  1. I've often wondered why it is so hard to find NFL quality QB's. With each draft class it seems that normally only one or two guys "make it." At that not many go on to play well long term. You would think teams would put far more emphasis on QB coaches and the assessment of talent coming out of the NCAA.

Especially if you consider that if it is a top 5 pick a team will have to guarantee tens of millions of dollars to a player who is yet to take a snap in the NFL...yikes!

  2. Lockout will NOT happen. do you have any idea of the financial consequence EVERYONE involved is facing with a lockout? deal will get done at the last minute. Just like all the rookies that hold out in camp. And then it will all be in the past before we know it.

Actually EVERYONE does not have the dire consequences if a lockout occurs. The owners in the last round of TV contracts put in a stipulation that if there is a lockout they will still be paid $4 billion from the TV networks this year. They don't have to pay the players saleries or benefits but still get paid themselves.

That is pretty hefty leverage on their part. The NFLPA did try to have the network money put aside in a trust until all of this is resolved. I think they were unsuccessful in that but I'm not sure.

The bottom line is right now if the players do not give in to the owners demands there will almost certainly be a lockout.

  3. Just curious why this is so important that it couldn't be put in the thread that was already dedicated to this topic?

Not only was this on the same front page as yours...it was only 9 threads down the page! :wallbash:

Just curious as to why you feel the need to police peoples message board activities...frucking message board police...jeeeeez!

  4. I will listen to it later tonight. But if Sully really did say the Bills should CUT Lynch, then he is a clueless moron. There are teams trying to trade for Lynch right now. Why would you cut a guy instead of getting something in trade?

He did say that. Something along the lines that as soon as he didn't show for the voluntary workouts that since there was a new sheriff in town and he should set the example. (Not sure if he meant Nix or Gailey)

His opinion was obviously laced with emotion and not very well stated, and backed with emotional drivel. It was an embarrassing moment for him as a columnist.

  5. I just bottled my first batch of wine that my wife and I made. It is a Cabernet Sauvignon, and a very fine one if I may say so myself! We're about to start a batch of Merlot next. We decided that we will probably have to have 3 batches fermenting at a time to maintain our stock.

I also enjoy The Knot straight up after I come home from a long day at work.

    13-3 baby!

    I have always played a 13-3 for this contest. It's like a 20 year storm, eventually I'll be right...right???

Besides it's more fun to think about 13-3 than 3-13!

  7. Terrible pick. 20 TDs of over 50 yards? That doesn't sound like anything the Bills could use.

If only he was faster perhaps it could be a justified pick at #9!

We took the best available player in the 1st round, that to me was very refreshing! I know we need an QB, OT or DT etc... but this kid looks real good!

OBD said all along they will not draft purely on need, if the people they had graded high enough at certain positions were not there at #9 they were not going to reach for the next best OT or QB to fill that said position. Good for them that they held on to that thought process for the 9th pick.

Obviously they didn't grade any of the QBs, OTs or DTs available worthy of the 9th pick. It seems to me that Nix has been talking about not stretching for a player every chance he can get for the last few months. I think they had a pretty good idea that the OTs they wanted or graded high enough simply were not going to be there when they picked and I think they correctly assumed that Spiller would be there for the taking and counted on this scenerio playing out this way.

  8. 4pm starts !@#$ing suck. Ruins the entire day. Give me this schedule any time.

If the Bills play at 1pm and lose it seems to take the luster off of football for the rest of the day, so I have enjoyed more football when the Bills have played a later game the last few years!

What a depressing reason to prefer a later game! <_<

I have a Buffalo Braves pennant signed by everyone on that team that year. It is proudly displayed on the wall next to the pool table at my parents house!

  10. Tiger don't have to RAPE a drunk college Girl ..................... I say arrest this RAPIST now. if Marshawn can get 4 3 weeks for what he did ...Big ben The RAPIST should get at least that unless we have a DOUBLE STANDARD.................I could imagine this board If it was D.Mcnabb or Mick Vick we would have a different outlook at the rape then , from the DA in Georgia , news coverage , and people on this board ......................

    Fixed.

I keep reading here that Lynch was suspended for 4 weeks more and more lately. Have I completely lost my mind or didn't Lynch get a 3 game suspension?

  11. The players are being deluded by Smith, who is in over his head and stands to get his d*ck handed to him in the next year.

Scary thing is that bad things usually happen when someone's leader is in over their head and about to get their ass whooped... very bad things!

I don't see this turning out well for the players.

Does this scenario mean there would be no salary cap in place, as is the case in 2010, in 2011 and going forward unless a CBA is reached with the players?

  12. no ****, sherlock...but people have been making this stupid assumption that higher ticket prices would mean we could spend more on players for the past several years now

Which would be the case if the Bills were spending to the cap limit which they have not been doing. They have been playing the cash to cap instead saying they have to do so to run this team in a financially responsible manner. Perhaps if they charge more for the seats and they continued to sell out then they would have more money to operate with.

  13. I do !! Well not hate, but I don't like him at all !! He's not worth hating...he's an idiot, punk, who lacks moral character...all that momma's boy crap he tried to convince us of when he got here was a crock! To ride off after hitting some girl with your car is purely evil ! He thinks he's somethinng with his stupid gold tooth! What a showboat...Beast Mode my a#% .....

He starts to fall down after 2 yards anymore and he can't run the ball in the endzone when they only need a yard or two in the other teams red zone. I had high hopes for McGahee....woops I mean Marshawn..same difference, just another punk with wasted talent !!! Let the money and temporary fame go to his head...that's okay because in 15 years when you still here about Terrell Davis, LT, Walter Peyton, O.J., and the other great running backs his name won't even be mentioned

because he is a waste of talent and immature (unless he makes drastic attitude adjustments that is...I always like to have a window of hope)..He has the potential to be a great one too! Until he changes I think he'll be in jail just like Travis Henry is..probably within the next 5 years and probably should be for the hit and run! TRADE HIM HE'S A BAD APPLE~~

Dude please start breaking up your posts with paragraphs or a blank line between lines or anything but this unreadable crap!

I see this I don't even attempt to read it which is a shame because maybe I'm missing out on some good points.

  14. This has been real useful info for me too. My hot water heater is about 20 years old and bound to die soon. Mike Holmes always plugs the tankless on his HGTV show and I was thinking that with the 30% rebate on them it would make sense to do it this year.

Check with your local utility for additional rebates. National Fuel offers a $350 credit for tankless water heaters that match thier required efficency ratings.

  15. Joke yes...but don't you find it a little amusing that they have us taking Dan Williams...which wouldn't be a bad idea.

That depends if we do it like they suggest we might..."The Bills' new regime is looking to make a big splash in the draft, so don't be surprised if they trade up to the number one spot to take this kid."

I will not be laughing if we use the 9th pick on Williams! I hope we are able to trade down if we don't have a desirable OT left when our pick comes up.

  16. His "own" and his prime passed like two ships in the night. Early in his career, when the team was actually competitive without playing not to lose, he dropped far more passes than a short route possession receiver should.

    WOW revisionist recollection there buddy!

I believe Reed has been in the leauge for 10 seasons and he only had a questionable 2nd year as far as dropped passes goes. He has proven himself as one of the better receivers in the leauge against a zone defense.

As far as Hardy goes we have NO IDEA what he is capable of.

I do remember that he seemed to disapoint his rookie year with his route running and comprehension of the offense. Last year he was hurt for much of the season and we never had a good look at him.

  17. can you please tell me why exactly Houston or Cincy would want to trade into the #9 spot? It's easy to say oh we should trade down and pick up some more picks. But in this talent heavy draft, why would these already playoff contending teams want to trade into our spot?

I think Houston could be eyeing someone like CJ Spiller in a trade up scenario. NYGs are another potential partner in my opinion, again to pick up Spiller.
