The answer is right in your post. They burned nearly ANOTHER FULL MINUTE off the clock by accepting that penalty. So we gave them an extra yard AND a gift of burning a minute. It was a lose-lose!

Listen, I don’t care about losing this particular game. I wanted to win of course, and put pressure on KC tonight, but we already punched our playoff ticket and will be at worst the 3 seed in my opinion. The issue I have has nothing to do with this particular game. The issue is that this game shows that our coaching staff still sucks at late game decision making. And that’s a fundamental flaw that can hurt us long after this game. Thats what I care about.

No it was a run the whole time. They had their heavy formation out there. Run should never have been an option in that situation.

So many bad coaching calls. Two to start. 1) A QB sneak when you can’t burn a timeout?!?!? Really Joe!? 2) Having a returner on that last punt? Put everyone on the line to rush and block! You aren’t gonna have enough time to return a punt. 3) Declining 4th and 7, thus taking more time off the clock!? Make it make sense!! There are so many more too.

In all seriousness, how can you even think of running a QB sneak when you know you need to save your timeouts? Just why? Put Allen in the shotgun and let him run if he wants or throw it away.
