  1. With scarcity this is where we are headed but it's no reason to be 350 + pounds. Obviously this stuff will lead to future issues but that's not the principle issue I was talking about. My problem is that people would eat this **** even if it was laced with rat poison because it tastes good. I eat a lot of meat and veggies and there's a chance i'll have some form of cancer as a result when I'm older but I at least keep the odds in my favor by staying healthy (aside from the above). I'm quite certain I could go through the average diet of someone who is obese and probably cut it down considerably to the point where this person would in the long term not be obese. I doubt money is really that much of an issue. As I said, my parents survived on much much less. If the average person isn't really willing to do something to take care of themselves, then let Darwinism take its course.
  2. I don't know the issue about California to be honest but I will say that I know plenty of immigrants who survived on cheap food that wasn't necessarily "poison". I switched to meat and veggies which is much more expensive but you could easily feed a family with 99 cent pasta and some home made sauce. It amazes me how my parents who combined probably had five years of schooling could do so well with so little while our current generation seems to not have a !@#$ing clue.
  3. And here's where you go full out asshat again. So effectively, the average person pays roughly 10+K annually into a fund that is built to protect them from any health issues and yet they have to pay an inordinate amount of money more to actually get the treatment they actually need? Also another thing asshat, there is a strong consortium of citizens who are against private health care even being an option since it is unjust. Seriously you're !@#$ing dumber than dirt.
  4. So you're saying that we don't have the choice of this unhealthy lifestyle? Newsflash, those companies sell all over the world yet only one country seems to treat it as their "delicacy". There is plenty of healthy food out there for those who want it.
  5. See my free health care thread...
  6. Back in the 60's and 70's Montreal was Canada's fastest expanding city. Once the wrong politics were implemented many left. The final blow was handed in the 90's and (whatever is left in 2012). Now Toronto is the fastest growing city and Montreal is a bilingual **** hole. When the well to do say they're going to leave, they usually do.
  7. To be continued.
  8. Well we don't necessarily always have an ultimate winner, just minority or majority. Harper held the minority for a while and eventually got the majority which flipped out the lefties since they figured Canada would go into neo-con imperialist mode with our 6 jets and 2 submarines? Effectively what happened in 2010 was that Harper won the majority but since Quebec is strong left, they kicked out the Liberals and voted in the NDP as the representative minority which as I said earlier, was a bunch of amateurs with one true charismatic leader (layton RIP). The pros = You have the Liberals having to re-tool to find out why they got their asses handed to them and they are effectively kept in check. The cons = You now have a bunch of amateurs who will soon be eligible for lifetime pensions etc since extra government automatically brings extra cost.
  9. It is sad that you are one of the remaining level headed liberals on this site.
  10. You could look up north to get a good example. There are multiple parties in Canada but the Liberals and the Conservatives generally dominate. Of course a third party does put the rest on their heels but it's generally filled with amateurs (NDP). No matter which country you go with, people will generally be disenchanted with the political system because they feel that it doesn't fully represent them. Generally speaking, I want a socially liberal fiscally conservative party to be in control but it seems every party has their fringe.
  11. Yes racism exists. It's a part of life. You can't cure stupid but to label anyone that is against Obama as racist (which is becoming the main argument of MSNBC types) is dishonest.
  12. I believe the obesity rate is much lower in Canada in contrast to the US. I'd love to see the impact of the cost of adding all these people in bad health.
  13. http://www.montrealgazette.com/health/Cancer+patients+told+shop+around/7543579/story.html God bless this progressive society...
  14. To quote Al Smith Jr, "well mr President, it looks like a lot less people are having that problem this time around."
  15. It's quite sad that universities can't have the foresight not to invest their money in derivatives.
  16. Which models did Obama use to forecast he'd cut the deficit by half before the end of his first term? So yeah, he's a great campaigner but let's see how the country is doing in 2016. Can't find the ad but once again, I'm not a conservative pundit, I'm not even American. I am simply telling you how I see it since you know, I think for myself.
  17. Again, it wasn't taken out of context. I saw the whole speech and the Romney campaign ran a commercial playing the whole speech. Even at the end of the commercial, it was written, "it sounds even worse in context" so enough with that now will you? If you'd like to interpret Obama's whole speech differently, that's your choice but what I saw was someone who had complete disdain for the private sector.
  18. Certainly didn't sound that way now did it?
  19. The context was worse in the "you didn't build that" statement.
  20. It depends, really. If someone repeatedly said the asinine **** the lefty clones repeatedly say, then yes, most of us would call him an idiot to his face * *Unless he is 6 feet 4, 250 pounds and studied Krav Maga.
  21. Anyone who says most of the bad behavior comes from the right has obviously missed the 10 + threads a day by BF4E, DIN and his clones and a few others.
  22. That ship has sailed for me. Seems I always root for the losers, presidential candidates included.
  23. Why would Texas need foreign aid?
  24. Don't be a troll. Blacks don't vote for Obama because they are racist.
  25. If we can't separate here, it will never happen on your side.
