A lot depends on how effective a team is in short yardage situations. The Bills seem to be. But being aggressive can bite you too. Go back to the Patriots home game in 2019. Bills go for it on 4th and goal from the 2 and fail. Had they gone for three, they were in FG range on the next possession. Could have tied the game and forced overtime.

It comes down to defending the shield. If they acknowledge it, it tars the league. Never mind the head cheat essentially got Roger Goodell his job.

I'll attribute that breakdown to the heat, missing Milano and Edmunds, and the offensive 3-and-outs in the third quarter. Plus a wily veteran QB who know where to attack.
