  1. We are pretty due to hit on a star receiver draft pick. 2013 - Woods (2nd round) 2008 - Stevie (7th) 2004 - Lee Evans (1st) 1996 - Moulds (1st) It will happen any year now.
  2. I think Hollins and Claypool battle for the physical blocking WR role. Both have down field ability too. I see this as somewhat of a Davis replacement. I think MVS was brought in to provide some competition for Shorter for that big outside boundary role. Both are big bodied, although slightly different receivers. Isabella vs. Hamler for special teams. Loser of each battle gets cuts. Except Shorter who has PS eligibility.
  3. If Davis is 2-3 inches taller he is drafted early 2nd round and is probably the first RB off the board. His game speed is insane. In the highlight packages I watched he was outrunning everybody on the field. His 40 wasn’t anything special but I think he’s a testament to how that metric is vastly overrated. Vision is great too. Perfect complement to Cook’s skill set and we should have a very nice 1-2 punch now.
  4. Would like to see us pounce on the chance to grab Franklin. Keep stockpiling those WR lottery tickets.
  5. 40 times are irrelevant. Go watch a football game and tell me how many times you see a receiver sprint 40 yards in a straight line from the line of scrimmage. It’s insane how people will discredit a player who is obviously good on the field. We’re drafting this guy to catch the ball over people. We haven’t had someone who can do that in a very long time.
  6. I trust our GM. None of us spent all year scouting him in depth
  7. Kam Kinchens is one of my favorite mid round guys for safety. Big time playmaker who had his stock destroyed due to a bad combine. But the few games of his I saw this year he really stood out. Feel like safety is one of those positions that combine numbers are not everything.
  8. McConkey really intrigues me. I think he does a lot of things really well and has a skill set we don’t have. Was watching his highlights today and he reminds me of Diggs in a way. The quick, shifty route running and ability to run and catch through contact is why.
  9. We sure could use him but the draft capital, salary, and injury history is a lot to put on the table. I feel like almost every SF game I’ve watched, Deebo was down on the turf at some point with an injury.
  10. DeJean seems like a fine player, but if he was truly valued by the Bills, I think he would have been grabbed at #28. However we are pretty deep at CB. Johnson, Benford, Douglas, and Elam is a pretty solid stable and good enough for this year. Maybe Elam gives you some extra growth and can get on the field more. Also, Beane has done a good job finding talent at this position in the mid to late rounds so I think I trust his eye for talent later in the draft. I think #33 should be receiver. Franklin, Mitchell, McConkey, Polk, and Coleman are all players to take a shot at. You can maybe gamble on DeJean at #33 then try to grab one of these receivers with a trade up of #60. Or maybe one of them falls that low. I just don’t think that is a good idea given we are so weak at the position and need to get one of them. Rounds 2-5 have produced elite WR talent the last few years. We have many picks in this range at the moment. Enough that we can grab 2 lottery tickets and fill the rest of the roster out with the rest. Amon-Ra, Puka, Jayden Reed, AJ Brown, Rice, Tank, Downs, Collins, Higgins, and Pickens all are starters that were taken in that range in recent years. I hope we play the numbers game and can find the next WR to that list.
  11. My only worry on Mooney/Samuel is that they probably are looking to sign with a team where they can be a #2 or very good #3. If we go WR in round 1 then Mooney/Samuel as a #3… you’re leaving Shakir with scraps as a #4 when we should put him in a better spot to succeed than that. Don’t think Mooney or Samuel sign here to play the Sherfield role.
