 total for the pair.

Comparable seats on stubhub are going for $1000 pair after stubhub tacks on their insane 33% buyer fees.

My biggest thing with Wawrow is his questions are always like this. Yes he particularly stammered because he tip toed trying to get an answer without pissing Poyer off , but his questions are always excessively long winded and too descriptive as if he is trying to get a player to go a certain direction.

Half the time when he asks a question about halfway through I’m like get to the point already and stop talking. No one in The Bills media is anywhere close to as long winded with questions.

I can’t be the only one who notices this

Couldn't agree more, was going to point this out, but I know Wawrow reads this board & he seems like a good dude......but damn it's rough listening to him try and spit a coherent ? Out.

    Sightings:

    Josh Allen (of course)

    Gabe Davis

    Isaiah McKenzie

    Dawson Knox

Dion Dawkins (man he looks spherical)

    Tre' White

    Jordan Poyer

    Micah Hyde

    Siran Neal

    Tremaine Edmunds

    Greg Rousseau (think he's #50?)

    Tyrell Adams

    AJ Klein

    Matt Milano

    Tyler Bass

    Matt Haack

    Who did I miss?

    Players I did not see:

    Cole Beasley

    Stefon Diggs

    Emmanuel Sanders

    Jon Feliciano

    Mitch Morse

Doesn't mean they weren't there, only that the Bills didn't put up film clips of them.

I'd like to hope that NFL players would have a larger (see what I did there?) selection of helmets to find one that truly fits

First thing I noticed, you also seemed to notice:

Dion Dawkins looked huge, as in out of shape huge.

  5. Yes.

Mahomes is probably the only QB I'd take over Allen.

He's done it for 3 years at a special level, so he definitely has the nod over Allen in my book, who's done it 1 season.

In the end Allen might be better, but at this pt. In time anyone that would choose Allen over Mahomes is clearly a rabid Bills fan.  I get it, I love him too, but I'm trying to be objective here.

  6. No matter what extension the Bills offer Allen they'll very likely keep the 2 years he has left on his deal at its current value in place.

This is what the Bills did with Tre White and what the Chiefs did with Mahomes.

This gives the player and agent the ability to advertise a huge APY on the new deal.....but gives the team a much more manageable cap hit situation leaving a couple of cheaper years in place.

In the end I expect the Bills to extend an offer of 6 years for $250M (41.675 APY) & I expect Allen's camp to want a shorter deal in the 4 years for $180M (45 APY) range.

A compromise of 5 years for $220M (44 APY) seems like the sweet spot for me.  The Bills will keep the remaining 2 years @ $26.55M on the deal. So it'll essentially be a 7 year deal worth $246.55M (35.225 APY).

I also think the base value of his extension will be closer to the $42.5M per year with incentives (All Pros, Conference Champs, SB Champs) pushing it closer to the $44M APY I predicted.

  7. If Kwity Paye makes it to #21 I can envision a scenario where the Bills trade up with the Colts, who love to trade down & who also dotn currently have a 3rd round pick.

The cost would be this years 3rd and 5th round pick......or this years 3rd and next years 4th, which Ballard would probably prefer.

Colts probably feel they can get one of the T prospects @ #30 that they like (Liam Eichenberg) & I took the news yesterday that the Bills were looking to trade up for Etienne as a sign perhaps there's a pass rusher they might want to come up for. I think Kwity Paye seems to make sense. I'd put Jaelan Phillips in that category too but his concussion history makes me think he wouldn't be a Bills pick.

BILLS select Kwity Paye with the 21st pick

Well I'll tell you where I think things stand:

    Last week the odds were:

    Mac Jones -300

    Justin Fields +250

    Trey Lance +350

This would imply odds of Jones going #3 @ 75%.

    This week its:

    Fields -125

    Mac Jones +150

    Fields +450

This would imply odds of Fields going #3 @ about 55%.

I still can't get over Schefter outright saying Mac Jones will be the pick @ #3......and then kind of walking it back, but not really.  I also know Warren Sharp believes it's Mac, as does Peter King, Chris Simms (Kyle Shanahans friend), & Michael Lombardi. I also know before the media scolded Dan Orlovsky for his less than rosy view of Fields, Greg Cosell was not a big fan of his in terms of a prospect.

I think +150 on Mac Jones as it stands now is terrific value & I expect him to become the favorite again as the draft nears.

And what makes you think Mac Jones is 4th on SF's board?

8 days later & Max Jones is back up to -300 @ most sportsbooks. I dont always handicap them this good, but this Mac Jones saga has been a real joy to be financially tied too because there's been so many irrational line movements.

Why are so many people incredulous that SF might take Jones at 3?  Shanahan probably sees him as similar to Joe Burrow--a guy without elite athleticism and who might not have a cannon, but who always makes the right decision with the ball and can deliver it where it needs to go.  I don't understand why Jones doesn't draw more Burrow comparisons...

In a weird way the conversation has shifted from comparing QB prospects to focusing on the color of their skin.  There's an underlying current against Mac Jones because people don't think it's fair or reasonable that people could actually prefer him over Fields.  Dan Orlovsky shared some negative things he was hearing about Fields and the majority woke media, led by Peter King, turned it into a conversation about race.  King was pretty adamant that Orlovsky had no right sharing that info with his audience.

It has created an interesting betting market because there's so much unknown or known, depending on who you talk to, surrounding the #3 pick.

Can't wait to see who it is

Every mock draft has them taking Jones.

If Shanahan told his friends what they were doing with the pick, would you fire him if you were the GM or owner?

Allen was not consensus 4th rated QB.  He was the consensus most raw prospect even when compared to Jackson.  Their was zero consensus on the QB order going into that draft.  There were several mocks that had Darnold or Rosen going #1 overall.  There were others that saw Mayfield fall to 4th taken. Some folks thought the Jets would take Allen and even others thought the Broncos could be in the mix for Allen as the #3 QB taken.

And what makes you think Mac Jones is 4th on SF's board?

  11. Was listening to spotrac's most recent podcast w/ Mike Ginnitti & he casually mentioned he thinks Singletary is a trade candidate this offseason maybe even draft weekend.  Normally I'd just pass this off as speculation, but in listening to Ginnitti over the past few months it's pretty clear that he's got some connections.

He was talking about Trubisky possibly signing as a backup in Buffalo a few days before it happened. It seems a lot of his "ideas" on his podcast seem to come true, which makes it must listen for me.

He also mentioned that Breida might be viewed as a starter in Buffalo, which I found interesting.

I happen to like the idea of trading Singletary because I just dont think he does anything well enough to not want to replace.  I'm not sure he'd be worth much of anything & I think the Bills would be fortunate to get anything more than a future 6th-7th rounder for him.

Just found it interesting that he casually mentioned Singletary as a trade candidate......after hearing it from his lips I now fully expect Singletary to be moved.

Hopefully it's a lesson learned for the Bills to stop blowing valuable top 100 draft picks on replacement level RBs.

  12. I'll guess:

    2 MNF

    1 SNF

    1 TNF

1 FLEX option into a Saturday standalone game late in the season

So I guess 4.5 (Sat. Flex game likely but not guaranteed)

I also think we will see more early season primitive games as opposed to last yr., where the majority of our night games were played in Dec.

  13. I like you're idea.

I'm not a huge Edmunds fan & with the Mariano resigning I'd be fine if Edmunds is eventually replaced on this roster.  That said I think the guy the Bills might covet in a trade up would be.......

Jaylen Waddle.  They've seen firsthand what a speed merchant, who can score anytime he touches the ball is like to defend in Tyreek Hill and I think they'd like to have their own version of that in Buffalo.

I'm never an advocate of teasing up, in fact I usually favor the opposite, but your sentiment about this regime is right.......I don't think the idea can be ruled out with this regime.  If Waddle did slip into the mid teens, which I highly doubt, the Bills would have a chance with #30 & #62.

  14. I like Michael Carter, RB, UNC a lot, moreso, than Etienne who I think is an overrated prospect.

I think Tyson Campbell is a terrific CB prospect who excels in both man & zone.  He'd be a slam dunk @ #30, but I actually don't think he'll be there.

Lastly, Amari Rodgers.  Love him, reminds me of Deebo Samuel, who I remember the Bills being keen on. #30 is a little early for him but I'm not sure he makes it to #61.

That's why I'm rooting for a trade down 10-20 spots so we end up with 4 picks in the top 94.
