  1. I really like the aggressive aspect of the Germans, too....and I like the mix of veterans and youngsters. But Argentina just has mad skills. I still have that Maxi Rodriguez goal in my brain from the last WC....one of the best trap/volleys I've ever seen. We always have a fighting chance when we have Klose involved on set pieces, but wow....I dunno about this one. If this were the group stage I'd still be stoked, but since we're in the elimination bracket I expect this match to be GREAT. Hopefully the refs will be a non-factor and the best team will win. As I said earlier, I'm pulling for the Germans, but I just have a feeling that Argentina will take it all this year. Can't wait!!!
  2. What a huge game for my "heritage" team...Argentina is my pick to win it all, but obviously I'm hoping for the upset! With "Air" Klose in the lineup, we're able to put it in the net at any time, but so can Maradonna's boys. It's going to be hard for me not to check in on this thread or sneak a peek at ESPN, cause I have to work until 6p on saturday
  3. No way will Lynch start opening day, man.
  4. Aw man, I felt like the big man on campus with that thing. Everyone used to think it was funny, cause I'm 6'2" and was about 225 at the time, and that car is really small, obviously. I loved that car with a passion. It's actually sitting in my drive way right now
  5. LMFAO!!!! He's a fellow Erie guy, so I have to like him by default lol
  6. lol, not to get political here, but it's funny how "legit" Clinton looked to me when I saw him at the WC match. I didn't vote for him, but for some reason I found myself longing for the days of Clinton...the guy has issues, and he did some stuff I didn't respect at all, but on the world stage he's a rock star.
  7. I remember the first time my buddy and I showed up at school in my RX-7, windows down, cranking the Nasty as they Wanna Be album (yes, on cassette!)
  8. Wow, this brings back some memories!
  9. YES, thank you....that's why I couldn't remember where I read the article....it was an MLS piece lol. I have yet to see him play, but supposedly he's got some ridiculous skills.

  11. Amen, Dean-O
  12. Well, I guess if there is one team that will always have enough younger talent to replace the aging talent (can't believe I'm saying "aging" about 30 lol), it's Brazil
  13. He cant be THAT old, man
  14. lol, thank you for the correction I knew who I meant, just had the other guy on the brain...why isn't he here again?
  15. Just getting caught up with some of the action the past two days.... Anyone who wants to see one of the best goals of the cup so far (maybe the best), go watch (or re-watch) the Ronadinho goal from yesterday against Chile. This is why Brazil is so amazing...the timing of that strike was absolutely perfect, as was the precision. Just a beautiful goal that probably very few players in the world could hit. Just now getting to see some of today's highlights, and WOW, that keeper for Portugal deserves a big hug after standing up to that BARRAGE of shots from Spain and only letting one get past him. Watch the quality of the shots Spain puts on this guy, and you'll be very, very impressed with the effort. Too bad C.Ronaldo and the rest of Portugal couldn't step up to the same level as their goalie. This was definitely some of the best goalkeeping of the tourney!
  16. I just watched that movie the other day on HDNet for the first time since I originally saw it in the 80s. Forgot how good it was! Was great seeing jamie gertz in all her hotness, and keifer did a great job being a creepy bastard vampire
  17. I know, I was just thinking....if only we could be a team like Spain.... oh, wait!
  18. That will change when we get a legit coach in here with a track record of success in club/international soccer, who can come in here and get the most out of our talent. That's how I see it anyway. *cough* Klinsmann *cough!*
  19. Ah okay, I didn't know that cemented him onto the US side only. Thanks for the info
  20. I'm really surprised that Freddy didn't go ahead and play with Ghana this year. If it were me and I got dissed by the MNT twice, I'd tell them where to stick it and go play with my "other" country. I was under the impression that Freddy was doing better too, but sounds like the kid just isn't getting enough playing time to hone his game. I don't know, I've seen the guy play on tape quite a bit and he sure looked like someone who can make things happen!
