  1. Jones 17/17, 3 TDs on their scoring drives, which were primarily against 4 rushing and 7 in coverage. Jones started making mistakes when we were bringing an extra rusher or two.
  2. AJE is just frustrating to watch. He comes flying off the edge, tries to come around the corner and is then just pushed out of the play by the Tackle. Wash, rinse, repeat. Von is able to get around the edge and then turn it back up inside towards the QB and get real pressure. As you said, it's a clear lack of power since he's taken out of the play as soon as he tries to turn the corner towards the QB.
  3. We also had Von then, who was getting pressure on Mahomes. Lack of a pass rush puts even more pressure on the secondary. That's why I'm in favor of blitzing more often.
  4. I'd rather take the chance with the blitz and either get the sack or force the bad throw. Allowing the QB to sit back there with no pressure and find holes in the zone makes no sense to me and never has. Will you get burned by the blitz sometimes? Sure. That's how it goes, but when team's go on these long drives, that's also time Josh isn't on the field. They showed the stat yesterday that on the Pats scoring drives Jones was 17/17 with 3 TDs. Those were mainly with us rushing 4 and dropping 7 in coverage. I think we were pretty effective with our blitzing yesterday when we did and I hope to see it more.
  5. Soft coverage is putting it mildly. It almost seems like they're just waiting for the receivers to catch the ball and then tackling. Having 7 guys in coverage and then seeing receivers catch the ball with a defender barely within 5 yards happens far too often.
  6. There's definitely a time and place for the checkdowns. I have no problem with Josh creating and putting the ball where only the receiver can get it like on the TD to Smoke. Josh gets himself into trouble when he starts forcing the ball into double coverage, where the defenders have a better play on the ball than the receiver does. Those are the plays where the checkdowns are the correct answer.
  7. Yep it was. Shame he can't seem to even catch a cold.
  8. Yep, exactly like those 😂
  9. Yep, thought it was going to be just out of reach, but Smoke was able to close the gap.
  10. Over the shoulder grab diving forward? Nope. Gabe has had trouble making catches that would be considered pretty routine this year.
  11. Smoke looks more ripped than I remember him.
  12. Pretty insensitive. Would like to think it had nothing to do with #3, but sometimes some people are just jerks.
  13. OK, I may have slightly under reported that 😂
  14. I sure hope so because we can't afford an anemic offense against teams like KC and Cincy. If Tua is back next week, we need to be able to put up point too. They played us tough just a couple weeks ago.
  15. The call against Elam and the call against motor and Dion were both pretty lame. I think they balanced out though overall.
  16. Didn't he hurt his ankle like in week 4? If it's still bothering him that much, it's probably going to be something that requires surgery.
  17. No. Especially if they're running between the tackles. If he can't wrap up, he's only out there to eat up some blocks...which is scary if the coaching staff thinks he's the best option.
  18. LMAO, met Corny a few times. He was quite the character. Hard to believe some of these guys smoke cigs even though I bet the number of players that do have decreased since those days.
  19. Love me some Dion because he always makes me laugh. He strikes me as a 6' 5" 300 lb. nerd sometimes, lol.
  20. Think he said they were punt returns with Indy.
  21. There were a couple games I remember this season where Ed was almost unblockable.
  22. I swear...there's been a couple games you thought Ed was Aaron Donald out there and then just disappears for games at a time. Basham and AJE always seem to be a day late and dollar short on plays.
  23. Hard to believe some people think he was a bad pickup.
  24. He's just not a reliable receiver. Way too many incompletions on balls he should've had.
  25. Yeah he had 4tds and like 200 yards that game, but looking back, I don't remember many of those being contested catches. They were more just great passes from Josh. Contested catches has been a huge issue for him this season. Heck, just catching the ball period has been an issue this season.
