Would be too bad if Baltimore broke Lamar trying to get him MVP votes running him in the red zone.
Wow. That was such a half-hearted "rushing attempt" by Lamar.
He didn't want anything to do with that line of scrimmage.
2 minutes ago, scuba guy said:Sorry Josh would have scored that td
Probably. He certainly wouldn't have ***** footed like Lamar did.

Lamar just moved from +100 to -115.
I'm sure Miami's D will show Him what's up.
7 minutes ago, boyst said:What a joke. Miami's defense is night and day ro the niners. They can cut off the under routes, press zone coverage, use linebackers to step up on Jackson.
Miami's defense has played well even with the considerable loss of Jaelan Phillips.
Vic Fangio's system is really trending in a good direction for the Dolphins.

Ouch. What a disastrous night for San Francisco.

Regardless of how you feel about Lamar Jackson, the Ravens OC Todd Monken has done a nice job with his offense.

McDermott vs. Shanahan
It's true that Shanahan is universally regarded as a master strategist.
That said the biggest blemishes on his career are his 2 Super Bowl appearances.
His horrific playcalling in the New England-Atlanta Super Bowl arguably cost the Falcons the game and his performance against KC is still questioned in the Bay Area.
Just now, H2o said:I said it in the MVP thread, that it should be CMC. CMC would be a monster with or without Purdy. Purdy wouldn't be having nearly the success he's had without CMC. He's gonna have well over 2,000 total yards and 25 or more total TD's.
CMC is a great player but he's also the recipient of a very strong run blocking O-line as well as great downfield blockers in Kyle Juszczyk, George Kittle and Deebo Samuel.
He might get the best run blocking in the league.

I remember maybe 8-10 years ago when I wanted the bills to sign Trent Williams and everyone told me he was too old. Lol. Edit- I guess it was 4-5 years ago
I also saw the replays of Purdys picks. Only one was bad the others were unlucky tips. Hardly anything to really blame on him.Isn't it the QBs fault when his passes are tipped?

And if yes, how does that stack up to previous RB seasons and MVP winners
I believe Adrian Peterson was the last RB to win MVP... in 2012.

Or they've padded their record feasting off NFC softies......
It's really hard to say how good San Francisco is. Their best wins are over Dallas, Philly, and they've also beaten the Seahawks twice and the Rams once.
They've lost to Cleveland, Minnesota, Cinci, and the Raiders.
Like many I think their biggest question mark is QB. Excellent O-line and skill position players surround him...
They're certainly good enough to win the Super Bowl but not head and shoulders above other top teams.
I would lean towards the Bills beating them in the Super Bowl just because how could you pick Brock Purdy over Josh Allen?
-
It was alluded to earlier in this topic but there has been some noise for SF OT Trent Williams for MVP.
I don't think it's possible but his name does come up.
McCaffrey is awesome but he does get awesome blocking too.

That’s why Lamar will win mvp
Lamar's the most feared QB in the league when the defense loses containment.

All these turnovers and you're up by 1? Not a good sign for the Ravens.
Yup. Field goals are usually for losers.

Justin Tucker can't be the leading scorer if Baltimore is to win.

Our guy does it too. We can’t pick and choose. Hes been great this year, as has Allen.
Purely from a football standpoint I don't believe Lamar is in the same class as Josh.

The FG is a win for SF.
Lamar was brutal on that "possession."

i can not tolerate another second of a mahomes/reid/kelce commercial.
They are worse than peyton manning. Manning I do not think ever said no to a single endorsement or self promotion opportunity and these guys are worse.I cant stand them all.
The problem with the Mannings is now Eli and even Dad Archie are making commercials.
Make it stop already.

I understand the theory that we want Baltimore to lose tonight so that they're "hungrier" against Miami next week...
Is there any reason we would want Baltimore to win this game?

Watching QB play around the league I’m reminded how much Josh Allen is worth the price of admission. He is the most entertaining to watch by far.
Yes.
Also, watching Josh on a regular basis completely changes your evaluation of other QBs.
For the most part watching other QBs is a very unsatisfying experience. Why did he do that? Why didn't he do this?
I think the thing I notice the most is how easily other QBs are sacked.

That holding call was a gift
On the other hand, why did Darby think it was necessary?

And then they cut away to a shot of the referee laughing.
Talk about a lack of self-awareness...

Bad deal for Lamar though... does he get penalized if the Ref isn't involved in the play?

The 49ers have 4 skill players that would probably be the best skill player on our team right now. 3 for sure, Aiyuk a maybe.
Yes, but the question persists... how good is their quarterback?
Almost be default he's being touted as an MVP candidate however some around the team believe that McCaffrey is the team MVP and that Purdy benefits from the excellence that he's surrounded by.

I think the magnitude of this game warrants a separate thread.
Two great teams... playoff implications...
The Niners are a 6.5 point favorite.

Back not all that long ago there was a Chinese restaurant on Monroe Ave in Rochester/Brighton called the house of Poon…
Are you sure it was a restaurant or is restaurant a euphemism? (nudge, nudge, wink, wink)
Honestly I'm just glad to see the Bills D both playing better and getting healthier.
DaQuan should be back soon and I'm hoping for Micah and Epenesa's returns too.

We’re starting to see that Allen is already at the Andrew Luck level, a guy people are already pushing for the HOF.
Allen keeps this up for 10 years and he will be remembered the way Hasek is in the NHL. Known as a great goalie during his time, but only appreciated as one of the GOATs after his career ended and people became gobsmacked after looking at his stats.
6 hours ago, ChronicAndKnuckles said:Not to derail the thread, but Luck is not a HOFer.
Not only is Luck not a HOFer but anyone who's even a casual fan of the NFL can clearly see that Josh's career trajectory is a HOF one. He and Mahomes are obviously on schedule for Canton.
