umm the big difference is training and then residency. Oh, and difficult board certification. It's like the difference between a lawyer and paralegal (actually that difference is often smaller in terms of years of schooling). But you go to AI when there's a difficult dx. That'll serve you right...and I wouldn't wish you on my colleagues.

their was no incentive for doctors to cheat unless their hospital coerced them to change codes, I don't know of any E/M codes (which decide how much docs are paid per visit) whose value was changed due to covid. DRG's which are used for hospital reimbursement were changed. Perhaps there were a few physician owned hospitals caring for covid pt's but if so it's a tiny minority. They did make telephone and internet visits payable under medicare but all visits were eligible, not only covid visits. no financial advantage to docs there either. in fact off site visits generally pay less and are based on time. many, if not most doctors incomes dropped during covid. I was actually asked to forgo a paycheck because the system was supposedly hurting.
