You are dead on Promo. He is going to play for a contender for far less than even the restructured deal that we would offer him. His agents second proposal was a "hey look we tried our best to stay in Buffalo" ploy. I can't say that I blame him. He probably only has 2 or 3 good seasons left in him. If he is going to start over again, like he is here for the 5th time in his career, he might as well go someplace where he can win a title.

Good point Griz. I think that it certainly gives the Bills the upperhand. They can restructure his contract and he will still get significantly more now than he would on the open market. It also limits the number of contenders out there that can bid for his services. That could be why the Bills have waited to release him, anticipating the situation that we have now.
