  1. This is absolutely a positive performance from the rookie QB. Looked shaky at times, but I’ll take it as it’s against a very good defense and he never lost his head and made big plays at key moments. Needed to drive down the field late in the 4th for a FG to win. Check. Win. Most important to me (admittedly unscientific) is that he just seems like a winner. His teammates are all in. I just hope he stays healthy—he will continue to improve.
  2. Me too. He was an exciting player to watch for a brief period. Can't see why he shouldn't get another chance. Others are in the league who have been guilty of far worse than struggling with drugs.
  3. I just listened to Weezer's cover of "Africa." It's so good, it gave me the chills a little.
  4. Very good that he gets some actual prison time. He is an unrepentant monster. I hope at this moment he is feeling deep and genuine fear and terror, more than he has ever known before.
  5. Oh my goodness. My daughter is 7. Just heartbreaking. That picture of Sweet Sally!
  6. Yeah, I agree. It's a mess. Also very confusing and inconsistent: the occasional blowing of a whistle when a QB is ruled "in the grasp" or "forward momentum" stopped. This usually is the call when it's an excuse to take away a forced fumble from the Bills defense. Also, to some extent, intentional grounding is all over the place in terms of how it's interpreted.
  7. If I may make a suggestion: The Tamp Bay Bucs are very fun to watch at the moment.
  8. Blah blah blah...blow it out your ass, Vontae. Four shout outs to God, but no apology or mention of the teammates and fans that he selfishly left hanging. I don't understand how someone would want to go out like that. I think it's a shameful way to end a career. If you can't play, that's understandable. Announce it later in the week. But the way he handled it, it was a slap in the face to a lot of people. Vontae will be remembered for this stupid gesture probably more than anything else he's done. What a dipschytte.
  9. I've liked Max for a long time, especially on HBO's boxing coverage. But lately, he has become annoying. He talks a little to much and thinks not quite enough, trying to get a reaction. It's the same kind of hasty, hot-take invective that is very much in fashion in not just sports commentary, but society at large.
  10. Maybe the more serious problem is the backup QB situation. Josh is in a precarious position, taking lots of hits, not well protected at all and having to run for first downs more than anyone is comfortable with. And still Peterman is the only alternative. Something needs to be done about that.
  11. Can't argue with that. It is a serious problem. The kid deserves better. He shouldn't have to take it upon himself to call out the defense to play better as a rookie in his first start either. Luckily, he seems to have the poise, backbone and leadership to take all this stuff upon himself and do it pretty gracefully in my opinion. I think Allen has shown himself very well so far, all things considered.
  12. This is absolutely unacceptable! This kind of behavior cannot be tolerated. Why anyone, in this day and age, would still be taking cellphone videos in the vertical position...it's unforgiveable.
  13. The crappy thing with Vontae isn’t that he left the team short handed—we can agree that he wasn’t contributing all that much. It’s the message it sends to his teammates (like Lorax) who are still out there, in a bad spot, getting embarrassed, but still fighting. Vontae, in effect, says “I don’t need this **** show—I’m outta here.” It’s dispiriting. Salt in the wounds of his teammates. It’s not just disrespectful—it’s agressively ****ty. Good riddance.
  14. Vontae Davis just looked up the word “guaranteed” on dictionary.com.
  15. Me too. He’s one of my favorite NFL players ever. One of the true journeyman greats.
  16. Reading lots of criticism for Josh, but if you look at the numbers, he's doing quite well considering. It's like an above average Tyrod Taylor performance. If the D shows up AT ALL in the first half, this is a competitive game.
  17. I would actually give favorable odds for the Bills special teams or defense to get the first TD of the year, over the offense.
