  1. I knew that was coming but I already tried Google. I thought some of the tech guys on here might know of other sites specifically for audio.

Google finds a lot. I found the radio broadcast of the Heidleburg crash and other cool stuff, but not Miller's call.

You may want to try and Google "Mental Illness" and see if that helps you out.

  2. I don't ask for help too often but have been looking for something for a while without success. Last year, Stevie Johnson dropped a would be game winning OT catch against the Ravens. I am not trying to re-live this but always wanted to hear Van Miller's call of it on the radio broadcast. Does anyone have this recorded? Could you attach it or possibly link it? Thanks. If not, are there good audio search sites out there?

Van Miller quit doing the radio broadcast for the Bills in 2003. Where have you been in a coma?

  3. I've seen the Ad at least 5 times today and it's FREE. Just wait until the deal is signed. As for you seeing the Bills for free, a lot of us live out of town and it's the only way to see them. I will make my yearly call and get the discount I'm sure. For direct tv and the NFL, some is better than none. Say you'll drop it and they'll cut the price.

I don't know what you guys are talking about but I called today and they said it wasn't free for first time subscribers and was told for just 5 easy payments of $66 and change it would be free, yeah no thanks. Paying for the UFC is bad enough and there is no way I'm paying for football when I can watch the Bills and see most teams, the playoffs and the superbowl.

I never knew they played each other

They played each other before this in the USFL. Not only did they play each other, they were teammates, or would have been as members of the New Jersey Generals had the USFL played the 1986 season

  5. AGREED!!!

    That would be AWESOME!!! :worthy:

I have a question though... I can't remember the exact date or who we were playing against, but one game in the 90's we were wearing the red helmet with the white standing buffalo... What was the point of that???

It was the NFL 75th anniversary and all the teams did throwbacks, but the Bills were to cheap to do a real throwback that year, so they slapped on a standing Buffalo on their red helmet. It sucked because I was looking forward to see real throwback. Luckily when the NFL did throwbacks again, the Bills did them right this time.

  6. Jim Kelly should have stayed through the 99 season and "homerun throw up" wouldn't have happened and we would have beat the Rams in the superbowl. I remember back in 96 thinking that Jim was getting old and needed to move on, however in retrospect had we focused on the offensive line he could have kept playing on like Elway and Marino did and would have finished his career with a ring. Granted he was becoming more immobile but if we had two probowl tackles and then Kent Hull would have stayed Kelly would have had all the time in the world to make plays. We had a great defense with Hansen, Washington, Bruce, Sam Cowart, Winfield and then Eric Moulds, Peerless price on offense with Riemersma and the running game still serviceable it could have been easily worked out. So hopefully when we get our next franchise QB we will keep him as long as possible like Peyton Manning who is still in his prime and is going into his 13th year, one more than Jim's pro career.

Kelly played 13 seasons, his first two were in the USFL. He was done.

  7. Maybe this a guy the Bills could take a look at for quaterback. Here's just a little about him from a aticle on the schools website.

"He has completed 239 of 350 passes for 2,812 yards and 22 touchdowns with just two interceptions this season and leads all FCS quarterbacks in completion pct. with a mark of 68.3 percent and ranks third in passing rating with a mark of 155.37. He also ranks 23rd in passing yards per game (216.3) and No. 28 in total offense per game (225.0).

He has thrown for over 200 yards eight times this season, including six times in the last seven years. He has been nearly flawless over the last six games, including three playoff appearances, completing 135 of 189 passes (71.4 percent) for 1,517 and 16 touchdowns with just one interception."

  8. WTF! I want Alabama to win but that personal fowl on Fairley was ridiculous that led to Bama's 3rd TD. When Auburn loses that will put TCU in the Championship game and then Ohio state can take on "sister of the poor" Boise.

It will be Boise moving ahead of TCU after they beat Nevada tonight going to the chanpionship game.

  9. You explained nothing to what I asked...all you want to do is bash the QB. The Bills could have run 100 plays and if the QB can't make 3rd and long because he has a defender in his face... how exactly does that keep the OC from calling more running plays

Wouldn't it have been nice to open the game at least trying to run the ball, did you click on the link and even look at the play by play? The Bills tried to run mostly out of the shotgun formation the exact same way that AVP and Turk Schonert tried to do, with less success. Play action formations work because the defense doesn't know what to expect and it gives the RB some power to gain speed before he hits the line. The Bills opened the game by passing and failed to establish any passing rhythm at all, but then they didn't even try to establish a running attack at any point in the game. This offense looked like the very same crap we have seen the last 4 years.

Yes the Bills need to run the ball better, but when the defense has eight in the box with their safties playing almost as a linebacker, then you're not going to be able to run the ball until they respect your passing game. And NO ONE fears Trent Edwards. The best example of how bad he is and that he has no clue is the very last series. 20 odd seconds left, no timeouts, when only 2 hailmarys could win the game, what's Trent doing? Looking and waiting for an open 3 yrd checkdown receiver to come open. He's clueless. This game will always start with how good your QB is and ours has sucked for 3 years now and he isn't going to get better.

  10. Watching the Packer-Eagle game. Look how fast Aaron Rogers gets away from the center and sets up. Then see how fast he reads where he's going with the ball. While our line had some terrible play today, there were plenty of times that he could of made a play. He just doesn't have the mental read and reaction time to play this game as a starting QB. And it WILL NOT CHANGE. We waited for Rob Johnson to get it, we waited for Losman to get it, neither did. Time to give up on this guy.

  11. I'm sure it was a great speech, but someone must have written it for him. I covered the Jazz during Malone's days in Utah and he was one of the most selfish"Me Guys" I've ever been around.

    .

Last night was the Basketball Hall of Fame induction which included The Mailman, Karl Malone. He was a great player but it was his not his play the Bills should emulate, it was his speech. His speech was all about how it was not one person that does everything in life. It is about sharing with others, doing the right thing and understanding how it is not all about you. It is about team and family.

That is what FOOTBALL is really all about. And what do we get? From Karl Malone's own son? Maybe I missed something but Bell sat out last night while his teammates struggled, he claims his father has done nothing for him and generally does not seem to understand the things laid out so clearly in his father's speech.

Now I don't want to dump everything on Bell who is a kid, because Hardly also allegedly tried to kill his father and Lynch has had his issues, but Demetrius should listen to dad.

And before you all start in with criticizing Malone, I'm sure the Hall of Fame checks all the speches out and validates them before they are made. I doubt they would let him go on and on unless he had lived up to his word. I think the Hall does a lot of background checks.

So come Bell and the rest of you.....T-E_A-M. I don't see an "I" in there.

  12. I don't know if this is the right place to post this, if not Mods please move it. But does anybody know where I can get a old retro white OJ jersey. And not a replica, i want it like the authentics with the name and number sewn on??

Here's a link to a place in Buffalo that does exact throwback jerseys made from the same material they made them from back in the 60s and 70s. They have a 1973 Simpson jersey on the website.

  13. The guy or guys who blew the last play was Jerry Ostroski or who ever made the blocking call. Watch Ostroski line up in front of Armstrong, only to run by him to double team a guy who doesn't even pass rush. On one of the ground level shots you see him standing there doing NOTHING, while Armstrong man handles Thurman Thomas. Either Ostroski was a moron or who ever made the blocking call was. But to leave a great pass rusher like Armstrong unblocked left to Thurman is as dumb as a play as you'll ever see.

  14. Normally I agree with much of what you say....but to sign a fat, lazy, and underperforming quarterback to make us "relevant again" is a very irrational thought process. Those are the kind of roster moves that keep teams in the dungeon for many more years. Flutie and JR are no wheres near the same in many ways. I dont give a hoot what a madden game says. What do you want nix to do, sign players just to appease someone?

Turn your sarcasm blocker OFF. He's joking

  15. I know it seems that I'm casting aspersions on the CJ Spiller pick seeing as I've made two posts about him in one day. In truth, I had to wait till well after the draft to really incubate some thoughts. I consider myself neither an optimist nor a pessimist when analyzing the Bills.

Besides the 15-18 touches per game issue, here's the other issue regarding the drafting of CJ Spiller at #9 (and surprisingly to me, no one here or in the media has brought up this issue, which I think is very real).

There were at least two other "scatbacks" that the Bills could have taken later in the draft…although one might have required a trade down in the first round.

Specifically, Jahvid Best (5'9" 195 lbs) is a player VERY close to Spiller (5'11" 195 lbs) in terms of talent, style, and impact. He ended up going to Detroit with the 30th pick overall after the Lions traded up four spots to select him. Another highly regarded scatback in this draft was Dexter McCluster (5'9" 172 lbs) who went 36th overall to the Chiefs.

In actuality, one can make the argument that Best is a better player than Spiller.

For starters, several player rankings had Best ranked higher than Spiller.

Best also had the fastest 40-time of all running backs at the NFL Combine.

Playing 3 years for Cal in the Pac Ten, Best totaled 3635 yards, averaging 7.3 yards per rush, 8.6 yards per reception, and 25.6 yards per kick return.

Playing 4 years for Clemson in the ACC, Spiller totaled 7588 yards, averaging 5.9 yards per rush, 11.5 yards per reception, and 27.7 yards per kick return.

I'm not saying that Best is better than Spiller. Spiller was certainly more of a workhorse for Clemson (but does that not also mean that he has higher mileage?) and had very few injuries while Best was nagged by injuries during his college career. I'm merely pointing out that the player who many thought was the most explosive player in college football, Jahvid Best, is nearly as good as Spiller and went 21 picks later. I would also argue that if a player is going to get limited touches, it matters less how much of a load he can carry.

As for Dexter McCluster, he played 4 years for Ole Miss in the SEC, totaling 4089 yards, averaging 6.4 yards per rush, 13.1 yards per reception, and 19.7 yards per kick return.

Again, Spiller might be the best of this group.

But in all the oversimplified criticism of Spiller being a "luxury pick," everyone who makes that argument points to the usual crap about building through the trenches, already being strong at running back, passing up needs at OT and QB, etc.

But one of the main things that makes CJ Spiller a luxury pick, if indeed he is one, is that there were similar players that the Bills could have possibly traded down to get later…picking up extra picks along the way.

As a corollary to that point, the ONLY criticism I have of the Bills draft is Buddy Nix's quick, decisive, selection of CJ Spiller. He was admittedly dismissive of the idea of trading down but he may have been too hasty. The Bills made their pick very quickly (I can't recall exactly how quickly). Who's to say that a team might not have come calling with a trade offer if Nix had simply waited to use his complete allotted ten minutes. Who knows how many picks the Bills could have stockpiled had they simply listened to offers. It's within the realm of possibility that they could have come out of the draft with more players who they liked, AND gotten the coveted scatback.

Have you seen Jahvid Best concussion video and the problems he still has from the injury, it's all you need to see why Spiller was a better pick.

  16. The real world? The real world is unfair, BS, full of people who just want to be victims, and just a rough place.

He took the suspension without a word? It just came down today! His PR person and lawyer will be the mouthpieces of action. Plus, the Union, which has totally tucked tail in recent years, is who needs to fight the action. As part of any Union that's just how things work. Believe me, I am anti-Union, but I have worked in enough to know how they work. I am sure Ben has been out with dozens, if not hundreds, of women. How many of them have complained about him? I was not in the bathroom stall, I do not know what has happened. I would not have a problem if he took out any of my friends. He could not take out my girlfriend, she would never go because she is in a relationship with me.

Go back to watching Nancy Grace and while you are at it, go write a letter to Duke about how the Lacrosse team was out of control for raping that woman! You'll get bonus points too, she is not only a woman, but a minority.

HEY PAL, Ben's reps HELPED DECIDE the amount of games he would be suspended per espn "In addition, Goodell said he listened to recommendations from the quarterback's representatives ". The Duke players were adamant about their innocents, Ben hasn't said Jack. Yeah. and I'm sure you're such a rich stud that your girl friend would never look twice a a pro football player with a lot of money. I'll bet you don't make such an asinine post in about 20 years when you might have a 20 year old daughter. Now you can go back to the cartoon network and have your mommy get you a snack.
