  1. Crable has awesome athletic abilities to play rush-backer in a 3-4. So far he hasn't been able to really transfer that physical ability to play on the field. At Michigan he would sometimes make great plays but also disappear for long stretches. He'd be worth a look, but I wouldn't get my hopes up that he'd ever be a difference maker.

  2. I don't know how the smaller programs could afford it. I heard Mack Brown say on CFL that only 19 programs made money last year. All the rest (around 90 programs) lost money on football. Unless there was some sort of revenue sharing I don't see how it could be done. And even if there was revenue sharing,is there really enough money to go around?

  3. What else is there to say?

Thirty years to talk to him. Thirty years and he never does it, even though he suggests it be done in a way that would have made him money, and when Stingley turns him down for the reason it would make him money, Tatum never did it. No class.

He might have been a sweetheart at benefits and dinners. I don't care, and I think the Pats interviewed for that piece are dead on. I don't blame him for the hit. I blame him for not reaching out.

And if you think that isn't true because it's on the internet, let's hear you prove it's not true.

Tatum tried to see Stingley in the hospital shortly after the hit. He was turned away by Stingleys family, who accused him of dirty play and blamed him for the incident. Tatum tried a few more times over the years and was always rebuffed. The only way he was ever going to reconcile with Stingley is if Tatum accepted blame, apologized and asked for forgiveness. He wasn't going to do that,as he felt he had done nothing wrong. It was a hard, clean hit. The kind of hit football fans love as long as the opponent gets up. It was an unfortunate incident that has been told from only one side by most of the media.

  4. I know you shouldn't speak ill of the dead, but frankly Tatum was a scumbag for the way he acted after he crippled Darryl Singley for life, and he was doubly reprehensible for staging an apology to Stingley in the name of selling his book. I hope he never rests in peace.

You don't know what you're talking about. Tatum was a very private person and because of that,he came off to some as unremorseful. In truth, although he felt he did no wrong, the Stingley incident haunted him. I met him several times,at various Raider functions over the years, and he was a very humble and classy guy. Rest in peace Jack.

  5. Watching College Football Live today and there was lots of discussion about paying college athletes. On one hand I think a full ride scholarship is plenty of compenation, but I can also see the merit of giving a stipend to student-athletes who help bring in millions of dollars. These kids aren't even allowed to have a summer job, maybe $1,000 a month wouldn't be a bad idea. But it also opens up a can of worms. Who would get the stipends? All athletes,or just ones in sports that bring in revenue? And how would it effect small programs? I don't know,I'm on the fence on this one. What do you guys think????

  6. I never had faith in Obama to begin with. I have hope that he will be an effective president, not faith. I only have faith in my family and God. With the current situation the country is in,it would be very difficult to be a popular president imo. Hopefully he has the political skills to work with both sides to get thru these tough times. If the Republicans are able to take the congress in the next election that would be a good thing. It seems our country works best with a split in power that makes the 2 sides work together.

  7. I'm not into hard rock but in the mid-late 80's I went with a friend and saw Van Halen,Scorpions and Mettalica at Candlestick Park,San Francisco. Big mistake. I liked the Scorpions.I had never listened to them before, but thought they sounded great. Van Halen and Metallica were HORRIBLE,just super loud noise and screaming. I actually fell asleep!

  8. I saw Milli Vanilli in 1991. I was just a kid, and it was still dumb.

 I saw them too. I wasn't a kid tho,I just happened to be at the county fair the night they were playing. Best concert I've seen was Santana and Los Lobos in Sacramento in the mid '80s.

  9. I'm just curious about the make up of some of the people on here. Is it in your genes that some of you are so pessimistic of the Bills? Is it so deeply ingrained in your souls that the outlook is so bad?

I know that most of us here have an optimistic outlook of the Bills, no matter how bleak things have looked for a while. The majority of us have read up and studied our team and know things haven't worked out the best for years. But we realize things can go better. How can things go worse?

We've upgraded our D and we have a man in charge who is known for making the most of an O. If we had upgraded our O in the draft instead of the D, I bet some of you would still find something to complain about.

Seriously though, I'm just curious, have some of you been so pessimistic all your life?

I'm not saying at all that you shouldn't post. I actually like reading your points of views at times because it's good to see different aspects and views of the game. But really, pessimism can go too far.

I'de much rather read optimistic posts from people who do their research (like a lot of people here do).

    Thoughts?

You wanna know why some of these cats look at everything in such a pessimistic way? Cuz they're losers. They look at their sports team with such a critical, pessimistic eye cuz thats how they look at everything. Thats just them. It's no use arguing with them, they'll just tell you you're stupid and you'll never change their minds anyway. Ignore them and focus on the many cool, fair minded people on this board. There's plenty of them.

  10. Brohm will be interesting to watch. He had a very good college career and came out highly ranked in the draft but hasn't had any success in the NFL so far. This is a great opportunity for him. Without reading any scouting reports,my impression is he has a similar skill set to Edwards, but was much more productive in college. Hopefully one of these guys will grab hold of the job and win it,rather than just being picked to start cuz because he screwed up less than the other guy.

  11. Ok, I'll say it.....

    just like their victims?

Quick show of hands, how many people searched for and/or saw that reporter beheading years ago, or Sadams hanging video?

    I did

    :)

So the whole PPV idea would get some people to buy, if they keep the price low, someone mentioned $9.95 earlier. Anymore than that I don't think would be worth it.

I agree it would probly sell, but anybody who would pay to see it is sick in the head. Just my opinion.
