  1. Same here. I am so happy with the quality of the streaming through my Roku box that I've been watching on my projector. The picture quality I'm getting is about on par with my HD Dish Network channels. My bluray player is getting up there and starting to get quirky, even after the firmware update. So I'm really tempted to pick up the very, very highly regarded Oppo player, which can stream Netflix and Hulu. That would allow me to have new titles in 1080p with Dolby 5.1 audio and older titles via streaming in 720p or whatever its in. I'm totally cool with that. I love having my Roku box in the bedroom so I can browse for good stuff to watch before bed, so that will work out great. I'm just really thankful I got a good 3 years of hassle free performance from my Sony BD player...a lot of people had trouble with the earlier models. As for Netflix, I'm keeping the streaming and the 3 out with bluray. I feel about it the same way Charlton Heston felt about guns.
  2. I never watch soccer.
  3. Their passing is what stands out to me. I really enjoy watching their ball movement. It's clearly better than the men lol
  4. I forgot about that one...I saw that a while back and really enjoyed it The description on Netflix sure sounds interesting to me, so I'll definitely still check it out. Maybe it wasn't as good to you because you watched it on the heels of seeing Ip Man and it sort of paled in comparison? Well I definitely like the title lol. I'll have to check on Netflix for it when I get done with work...thx!
  5. I tell you what, these ladies are playing some top notch soccer in this WC. I don't often pay attention to the ladies game, but wow, the passing is spot on, they know how to finish, and some of the goalkeeping has been fantastic. I'm very impressed at the level of play. EDIT: After seeing the ridiculous goal the Swedish keeper just gave up, I take back what I said about the goalkeeping lol
  6. Ah okay, yep, that's exactly what it was
  7. Just added Red Cliff...I see that John Woo directed it...hell yes! I can't wait to see that! Netflix has the other three in bluray, so I'm going to rent them so I can do what Lana suggested and watch them on my projector. Hopefully the audio is just as good as the visuals! I have a feeling you're right...can't wait!
  8. I've never much paid attention to rugby, but there was a collegiate rugby "meet" or whatever and I found it pretty interesting. I had no idea the games were that short, but I can understand why given the physicality. Is there an American professional league?
  9. Wow...Latin women are amazingly hot
  10. I loved Bubba Ho-Tep Haven't seen Hobo yet, but plan to
  11. Bruce needs to get over himself and get back to work on Bubba Nosferatu!
  12. Okay. As soon as my balls recover from that kick, I'll get right on that I'm glad you mentioned that, cause I don't think I ever saw Fists of Fury....Balls of Fury, yes. Dude, was that 10 vs IP man scene not completely badass? I definitely need to rent House of Flying Daggers and the others you mentioned...I came close to seeing Crouching Tiger once or twice, but ended up watching something else. I heard it's an amazing flick, though
  13. Exactly. You can't just go back and review the facts and compare the way the victim acted at the time to how you or I might act in retrospect. To have your life threatened is a traumatic thing. You're not sitting there trying to assess whether this person is armed and the other is not, or if they both have play toy guns, etc, etc. All you care about is the fact that you are faced with a threat, and you're thinking either I remove the threat or my life is at risk. It's not fair to expect the victim to show restraint in the heat of the moment, IMO.
  14. I used to love watching the old martial arts flicks that had the really bad dubbed tracks that everyone makes fun of. Until the other night, I think the last film of that genre I have seen was Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, and that was a long damn time ago. The other night I watched a film called IP Man. I didn't know it was loosely based on the life of a real person, but the fighting scenes in this film were unbelievably intense. I'm still recovering from one of the fight sequences where IP man fought ten Japanese martial artists at once...easily my favorite part of the movie. Anyway, just curious if you guys could mention some other really good martial arts films of the last decade or so. I'd like to add some newer films to my queue, so I'm hoping you guys have some entertaining ones in mind.
  15. Probably not. Although I can't rule out a short bout of temporary insanity based on the fact that someone just threatened my life I wonder what the outcome would have been if he had simply subdued the threat and then left it alone. Also, I think if you're dumb enough to threaten someone, then you can't assume the person will answer the threat with equal or lesser force. I think you're pretty much giving up that right, and if they go complete ape-sheeat on ur arse, you are just out of luck.
  16. I definitely agree about Rapinoe's cross...the more I watch it back, the more impressive it is. These ladies truly play as a team. I don't know a thing about their coach, but she's doing a great job. These girls are a force to be reckoned with, and to be able to hit both a clutch goal to send it to PKs and then for the beautiful and talented Hope Solo to come up big with the save...just a whole lot to love about these ladies. I don't give womens soccer enough credit...the level of skill they were exhibiting was top notch. They are truly athletes and talented ones at that. They deserved that victory yesterday. For Brazil to say otherwise is just pathetic. I think they're going to come out and smoke the french, and then it will be a tough match against the winner of the other semifinal for all the marbles.
  17. I'm sorry, but someone threatens your well-being, you have every right to take whatever measures possible to preserve your life. I don't understand verdicts like this. If someone ever came onto a floor of the hospital I was working in, you can bet your arse I'd do whatever I had to in order to remove the threat. To think that I would be sentenced to LIFE for protecting myself and my coworkers (and patients) is just unfathomable.
  18. I agree...I think she's a babe. I like that Ally girl who plays in Germany, too. She was like ICE on that last PK to win the game
  19. U-S-A!!! U-S-A!!! U-S-A!!!
  20. Wow,how amazingly stupid. There's no excuse for a child to lose his life this way. That should have never become a violent scene.
  21. fuggin hell...someone else better stir up some you know what then...that majorly sucks
