  1. I love Nance and Romo for a few reasons.

    1) They're good.

    2) They seem like good people.

    3) They're unabashed Bills fans... they don't even try to hide it.

Because of the above I'm deaf to any criticism of them.

IMO Klein has never been a below average LB. There are limitations to his game that the team masks well but also, that he more than makes up for in other aspects of his game.

The thing I simply can't wrap my head around is Dodson starting. I thought he looked lost last year and it was his 3rd year in the system. Maybe I'm wrong and the difference between him succeeding and failing is less than I think.

A few months before this revived topic I posted the above about AJ Klein.

Yes, this is a look at me, I was right post. Sue me.

I loved that tackle on Najee Harris... the one that looked like he was steer wrestling.

I'm glad McDermott understands how to play to the strengths of his players and doesn't simply discard them as unfit for his scheme.

What impressed me the most tonight was that late in the game on two drives after the Steeler's threatened to make it a game Allen led the Bills to a FG and a TD.  Those 10 points won the game and some people a lot of money.  Allen was cool and collected and absolutely lethal on those two drives.

IDK why there is that narrative by some that Josh chokes in big moments. In playoff and must win games, he has been pulled through way more than not. The bad OT record is not on him.

I expected Josh to play a virtually mistake-free game today.

This belief was based partly on Josh's past playoff record as you guys point out.

It was also based on the fact that he seems to be taking the layups much more than he was earlier in the season. I've said before that Dorsey's biggest failure as OC was his inability to reign in Josh's worst impulses.

Joe Brady has Josh playing much more like he did under Daboll... maybe even more disciplined than that.

Josh could do a Tom Brady impersonation all game long if he wanted to. He's deadly accurate in the short, horizontal passing game.

He can’t even get voted All-Pro or the crappy Pro Bowl.  It’s astonishing

On top of the fact that he was never a front runner for MVP.

How many NFL GMs would take Lamar Jackson over Josh Allen?

    The answer is zero.

And 16th rushing TD In a season...No other QB has this record.

They mentioned this in the broadcast of the game and it didn't seem right to me so I checked.

This year Josh and Jalen tied for the regular season NFL record for QB rushing TDs with 15.

Last year Jalen Hurts had 13 rushing TDs in the regular season and 5 rushing TDs in the playoffs... total of 18.

As much as I love Jim, Josh is the best QB to ever play here.  I dont know if he will ever win a Super Bowl but the guy is the closest thing to Brett Farve I've seen.   He is chaos personified.

Big Jimbo fan but even he commented earlier this year that Josh is the best Bills QB ever. I was surprised the comments didn't get more play... probably local media trying to show Jimbo respect by not making a big deal about it.

Did you see all the post season passing + running stats records he has now. Even games won by a certain age.
The funny thing is no one here would say he’s a stats guy. He wants to win.

There are QBs whose stats make you think they might be better than they are (I'm looking at you, Tua and Justin H).

Josh Allen is the opposite... a QB for whom stats don't even begin to reflect his greatness.

Josh drives me nuts at times, and I've always said he is the 2nd best QB in the NFL.  That said, I am starting to think he is the best player in the game right now, turnovers or not.

One thing is for sure... Josh and Mahomes are the 2 best, head and shoulders. There are some QBs that are ascending as we speak but they are not yet in the same class as the Big 2.

Hands down. Kelly was surrounded by HOF talent and that’s not to take anything away from him. He’s a great QB, but Allen has the potential to be top 5 all time if he can get at least a couple rings

I've been following the Bills since 1968. I vividly recall Dan Darragh, Ed Rutkowski, Tom Flores, and Kay Stephenson attempting to impersonate a QB for the Bills.

I would like to see a Super Bowl win as much as anyone but... Josh is my favorite Bills (and NFL) player of all time and I'm so appreciative that Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold were drafted so that we could have Josh as a Buffalo Bill. If they don't win one in my lifetime, I'll still be grateful for and fondly remember the Josh Allen era. It's been at least as exciting and enjoyable as the Super Bowl years.

  6. Posted in another topic but worth repeating here:

Injured LBs this season: Milano, Bernard, Dodson, Spector. We’re now playing our 5th and 6th LBs in Dorian Williams and AJ Klein.

Injured CBs this year: Tre’Davious White, Christian Benford, Rasul Douglas. We’re now playing our 4th and 5th CBs in Dane Jackson and Kaiir Elam. Taron Johnson out so we’re playing Cam Lewis.

How many NFL teams could be this deep into their roster and still field a respectable defense?

BTW, I believe Von Miller crossed into a higher level of confidence today so we should have an improved pass rush for whatever remains.

I'm awaiting tomorrow's injury report with bated breath.

If Murray doesn’t show you anything today, he needs to be cut and Fournette added full-time.

The only thing Fournette showed last week was that he was undependable as a pass blocker. He didn't give the Bills anything that Murray hadn't provided previously.

It was weird because they threw the ball on 2nd and 4 so you'd think they weren't running out the half.

All I'm saying is look at a U.S. map and where K.C. is located and where the nearest teams are to them and how much territory they can take up.

It's probably not about where geographically a city is... more likely a function of market size.

Ha Beane find us a punter like that

The Bills punter Sam Martin won the Special Teams player of the Month for December.

It would be a nice story for Flacco and the Browns but I hope Stroud gets a W to show that DeMeco and him turned that franchise around.

I think Stroud and DeMeco have already accomplished that mission.

A bunch of the Texans defense listed their high school.  Did they not play in college, or do just some players prefer to list their hs?

Pretty common practice. I've even heard some players mention only their hometown.

Preseason I said that Kincaid would be second in receptions after Diggs. I was right.

I also said he would score 10 TDs.

I read in the Bflo News this morning that Kincaid's 73 receptions this year are the 4th most in NFL history by a rookie tight end.

While it was not the best season by a rookie tight end this year, historically it is one of the best seasons by a rookie tight end.

    Kudos again to Brandon Beane.

    Douglas and Dodson "questionable".

Guess we'll see Hamlin active at safety, and possibly AJ Klein - both for ST if nothing else.

Thank you for the attribution and confirmation.

It should be SOP and it's appreciated.

I haven't seen Cook having to make any great catches 30 yards down the field. Both wide open touchdowns that he's dropped were right in his hands.

He's a bad receiver. Swing passes, screens, sure. But I'd much rather Shakir get these opportunities than Cook. And Kincaid is going to be a stud so more for him is fine by me.

    Cook? No.

    10 hours ago, Scott7975 said:

Cooks drop% is nearing 10% while his avg depth of target is 2.5 yards btw.  His hands have not been good over this stretch.  Not even just in catches but holding the ball.  He almost fumbled again this past game.

Yeah I appreciate Cook's explosiveness and his improvement this year but I don't need to see him get more touches. I don't consider him a dependable player and his level of ball security makes me nervous.

Shakir is blossoming before our very eyes. He's an all-around receiver who does everything well. He can beat man with quickness and speed and has a great feel for finding openings in zone. I definitely want to see Shakir and Kincaid continue to grow into larger roles.

One of the best things about the Miami game for me was Josh settling down and taking the layups. That's why he was 30 of 38 and highly efficient. He was also 8-10 in the 2nd half of the Patriots game after he decided to throw underneath to open receivers. I believe that Josh can become the QB he was in 2020 when he completed 69.2% of his passes and threw only 10 interceptions. Actually I think he should be able to complete 75% of his throws. If Josh exercises a bit more discipline as a thrower, the Bills should be unbeatable.

Last year the Bills were the media darlings and we fell short. This year our "window is closed" blah blah.  But I always felt like Buffalo succeeds more when they are disrespected. So I say keep it coming.

The whole idea that the Bills Championship window had closed is so incredibly stupid. That window closes when Josh's play deteriorates to where he's substantially passed his prime.

Right now he's in his prime.

I don't understand the assessment of Josh being "off" on Sunday.  Granted, I was cursing him out after that second interception in the endzone but to me, this was the most consistent and impressive aerial attack since the Philly game.  It simply passed the eye test.  I recall very few balls, other than those 2 picks and maybe the deep shot miss to Diggs, where Josh wasn't spot on with his ball placement and decision making.   Don't get me wrong, without the herculean effort from McDermott's defense, we don't win this game, but I would not say we won "in spite" of Josh.  Didn't you all feel like on balance the passing offense was clicking?  That to me, is the biggest reason for optimism going into the tournament!

Josh was mostly on... Diggs had a nice bounce back game and Shakir and Kincaid continue to grow in the offense. The offense took a big step forward on Sunday and if Josh can cut down on his turnovers, the Bills have a great chance of attaining their ultimate goal.

Things are coming together for this team... and at the perfect time.
