    You're right. We all prefer players that literally try to paralyze each other on the ice in hockey. Every sport has its faults but it gets annoying when every post starts with, "I watched but I don't think Americans will ever like soccer". Don't like it? Plenty of other things to watch on tv. Me? I adore it.

    I don't think so. I think it's mainly because for the group stages, they use refs from more countries which aren't up to the standards of the top leagues in Europe. As the knock out games start, it should get better.

    World Cup of soccer is also world cup of referees. They tend to take refs from all the leagues and many have never reffed a legitimate game in their life, let alone the world cup. The officiating get's better in the knockout rounds as more referees are from the European leagues.
