Buffalo @ Philadelphia Game Thread - 1st half
stlbills13 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Blown up -
There are reasonable paths to a wild card spot but my main focus the rest of the way is rooting against the Dolphins. I still think the division is the most likely path. Need them to drop a game to the Jets and then lose to Dallas and Baltimore. Plus I just hate the Dolphins so it's honestly pretty easy to root against them.

Week 12: Buffalo Bills vs Philadelphia Eagles
stlbills13 replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Von Miller pass rush where he ends up 10 yards behind the QB is something that can't happen in this game or else Hurts is going to run for 200 himself. And we need the secondary to get healthy quickly. But it always comes down to the offense with this team. Good showing last week against an elite defense. Keep Allen upright and I really like our chances for a huge win heading into the bye -
Just win baby. Margin for error is very low but you can't tell me the Bills can't do this Beat the eagles in a game where the eagles have a short week. The eagles are more vulnerable on defense than in the past. No goedert is a big loss for their schemes too. Beat the chiefs coming off a bye. The chiefs are still good and I still may even consider them the afc favorites but they aren't the same chiefs. The bye is huge. Beat the cowboys at home. They've actually been great lately but dak is due to dak sometime soon Beat the chargers. Who can't do this? Beat the patriots at home At that point you may not even need to beat the dolphins. But to me they're a good team that just don't match up well against QBs that can actually make plays.

I don't have a problem with the play concept. I do think the Eagles line up illegally and/or move early at times. But that could be said a lot in a typical game. If you really want to stop it you have to sell out and put 11 big guys out there. Who cares if hurts pulls it out and throws and easy td to a wr. Same result as them just sneaking it in and maybe you get lucky on an easy drop Another way to stop it is probably to play dirty. Even if hurts scores, a late hard hit makes you think to do it again later

Brady actually utilized his players' strengths as well as concepts that work in the NFL in 2023. The bye week will be very very interesting as that will be a chance to really let him update the playbook a bit. You have to win one of @Philly or @KC. Just being more unpredictable is a huge thing. Not just unpredictable from play calls but unpredictable with how the team lines up.

Great rhythm on offense even on the punts. Defense was active. Great game. The eagles will actually protect their qb and they have some scary wrs. But they'll be on a short week against a bills team that may have found some confidence
-
The best path to the playoffs is still the division. But yeah I'm not complaining here.

I sure hope all this sadness around Dorsey being fired is just because that's how they think they're supposed to act. Diggs is the only one showing a re-energized mindset.

Will Fournette play?
-
Not related to either blitz but didn't want to start a whole thread on it. How many times after a Bills touchdown does our defense give up a big play on the first snap? That game was over as soon as Denver gained like 17 yards on a little dump off on first down.

Fire McDermott - 12 On the Field INEXCUSABLE
stlbills13 replied to WEATHER DOT COM's topic in The Stadium Wall
13 seconds 12 men Only 11 more ridiculous losses in the McDermott era -
I expect more runs, more play action, more under center. Whether Joe Brady is a fan of any of that or not.
-
I mean I almost voted yes because if he's still here that means the Bills played in the Super Bowl. But all things equal, it's time to move on. He brought the franchise back to life but even Jesus himself only stayed around another 40 days or so after the resurrection and then he put it in the hands of someone else. It's time to do that in Buffalo too.
-
Frazier gone. Still can't get the big stop/big play. Dorsey gone. Does the offense turn it around? If the answer is no, the Bills will be in the market for a new head coach in 2 months.
-
The only possible way to salvage this season was to do something big like this. It may not work or the hole may be too deep but they know they had to do something. It's not even just about getting the offense going. A message was just sent to everyone in the building.
-
No idea on Brady but he knows he has to run the ball and he has to get Allen under center
-
There are a lot of problems on this team. And unfortunately, Josh Allen is one of them. He just doesn't seem to have the same preparation, focus, intensity, energy as he has in the past. Some of that is the moronic coaching of trying to rein him in too far. Some of it is probably injury making it harder to do all of that while constantly rehabbing, being in pain, etc. But some of it is definitely that I just don't see the effort from him. Maybe it's his personal life. Maybe it's just who he is. But it's a problem.

Dan Orlovsky….. Bills offense is fundamentally broken
stlbills13 replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Orlovsky has been right about a lot of things regarding the Bills this season but he's gotten to the point of being annoying and repetitive now. -
I'm sure today/tomorrow we will hear from McDermott, Dorsey, Allen, Von, etc. "We know we are close to turning it around" "It's just time to have some urgency" "We have to take care of the ball" "I have to play better" "I'm not worried yet" "There's a lot of belief in this locker room" Nothing is going to change. Pegula will keep McDermott. McDermott will keep Dorsey. Allen will keep turning it over. etc I actually don't think the season is completely lost. I see this team playing to the level of each of their final 7 opponents meaning all the games are winnable. But they may not win any of them if there aren't drastic changes. It's November 14th. You are 5-5. It's time for drastic changes even if you believe the season is lost.

Will a win over the Jets to get to 6-5 bring everyone back in?!?!
stlbills13 replied to DBilz2500's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes assuming the win is with an interim coach and interim OC and we found a way to get Marvin Harrison Jr eligible and on the roster for the game and we got out of Von's contract for free and Milano and Daquan came back -
