That clinches it - I'm going heavy on the Bungles next week after that ringing endorsement!
-
Rayzer, my man, only you would have a problem with a 22-88 1 TD performance. The most important stat: 12-1.

Palmer's good. Real good. Much better than Kitna at this point. Looked like he just wrenched his knee, but you never know...
-
Poor njsue... First the Red Sox over the Yankees; now Jags over Bears and Pats over Bengals. I wouldn't be placing any large wagers anytime soon. Please guarantee the Pats don't win the Super Bowl again, just like last year... please?

Does Weiss leaving signal the end of NE

Each post in this thread should end with "Amen". All you guys are doing Hulk Hogan proud, because it's clear that in addition to eating your vitamins, you're saying your prayers. A Patriot downfall because CW leaves? Ain't happenin'! -
I never get tired of njsue being wrong - first about the Red Sox, and just like last year, wrong about the Pats... over and over and over and over...

Let's Go Patriots! Let's Go Dolphins!

Do it... you know you want to do it!! -
Have you been saying this 24 out of the last 25 weeks?

BITTER BEER FACE!!!

Either way, this thread will getting bumped Sunday night. Ice, if you feel that strongly about it, you should not only grab the Bengals +10, but place a smaller bet on the money line - might be in the +300 range.

I'm a Bills fan the rest of this season. Beat everyone on your schedule, Bills! Go, Drew baby!! Rip 'em up, Willis!!
-
You're right, but it wouldn't have mattered on that day. The Steelers thumped the Patriots soundly. I, for one, want to see what happens if/when they play in the playoffs - the Steelers woofed long and loud and talked smack afterwards. Plus, there's always the bonus of yet another Bill Cowher team self-destructing in the playoffs.

The Patriots' run defense has improved by leaps and bounds since the early year. They're getting better as the year is going on - as an example, you guys all saw what happened to McGahee in Foxboro. To me, the way to beat the Patriots is by throwing downfield.

Can't keep them on the shelves in Cambridge and Provincetown.
-
I can see how you might think this, seeing how the Patriots have such a history of uneven play and getting caught in 'trap' games.
-
Speaking as a Patriot fan, any team that can hang 29 on the Ravens with Ed Reed, Chris McAlister, etc. has to be reckoned with - especially when the Patsies are trotting out such legends as Don Davis (LB playing safety) and Randall Gay (UDFA) as STARTERS. High scoring game, but the Pats should take it - I'd be a lot more worried if this game was at Cincinnati.

If we played New England at home...

Brady's not having his best year, statistics be damned. I watch his games every week, so I'm comfortable in saying so. But I have the confidence that he'll be there when his team needs him. I agree with a lot of you when you bring up the 'team' argument. Of course Brady is better on the Patriots than if he was on, say, the 49ers. The same holds true for PeyTIN MANning in Indianapolis. But to say that Brady is not *a* reason that the Pats win is foolish. The pieces of the Patriots fit better than the pieces of any other team right now, save for Pittsburgh. Brady is the guy that makes the team go and the one they lean on when they absolutely must make a play (see SBs 36 and 38) I had a quote for a long time on my sig from Rodney Harrison regarding Brady - he was nervous about winning the game until he was reminded that Tom Brady was on his team. Not many teams have that kind of confidence in their QB, I'd care to wager. Oh, and go back to the '01 Patriots, and look at the skill position guys on that team: RBs Antowain Smith, K. Faulk, JR Redmond; WRs Troy Brown, David Patten, Charles Johnson and Fred Coleman; TEs Jermaine Wiggins and Rod Rutledge. Are they All-Pros?? Would PeyTIN won the SB with them? I say no. You guys rag Brady the same way that I rag Tin Manning, and that's fine - it's what rivals do to rivals. Most of the time, it's in good fun. At the end of the day, if you ask me whether I want TD records or championships, I'll take Brady and the championships over Manning and his stat books. -
Congratulations Bobby April

The immediate issue (meaning after this year) is the age of the Patriot LBs and secondary. The one bright side (if there is any) to the injuries of Law and Poole is that Dexter Reid, Randall Gay, etc. get to play meaningful minutes. This helped the Pats BIG TIME last year when the injured guys started coming back. Special teams are usually only noticed when they are atrocious, but your STs are reminicent of the '01 Pats. It helps the offense a lot. -
Congratulations Bobby April

I gave you Henry's #'s too - it was about "feature backs", and most of you guys thought McGahee would wrest the job from Henry. -

Things are doing here. There was a little matter of a suspension, followed by me moving. I'm back... for now. I need to bring up some business, however. There's the little matter of a lot of TBDers owing the Jimmy Fund a lot of money for losing some bets to ol' Foxboro Mike. I know AKC has to open the checkbook deep (among others), and I believe you and I had some wagers regarding team records (BUF, NE), Pats/Bills season series, Brady/Bledsoe, Dillon vs. Henry/McGahee, etc. I can dig them out at work, but if you know, I'd appreciate a check sent to The Jimmy Fund for whatever amount you're comfortable with. You can send it in the name of Drew Bledsoe, just to spite me. -
Remember the drinking game "BOB"?

Tommy Two Rings is 7-1 lifetime against the Bills. Maybe he'll be yawning next time he leaves RWS. Mission accomplished on creating animosity... Just be careful, guys. Granted, the league is top-heavy, but you didn't exactly beat a playoff team today. Good job by Drew and Co., however. -

I feel like I should say something in this thread, just not sure where to start. Rayzer!!! How you been, man? Is my man Helmet setting you straight? -
Congratulations on a division road win today.
