  1. It's hard to believe some things about Peters. We have to have the most UNATHLETIC, slowest Tight Ends in Pro Football. I don't think any of our TE's strike fear in any NFL defense. Supposedly admitted by the coaching staff and fans, Peters is a good blocker, has great hands, is athletically gifted, and is even unblockable, if he has to be on special teams. He is also so damn athletic, that he is a walking miracle of an athlete. Now, something doesn't add up. If our TE's are primarily used for blocking, and pretty much have no speed......why is Peters not able to crack the lineup, even though everyone thinks he's Jackie Slater, Ozzie Newsome and Lynn Swann all rolled into one super human being? PETERS ISN'T as good as people make him out to be.
  2. With how good everyone hear makes Peters out to be....Saturday Night Live should be coming out with a "Peters" skit to replace the previous "Ditka" skit. Jason Peters.....the best NFL player that can't start at any position, even though he's a stud at each one.
  3. Along the same lines.....I just read this article at work regarding fantasy football. I got a pretty good chuckle out of it. Some of these descriptions are actually dead on for some people! Good read. Good Article
  4. We are leaving Friday about 4 pm in that area. My car will be full. But, you are more than welcome to drive up / caravan with us. We will be stopping and eating and things. Makes for a little better trip. Just let me know.
  5. I didn't even know. Now all of a sudden they are showing rain and maybe some wind coming up the coast. Is it supposed to come up through NC? I-95 is a nightmare dry, let alone with some rain and wind. Ugh.
  6. This tropical storm located off of the coast of Florida. I hope this B word doesn't move up the coast and cause bad driving conditions early this weekend. I need to get to Buffalo unscathed, lol. I didn't know there was anything out there until I saw the Weather Channel this morning.
  7. Starting the trek from Richmond VA on Friday afternoon. Four of us total. Section 137, Row 32. I can't wait. We'll most likely be tailgating off of California road!!! Work will be sooooooooooooo long the next two days!
  8. This is about the stupidest post also. We finished they way we did because of the schedule and no other reason. If you can't figure that one out, you're an idiot. Do you think we should have beaten the Cleveland, Arizona's, Cincy's, and those teams of the world with our roster? Gee, yeah........so get excited that our schedule masked a problem for us. Some of us tend to think a little more critically. Again, you can't come up with any reasoning for my post except an attempt at your normal comic relief. The schedule doesn't have a bunch of patsies at the end this year, and an 0-4 start, if it would happen (hopefully not), would wreck our season. MOST OF US DON'T WANT THAT TO HAPPEN AGAIN. So, we see problems NOW and would like to see progress. I haven't really seen anything yet this pre-season from the offense that says we'll be ok. And if you morons think this defense is the same as Baltimore's when they won the Super Bowl, well, you're sadly mistaken. However, it is a very good defense, and can support winning ugly........against bad teams. We were a product of our schedule last season. But don't worry, everything looks great. We have a D and ST ready to win now, but the offense is no cause for concern I guess. Ever coach football? I can't imagine you did, because you are exactly the kind of idiot I'd like to spank on the field. We've had two scrimmages in high school football this season and we've tried to win BOTH. Did it matter if we lost? No. But we did try to get better. Oh, we are 17-3 over the last two years, and I'll post the article when we win the state championship this year. Well hopefully. Get over yourself man! Seriously. At least I'm on the field, and some of the stuff here spewed about vanilla coverages and all of that is so stupid it's not funny. I guess our VANILLA offense, isn't good enough to whip their VANILLA defense they played against. It is cause for concern. If you don't have concern about the O-Line especially, well keep telling yourself that......but make it comical and macho-like on the internet, because most of you igmo's make yourself feel better by acting like you know the world's answers with tough internet speak. See ya on the field sometime......or wait, you've probably never touched a field or have seen a film session before. Sorry, tough guy, we all have different opinions, you can settle for another out of the playoffs season, but some of us would like more.
  9. You must have been one of the people who inserted this when we were 0-1, while losing to a non-playoff team at home last year. Or, when we went 0-2, losing to a pathetic team on the road last year. Or, when we dropped to 0-3 after taking an ass-beating at home by the first good team we played. Or, 0-4 when we choked away a late game lead for the 2nd time in 4 weeks on the road. Oh, by the way, we finished 9-7, and missed the playoffs by one game. But don't worry. I'll start the "fight" now, while hoping we can defeat the real "pussies" (Texans) instead of waiting until we are in week 5 this season.
  10. I agree, and see your point. However, I'm not going to adjust expectations for a young QB to take over when he is taking over a team that has the #2 ranked defense in the league and the best special teams. And those two teams are still in tact, except for Pat Williams. I WHOLLY fault the front office this season IF this offense isn't able to move the ball to help out the other two "teams" on the Bills. Handing the job without competition to a young QB with the team in a win now position is pretty stupid, IMO. Not helping out on the line more with a young QB is even more dumb, IMO. So, if the Bills were 4-12, or 5-11 and rebuilding their roster, I'd take 2-14 this year with a year of progress for the QB. However, this roster, all but the offense, is ready to win now, and it's not very smart to hand the QB job to JP, and more importantly, go with a suspect line to protect that young QB who has some good weapons. The O-line worries me 100% more than JP does.
  11. "Wearing down" was only part of the Bears' problem in 2004. Ogunleye - who led the AFC in sacks the year before - missed four games. Urlacher missed seven. Neither of the projected starters at CB (Azumah and Tillman) ended up starting more than 8 games. And playmaking SS Mike Brown shredded his Achilles tendon in Week 2. Except for Azumah, they all played last night. That, I'll agree with. I kind of expected what I saw against Chicago, but I was disappointed by the performance in the first two games. And if anything should happen to BigMike, Greg Jerman didn't do anything to change my (low) opinion of him last night..... 420286[/snapback] I don't care what the excuses are. The Bears aren't a good football team. And the fact that the Bears offense is bad, obviously makes the defense even worse. But let's not forget, if you want to try to make the Bears seem like something they aren't, they were a below average defense, albeit with injuries AND bad offense contributing, in a HORRIBLE NFC conference also. So, they were bad ......pretty much against other bad teams. That might have been the worst year in NFC Football history as far as quality teams. So, how good could they have been? Their offense last night, provided the same recipe as last year, we couldn't capitalize. That is troubling. Write the same game report and subsitute Indianapolis for Buffalo. How would the Colts match up with the Bears? Think the Bears could stop them? Hell no. OK, now, match up the Colts with the Patriots. Think the Patriots could stop them? Hell yes. Now, the problem is.......we couldn't do anything with the Bears defense, although we'll see the Pats defense TWICE this year. Not to mention other good teams that are much better than the Bears on both sides of the ball. That, to me, is cause for concern.
  12. Yeah, because the 0-3 didn't cost us at all right? Not to mention 0-4, or 1-5. Hey, it'll be ok, don't worry. ONE GAME. 0-1, 0-2, 0-3, and 0-4 hurt just as bad. And yeah, the O put up 27, against the Pack. But did they look really sharp? And, I think the Packers are going to suck this year. The "don't worry" crowd, doesn't worry until it's too late. Ask the 9-7 Bills last year!
  13. Yeah. I think we all expected some INT's, which is good. However, JP hasn't really taken any shots down the field either. So, when they finally let him, will that come back to bite him? That's another concern along with the positive.
  14. LOL, yeah ok. We'll see this year. As a matter of fact, PM me every week, and we'll see if we can't make a wager on the Bears D each week. We'll see how much confidence you have in that Bears defense......a reloaded one apparently.....this season. I need to make some extra money.
  15. More like bottom third of the league. The Bears aren't a good football team period. I would trade being in a division with them, over anyone in our own division. The usually got worn down last season because their offense was so bad. Some of the same stuff we should have done to them yesterday. It went to script with our D, but the O has been abysmal. But the line......the line, has looked bad this pre-season so far. That's what I'm really worried about.
  16. I have no idea what this has to do with anything! Ummmm, but OK.
  17. Yeah I know. For some reason, when the Bills come calling, the Bears are all of a sudden the Monsters of the Midway again. Even though they were ranked 21st on defense in the league last year. I know, I know, the 21st ranking was because their offense was so bad right? Well here's a newsflash, the Bears offense was pathetic last night too, and we really didn't make them pay. The Bears were 21st in a horrible NFC. Seems to me like everyone has a case of Lou Holtz disease, trying to make the Bears seem a little better than they actually are. We should have shown a little more last night. Just a little. Not 35 points, but ANYTHING would be good.
  18. That's a vaild point. I agree with that 100%. One positive.
  19. No, try again. My excitement is the same at the beginning of the season no matter who we throw out there. JP is going to be the QB of a VETERAN team. I don't give a DAMN, how old he is. Or that he is essentially a rookie, or whatever. He's the guy that the staff chose to lead a veteran club without competition. If it takes him 3 seasons to mature, this Bills team will vastly different, and most likely we won't have the Defense and ST's we have now. Gradual improvement yes. That's fine. But NOBODY on the offense looks good yet. NOBODY. And I'm so sick and fuggin tired of people here saying it's only pre-season. Which then carries into "It's only 0-1, 0-2, 0-3, and then we miss the playoffs by ONE GAME. The offense looks like crap. The line looks the worse so far. JP hasn't done anything to show his potential YET, except make a few runs. The WR's, are they even here? And the RB's have looked painfully average. I do think, however, that most of this is basically because of the line play for the most part. We'll see, but damn, we have to be a little better than we are.
  20. This is about the stupidest thing also. No one says we have to win the game. However, let's see the offense do SOMETHING. We could lose 35-7 for all I care, but let's see the OFFENSIVE starters show something. Take care of business, get out of the game. WE aren't seeing that yet.
