I had a feeling it might be a long day when Trubisky was called for unsportsmanlike conduct on the first play of the game.

That was the beginning of the nightmare. My sister and I were having the conversation that she heard from some sources that there was some late heavy betting in Vegas on the Jags "straight up" and also on the "under" and Jags with the spread.  After some of these calls, it was pretty obvious to see that the refs wanted a tight game and would swing the momentum against the Bills whenever possible.

The Bills folded under the pressure and as several Jags players mentioned, "the Bills had no energy."  They gave up the ghost while the refs managed the payouts. NFL is a complete joke. Adding to my fury is the personal pile on of Aaron Rodgers. God forbid you don't tow the company line on everything they dictate.

I just don’t get why it’s so hard for them to field a competent rushing attack...baffling actually...

My take is that it is hard to find OL who excel at mauling for the rushing attack AND finesse for pass blocking. Then you have to get all five working together and scheme to their strengths and the strengths of your offense.   With Josh being as good as he is, they know it is better to have an OL that is better at pass blocking.

That being said, we still have some weaknesses. I don't think Feliciano ever really got his full strength back after the pec injury. He was more of the mauler type to balance the guys like Morse and Dawkins who's strength was pass protection. So that left side doesn't have that push where Feliciano used to bowl people over to open up a rush lane.

On the right side,  Ford just never developed like they hoped. The Covid bout didn't help. That's a strength and endurance zapper and we don't know if his lungs are 100%.  The Brown/Williams experiment is just beginning and they both had injuries.

Also our WR and not the best blockers so CB's when they see run, can shed and pursue quicker to make sure an RB doesn't get past that second level. Neither of our RB's is quick enough to pop those runs.

Daboll also likes to run into the teeth of a defense a lot. With the interior OL being our weakest point, this doesn't yield the results we desire. Supposedly we are a spread offense, so it would be nice if we could also develop ways to spread the run game. Which I think goes back to WR's who can't block well enough.

Luckily, Josh is awesome and our pass game is good enough. I'd like to see improvements in play calling, the run game and the OL play so we can dictate what type of offense we want to run, especially in the playoffs when teams will scheme to stop our passing attack.

I think Rams getting better and bucs getting healthier means we need to match.  This isn't about playoffs or afc this year it's do we have enough to win superbowl.

100% this!  OL help is needed. Cody Ford should not see the field.  Outside of that CB#3, TE depth, a breakaway threat at RB?

  4. I think you can tell "potential" immediately. A rookie might seem bad off the start but you need to take into account his coaching, the competition he played against, his mental acuity (willingness to learn) and his passion for the game.  The physical traits and abilities can be seen off the top but I think it's these aspects that separate who's going to make an impact.

Examples of this are Epenesa, who really seemed to struggle through his rookie year. He was undergoing a physical transformation and learning to play a new style of defense. It took awhile for the light to go on, but he seems to be making strides.  At first glance he seemed to be weak, slow and have limited pass rush moves, but that changed with coaching and his will to get better.

Josh has an incredible will to learn and get better. His deficiency was coaching and the level of competition he played against. At first glance he had amazing physical abilities but needed to work on the mental aspects of his game as well as his mechanics.

Knox is another one who came out with a lot of "potential" but had not put it together until this year. I could go on and on, but I really don't think players immediately know who is going to shine. They do however know who has the desire, work ethic and physical ability to make it in the NFL.

Really appreciate what Smoke did for the Bills and Josh’s development, but I love Sanders. Worthy upgrade, better all around player, experienced leader, and excellent fit for this team. He keeps this up, I’d love to have him back.

Exactly, Smoke is still on the PS. He's smoked now. There's not much in the tank. Maybe he needs to heal up still, but he's not effective and definitely not outplaying Sanders.

100%. if you want to be a big dog, you have to play like a big dog. your 6'5' 250 qb should get 7 inches of grass every single effing time. Poor execution, and the o line are BUMS.

Agreed, but Josh slipped. He didn't have good footing and got no push when he tried to cut. I can't put that all on the OL. Just one of those ***** football plays that doesn't go your way in a tight game.

Derrick Henry is the Titans best offensive player. The Bills have done pretty good against him the past three games. If I’m not mistaken, his greatest rushing yardage in that three game span is something like 80 yards.

It’s key that they continue to limit him in this game as well. So, I’m going with Star.

As soon as I read the thread title, I thought Star,  but its probably going to be a combo of Star, Butler and Zimmer that are going to have to clog up lanes and eat up blockers.  So my impact player will be Edmunds. He's going to need to be physical and get to Henry fast and make those tackles while minimizing Henry's yards. Edmonds also may be the cover LB on Henry out of the backfield. Henry's been very active in the pass game, so Edmonds needs to shine.

Klein is more physical than Milano so he may get a lot of snaps too. He's my #2 step up guy this week. The rest of the D just have to keep on doing what they are doing.

Davis has been a non factor after a really solid rookie season.

Sanders is getting his targets. With Smoke injured, he was our #3 and got more snaps.  With 3WR on the field, it's been Sanders, Beasley, Diggs. With the emergence of Knox (thank you TE academy and school of catching) there is no need for a 4th WR on the field, especially since Knox is a dual threat to stay and block.  The other thing is that Moss has been a good safety valve and there haven't been as many 3rd and long's where we need the Davis style toe touch grab on a 10-15 yd out.

Sanders is a lot better at finding the seams in the defense and getting separation. With Josh's pinpoint accuracy the need for the contested catch is not as relevant as last year. Daboll also seems to be scheming WR's open and having 3 great route runners like Sanders, Beasley and Diggs makes it so difficult to cover.

  9. Age and this modern version of the Bills have healed my Tourettes by about 95%.  However after the Music City Miracle the police paid a visit after a neighbor had believed someone was dying in my apartment. All they needed to do was see my Bills jersey when I answered the door and they offered their condolences. We buried my Bills hat in the backyard and they gave a 21 gun salute for the fallen soldiers of Buffalo.

  10.  I loved Sanders with the Broncos and I was super happy we replaced Brown with Sanders. Smoke lost a step and he was never physical enough or a great route runner who could create separation or make a contested catch. Manny is a perfect compliment for Diggs and Beasley and I'm sure Gabe is learning a lot under his wing.
