Looking at the Ravens board, many are saying they were nervous about the Steelers game but confident about this one. They know it’ll be more of a battle than last time, but are fully confident they can win by 2 scores if they don’t turn the ball over or commit penalties. Lastly, if the Bills win they want us to go on and win the whole thing, they can’t stomach seeing KC or PHI atop the throne.

Moral of the story: don’t trade up for a TE (or S, LB, G, or C) in round 1. Prior to this year, RB was also itching to be on that list, but Barkley and Henry are showing their value on strong teams. I wouldn’t trade up for any position unless it’s a QB, but that’s just me. It’s proven time and time again it’s not where you select a player, it’s who.

Agreed. This was off the top of my head.
And if his career was longer, Bo Jackson might’ve been considered for top 2.

Ok. Let's try to name 10 in any order better than Henry.
Gale Sayers
Barry Sanders
OJ Simpson
Emmitt Smith
Earl Campbell
Jim Brown
Adrian Peterson
Thurman Thomas
Walter Payton
Eric Dickerson
What's it's going to be in Buffalo?
Marshall Faulk deserves to be on that list as well.

All I know is that if Josh takes over this game, the MVP voters have to feel stupid. Giving a QB 3 MVPs and all pros when the dude hasnt made the superbowl and has only made 1 AFCCG. They made that by default for getting the 1 seed.
I’d love to see it. The talking heads surmised that Jackson wouldn’t win another MVP, no matter how deserving, until he won a SB.

Rewatching the week 4 game, I like what Dorian Williams put on tape, aside from when Hill froze him for the TD. Spector, Morrow, and Lewis were even worse than I remember and BAL scored TDs on their first 3 drives. Bills from the start of the game lacked urgency on both sides of the ball, I thought, especially on offense. Spencer Brown had easily his worst game of the year. Eager to see how the entire team comes out this week after all the chatter has been about how they’re so inferior.

Did someone bring up 13 seconds again?
Several factors contributed to the loss
1) 13 seconds
2) they had all three time outs left
3) they had Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill
4) some Bills players and coaches were already celebrating on the sidelines like the game was over
5) they only needed a FG to tie and go to OT.
I still maintain it would’ve been better for the Bills to be up 2, not 3. I don’t think they play nearly as soft in that situation.

Heard there was a window of time in which assistants could interview for a job and I thought that was last week. I would agree, preparing yourself for a HC interview does seem to take away from game preparation, there’s only so many hours in the day.

Hopefully the Bills watched Hard Knocks: AFCN. When asked which defensive lineman is the toughest for him to go against, Lamar didn’t hesitate - Myles Garrett. But it wasn’t for the usual strength and power reasons you’d think. Last week when the Ravens were doing the read option, Watt had his eyes on the back and was crashing down on him the entire way. Lamar said Garrett will do this thing where his eyes are on the back when he’s rushing, but will then switch course and spring for the QB. Essentially tricking Lamar as to which player he was going after. If Watt watched the tape he could’ve done the same, beeline for Henry at the start and then switch to Lamar once he got close enough after the decision was made. The takeaway?
Make Lamar have to guess which player the defender is going after.

If he disrupts the QB, but the QB still completes a pass for a TD, is he really disrupting? 😂
Perhaps he is but isn’t getting help from
his line mates. Two things can be true.

Where they had luck this year was the Broncos FG block, that is a 1 in every 50 play, the Raiders botched snap when in FG range, and Likely's toe v Baltimore week 1. I do think they have had the break of the ball a time or two.
You can add the pass interference call against the Bengals on 4th and long that bailed them out and a week later, the no call for pass interference in the endzone that should have put the Falcons on the 1 yard line late in the 4th. They’ve had a year of good fortune and bounces, hopefully it’s over in these playoffs.

Chris Berman probably the most famous Bills fan for sports fans. Tim Russert is another one I always remember
Heard Berman was initially a Jets fan but was converted after spending a lot of time with Jim Kelly during their SB run.

Bills play nickel defense like 90% of the time. I’m not sure you can just switch on a whim like that (although I’m reminded of Belichick doing things like that in the playoffs). It would be impressive if McDermott could install a totally different defense in one week.Yeah, I would match personnel with personnnel. Meaning I wouldn’t run nickel if the Ravens put 2 (or less) WRs on the field. The run package they love is Ricard at FB, Henry, a TE (either Likely or Andrews) and 2 WR. Or they’ll go 2 TEs, 2 WRs with Henry as the sole back and Lamar on the read option. All of these formations I’d run Milano, Bernard, and Williams out there.

As long as Nacua isn’t on the Ravens… I’m a little more optimistic. We should be able to stop the run and QB scrabbles better
I do think the defense will have a much better showing, especially with having the crowd on their side. BUT if the scheme/play calling is as bad as last time, consistently giving the Ravens light boxes, those 3 won’t make a monumental difference. I don’t anticipate Babich will try to do the same as last time though. I think he’ll have a few better answers.

We didn’t have Bernard, Milano or Taron last time
Had all 3 against the Rams (44pts 457 yds) and the Lions (42pts 521 yds).

Hamlin’s blitzing reminds me of Edmunds. If there’s someone in their path, it’s over for them. They don’t try to muscle or maneuver past in any way.

Doesn't matter if you have 6 in the box or 8. If it's a hat on a hat and the offensive hats win there are going to be opportunities for the running back.
When the Texans played the Ravens, I noticed a lot of 5 down lineman to combat BMore’s rushing attack. Why is this significant? Shortly after Bills v Ravens I was yelling the defense should’ve went to a 5-2-4 look to keep Morrow off the field, or even a 5-3-3 when BMore went heavy. Imagine how deflated I was to see that the Texans still couldn’t stop Henry or Jackson with 5 guys on the line.
PIT couldn’t stop them with Heyward, Watt, & Highsmith either. I don’t know how you stop that attack, but I do know I’d hit the crap out of Lamar for every read option he does. You see how PIT keyed on the RB and hit him when he didn’t have the ball? That defender would be on Lamar like that. Other fans might think the Bills are playing dirty, or headhunting Lamar and I don’t care. There’s no such thing as nice, cordial, or gentlemanly in the playoffs. I’d make them stop calling it. HIT. HIM. HARD.

Ravens have choked away big leads, guys!

Hit Lamar on every play. You never know when he will keep the ball or not, so just smack him every play.
This is my approach. I want Ravens fans to yell at the coach for calling read options and RPOs. Any time there’s a defender in the backfield just beeline for Lamar and SMACK. HIM. Every single time.

Which NFC team stops the run the best? Eagles?

That’s a throw Russ specializes in. Very WR friendly long ball.

Too bad Lamar wasn’t drafted by an NFC team. Don’t like having four top shelf QBs in the AFC

Should be an unsportsmanlike conduct flag. He’s using Goodell’s soft rules to take advantage of the defense. It’s akin to the fake slide.
