After the week Mayfield is having, I think Damar noses back ahead of him for Comeback Player.

Particularly in light of Damar making no errors today.

    Flacco?

It's close. Both Hamlin and Flacco have played 5 games.

But Hamlin has zero turnovers and Flacco has 8 INTs and 4 fumbles so I give it to Hamlin... zero turnovers.

It’s complete horse 💩…either the ref is an incompetent moron and should be fired immediately for not knowing how to ref a game or he’s dirty and blew off decker clearly trying to report. Until the NFL holds refs accountable for making mistakes we will always have this BS that taints an otherwise awesome sporting event.

Fix the problem by making them full time and accountable to get suspended and fired for doing a bad job. No more “tenured” lifetime gigs for these dudes with no repercussions for sucking at your job

Interestingly the Referee is Brad Allen and he's widely considered to be one of the top 2-3 referees in the league.

I wonder how Jack Campbell is doing this year. I wanted him so bad in the draft to replace Edmunds.

All I know is that he's started 10 of 15 games. I don't know if he's been starting more or less lately.

The 92 yarder aside, why can’t the Bills do with Diggs what the Cowboys are doing for Lamb tonight?

Lamb is a lot more explosive than Diggs.

So I haven't even been watching this game and I thought well let me check the score out. 7 to 3 in the third quarter. We have a real barn burner going here don't we boys

The intensity level on both sides is very high. The players are going hard.

You really only need a decent oline to run on dime personnel

Plus it's the Cowboys. They're a bit soft against the run.

Rewording it and added more info.  No bombing.

A former coworker of mine had his heart stopped [Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA)] while he was in the dentist chair.

The dentist had been trained and restarted his heart.

He was prohibited from flying (just like Poyer was) and he was responsible for lead on upcoming Yokota Air Base install in Japan.

On Christmas eve I was called from deployment lead.

I was asked if my passport was still valid which I confirmed.

I was sent on day after Christmas to Yokota Air Base in Japan to lead install replacing my friend.

Not a good trip for me.

    Limeaid,

Sorry for being a smartass... I understood your story the first time. Just trying to blow off some steam and have a little fun this weekend.

Kudos for all you've done and all you do.

You installed a new heart in your former coworker?

A good read.  It's about more than the contract.  Payton is just a stubborn guy, stuck in his ways and refuses to adapt.

A good coach will adjust his scheme to fit his players strengths, not hammer a square peg into a round hole.

Yes, the decision to severe the relationship with Russ goes beyond finances.

"This is the kind of player Payton wants at quarterback. Someone who has the ability to know his offense on a molecular level — calls, checks, route concepts, blocking, schedule, construction of the plan, etc. — then the focus to carry it all out with the repetitive efficiency of a Xerox machine. This is how Kyle Shanahan wants his offense. It’s how Sean McVay wants his offense. And it’s definitely how Payton wants his offense. When a quarterback isn’t getting that job done in an overwhelmingly high percentile of his drops, the clock begins ticking on his tenure. It’s how Jared Goff became Matthew Stafford. It’s how Jimmy Garoppolo became Trey Lance and Lance became Brock Purdy. And now it’s how Russell Wilson will become someone else manning the controls in Denver."

I’m looking for some 12/13 personnel this week, protect Josh, work the middle, ball control nice 28-0 victory.

Wouldn't we be called for too many men?

I realize New England cheats but I don't think that's a good reason for us to.

This is incorrect.   I think you are confusing 2018 with 2008.  The Bills had a ***** ton of cap space and signing free agents wasn’t a problem.  They just signed a lot of bad deals.

I'm not talking about having money. I'm talking about being an attractive destination to quality players.

Star, Vontae Davis, and Trent Murphy signed with a 9-7 team which backed into the playoffs. This is the best a team can get when they're not an attractive destination.

It was only after Josh showed he was an up and coming star that the Bills could attract a higher level of player such as Stefon Diggs, Von Miller, John Brown, Cole Beasley, and Mitch Morse. These players would have had little to no interest in playing for Buffalo were it not for Josh Allen.

@Heavy Kevi, You weren't even close!

Just to put it in perspective I said Kincaid would have 90 receptions this year and it looks like he'll end up with about 70. This means I'm off by a factor of 1.28.

You guessed that Collins was 600 and he's only 30... you're off by a factor of 20.

How is anyone supposed to give any credence to anything you say ever again?

I think you just set a TSW record for wrongness!!!

After seeing Star Lotulelei in action, it quickly became clear he is tied for Brandon Beane’s biggest FA bust along with Trent Murphy - also signed in 2018.

Jones is the player that Beane thought he was signing in Star.

In fairness to Beane, no one wanted to play for the Buffalo Bills in 2017.

However by 2022, tons of players wanted to be on the same team as Josh Allen.

No evidence, no but it was weird when he started tweeting about Rae Carruth.

    The Browns D is elite.

There O-line is decimated with injuries.

Flacco still turns the ball over a ton

They have played mostly garbage teams with garbage QBs.

Yes their D is championship level but they have not shown up in a couple games this year

To the bolded, in 5 games this year Flacco has thrown 8 INTs and has fumbled 4 times.

    In 5 games.

I don't see how they can call up Isabella and have him active, though I guess it's possible.  He's never taken a PR or KR in a game though, so is Dec in OP really the time and place to start? I'm guessing Ty Johnson would handle the PR duties - didn't he do them in preseason?  He has experience going back there as a KR for DET and the NYJ. I would guess Harty's being benched so that the Bills can roll with an extra DLman (and because he muffed a punt last week)

I believe Shakir also returned punts during the preseason.

I think two things are helping our ranking here:

    1) Continuity. I can't remember the last time the Bills had so many consecutive games with the same starting 5. IIRC McGovern missed the first game, but otherwise the starting 5 has never changed. That is massively important. I doubt more than a couple other teams have this advantage.

    2) Relative lack of good OL play across the league. The individual rankings above don't scream "top 5 OL" but most teams have just average OLs right now. I doubt there is a ton of separation between say the 5th best OL and the 20th best OL, at least not enough to make a real difference. There are a couple extremes at both ends and then a lot of average in the middle.

    3) Very good O-Line Coach in Aaron Kromer

    4) Elite Quarterback in Josh Allen. Arguably the most difficult QB in the NFL to sack.

Hate Von for his off field stuff.

Just don’t hate him because he hasn’t lived up to his contract due to injury.

    Exactly.

The Bills should have left him on IR the entire season.  I guress they thought he'd play himself into game shape.  Which is crazy since they see him every day in practice and know what he can and can't do.

Don't you think the fact they see him in practice should give them the benefit of the doubt?

There is a HUGE mental aspect of ACL surgery and recovery. You are very cautious and at times, mentally hesitant when it comes to putting stress or making certain moves with the affected leg.

When we signed Von, his play before the injury was what we were hoping for.

I feel once playoff time comes, he will be 80-90%.

The bolded is a point I made upthread. The biggest hurdle for Von Miller is mental and there's no telling when he might cross that threshold of confidence.

    18 hours ago, mjt328 said:

Coaches have the ability to watch Von Miller during practice, and see how he's progressing.  I don't understand the point of putting him into live game action, when they know the man can't even turn the corner.  Let him run around tackling dummies 30-40 extra times during the week, until you know he's ready to actually make an impact.

This week he got more snaps than Leonard Floyd, Shaq Lawson and Kingsley Jonathan.  I just don't understand why.

I don't think that practice reps are going to get Miller back to where we all want him to be and obviously the Bills feel the same way.

I think fans second-guessing the Bills recovery plan for Miller is silly.

A.J Epenesa if returns this Sunday. D-Line looks like almost full strength for Sunday. He was playing great before injury.

True but AJ still has to work on his gap integrity and rush lane awareness.
