Does LAC really have a home? I bet Bills fans will invade Sofi and it will sound like a neutral site game. If the Chargers weren't going to stay in SD, then they should have been the ones to start over in Vegas with the Raiders (who have more of a following in LA) going to Sofi with the Rams. LA is a weak market for the NFL. The Steelers fans owned Sofi this past Sunday vs the Rams.

True. Wasn't trying to imply that they'll face an intense atmosphere by any stretch, because that's definitely not the case. Just pointing out that the Bills won't have HFA.

Division is still a pretty clear path with a game in hand against Miami

a lot of these teams you’ve penciled in as losses have looked just as garbage-y as us lol

9-8 with a win over Miami could win the division lol and if they have the division locked up they’ll likely be resting starters week 18 as the 1 seed will absolutely not be in play for them

I also personally vehemently disagree with your chargers pick 😂 they are probably the worst defense in the league

The Bills just lost to the Patriots and should've lost to the Giants. LAC is vastly better than either and it's on the road. Their defense hasn't been great, but Bosa/Mack/James could definitely be difference-makers in a close game.

The more I look at it, the more I'm pretty sure we are going to miss the playoffs.

10-7 might make the wild card (also could miss on a tie breaker). So we have 4 losses left we can take. Here is our remaining schedule:

Tampa - Thursday Night Football is weird and sloppy. Tampa is better than the Pats and the Giants.
@ Cinci - Bengals had our number last year, they haven't played great so far
Denver - *Should* be a comfortable win
Jets - Already beat us once. Jets D has Allen's number.
@ Philly - 5-1 and Super Bowl team
@ KC - 5-1 and Super Bowl winners
Dallas - 4-2 team, very tough defense
@ Chargers - West coast road trips are rough, team has similar talent to Bills
Pats - Well, we just lost to them, so we can probably lose to them again
@ Miami - 5-1 team, we were able to beat them once (with a fully healthy defense though)

    Games we should definitely win:
    - Tampa

    - Denver

    Games that are toss ups:
    - Cinci

    - Chargers

    - Jets

    - Pats

    - Miami

Games where the other team should be favored:

    - Philly

    - KC

    - Dallas

Not a lot of room for error here! 😬😬😬😬😬

Tampa - classic Bills run up the score game

@ Cincy - Bills probably pull it out due to "revenge" factor

Denver - possibly another Bills' run-up-the-score special, but I think it may be closer than expected

Jets - likely a Bills win, but....there's also a chance that the Jets pressure Allen into numerous mistakes per usual

    @ Philly - L

    @ KC - L

    Dallas - close L

    @ LAC - L

Patriots - Bills get off the schneid with a run-up-the-score special

@ Miami - Dolphins feast on Buffalo's depleted defense this time and get revenge

    9-8

I feel like the only way we beat Mahomes in the playoffs is home field advantage which is almost impossible.  The AFC West has been laying down for KC for abour 5 years now giving them an automatic path to home field.  Throw in the fact that all KC's other big games almost always seem to be at home(aka Bills), it's a long shot for them to have to ever go on the road.  Very frustrating, but true.

No one lays down for the Chiefs. They’re every team’s Super Bowl. And while the AFC East looks to be stronger than the West this year, the Chargers and Raiders have both made the playoffs within the last two years, and the Chargers have one of the best rosters in the league.

  5. KC’s had some luck, but they’ve also been very unlucky at times in the Mahomes era.

The high ankle sprain, Mahomes’ toe injury in 2020, the depleted OL in SB 55, Mahomes missing the second half of the divisional vs the Browns and three games in 2019. The Dee Ford Offside call that denied them a SB appearance in 2018.

And for as much as everyone talks about their fortune at the end of the AFCC and SB, they also had a lot of bad luck in both games. Two TDs taken off the board due to questionable calls, two turnovers negated, a very questionable catch upheld at a crucial moment, losing 4 of their top 5 WRs and their best corner vs the Bengals, etc.

If KC were consistently lucky, they’d probably have at least one more title. It balances out over time. The important thing is consistently putting yourself in the mix.

Cincinnati has QB and two elite receivers on rookie contracts. That’s why they get to have that. They absolutely nailed two drafts in a row by ignoring conventional wisdom and building the skill positions before the lines. Yesterday they proved that OL doesn’t matter at all. Just load up on the fun stuff and get the ball out quick.

It seemed to matter when they almost (should have) lost to Baltimore and Huntley, scoring 17 on offense in the process. 8 QB hits and 4 sacks.

I think it’s fair to assume that the snow limited the pass rush in Buffalo.

    Funny take this.

They literally gave him no help and he still carried this team to 13-3. He had 1 weapon and no OL to protect him. It got so bad with his weapons they went to guys who were out of the NFL.

Nah sorry, the FO failed this team. Beane hasn’t drafted a player of note, in 4 drafts.

I don’t understand the one weapon take. Only one really elite weapon, sure. Not many teams have multiple of those, if even one. Knox is one of the top TEs in the league and Davis is pretty good, especially on the big stage. He may have a few too many drops, but I think the good definitely outweighs the bad. Between those three, someone is nearly always open. McKenzie and Shakir aren’t bad either, especially as 4th and 5th options.

So much going on in this thread, but realizing a coin toss starts the game means that a coin toss is an acceptable way to make a decision.  It is goofy to think a coin toss is some how, now, unfair or "not right".

Life is not "right" nor fair; it is amusing to see people complain and bicker about issues like this......particularly when no one truly knows what the processes or discussions behind the scenes were or went.

The game is an entertainment activity, be entertained with all of this.

There was zero chance this was going to be done "right"....and to see NFL coaches, even fans, rush to make a claim they got the most "screwed" on this, all things considered is not a good look and shows poorly on them.

    Go. Play. The. Game.

If you are that good you win. Regardless of locale.

But the entire purpose of this intervention was to make things "fair." If you're going to have a potential AFC title game at a neutral site, it would seem to be fair to have a potential Bills/Bengals game at a neutral site too.

I've always had a great respect for Chiefs fans, and that franchise in general.

But if they are going to complain about how the NFL didn't just hand them all benefits of the #1 seed, then every single one of them can go to #+!!.

Out of the four teams involved, Kansas City easily got the best end of the deal.

Going into Monday night's game, every team had a BEST and WORST case scenario that depended heavily on the results.  The NFL compromised by putting everybody into a middle-ground.  Nobody got the best situation they could hope for.  Nobody got the worst situation they could hope for.

If things went right, both Buffalo and Kansas City were hoping for the first-round bye and homefield advantage throughout the playoffs.  If things went wrong, either of those teams could have easily found themselves playing on wild card weekend, and later going on the road for the championship game.  The biggest difference was, only Buffalo actually controlled its own destiny.

Pretty much everyone with a shred of humanity agreed that Monday's game shouldn't have continued.  And the NFL couldn't find a feasible way to finish it with only one-week left in the season.  None of this falls on either the Bills or Bengals, and neither team should be penalized for it.

A few days ago, the Chiefs had no control over their own destiny.  They walk out of the situation with the greatest gift of all, allowing them to completely skip the first round.  As a bonus, they also don't have to play a January playoff game in Buffalo.  How their fans can whine about this... I have absolutely no idea.  The Bengals don't even got a shot at the #1 seed anymore (even if other games fall their way), and both North teams could be losing homefield advantage based on a freaking coin flip.

A lot of KC fans are totally fine with the arrangement and some even celebrated it. The ones who don’t like it don’t like it because it goes against the rules. The stated rule is to use winning % in the event of a cancelled game. It’s the principal of the thing. They don’t like that it sets a precedent.

Hosting the AFC Championship is a treasured event in KC, so of course they’d all like the opportunity to do so again. And if none of this had happened, I think there’s a good chance they would have been the 1 seed and been in position to do so. But it is what it is and it’s understandable.

    Sure seems overrated.

  12. Let's face it...many of you are determined to hate KC and their fans. You look for reasons.

The vast majority of KC fan behavior is no more "toxic" than the Bills fans chanting "***** the Chiefs" at a game in Cincinnati.

Most of what you consider toxic is schtick. It's people having fun. Maybe some don't appreciate their language or approach (I sometimes don't either), but it's no indication of the character of the fanbase. This was proven during the Hamlin incident. 99% of posts in the game thread at Chiefs Planet were purely concern for the player, offering thoughts and prayers, and declaring that his health was way more important than a game. Yes, a few days later, some people became irritated by rumors of re-structuring the entire season and postseason, using a random generator to remove one of KC's games, etc. As I'm sure you would if the situation were reversed. But I haven't seen many crass comments and no one is saying anything disrespectful in regard to Hamlin.

I'll also say that, if there's a generalization to be made about Chiefs fans, it's that the obnoxious or trashy ones tend to be from the Missouri side of state line, while the Kansas side tends to be classier and more polite.

  13. That thread was created before the season began, due to the fact that they were heavy Super Bowl favorites and early books had them favored in every game. It’s not insulting to ask if that were justified.

KC? Well, they’re probably overhyped by Nick Wright. I don’t think anyone else has thought they’re a clear-cut favorite.

Beyond Diggs who would put us among the best?  Just because the talking heads on tv rave about our weapons?  They have no clue.

Davis leads the league in drops while having significantly less targets than the other the other guys up top.  I don’t know where his catch% is but  Pat friermuth is 100th in the league @ 67%. Davis is 53%.  I love Mckenzie…..but he has folded under the pressure of being our slot guy.  He’s not good at all.  Shakir has talent, but can’t dethrone Mckenzie. Knox is a solid TE, but he’s about average, top 10-15.

i get what you’re saying, but KC has MUCH more invested in the offense when compared to us. We’ve invested MUCH more on D than you have.  This is a fact.

I don’t see every Bills game, so I probably miss the inconsistency that everybody talks about with Davis. I do see that his numbers are up and down, but it’s the same for every KC WR. He’s still top 20 I think in yards and has several TDs.

His drop total is pretty bad based on the number of targets, but I think the good outweighs the bad. Hill had a problem with drops last year too. He may not have dropped balls at the same rate, but when he did, it was a killer. Numerous times he managed to bobble a good pass directly into the hands of a DB, including the last offensive play in the AFCC. It cost them another SB appearance. The good obviously still outweighed the bad, but I think the same’s true for Davis. He probably won’t keep that pace.

To me, there aren’t many teams with a significantly better trio of weapons than Diggs/Davis/Knox. As some have said, Allen just doesn’t seem to prefer to throw to TEs.

KC may have a deeper set of weapons, but I’d take the Bills’ top 3 over KC’s top three. I honestly don’t even know who the third weapon is after Kelce and JJSS. Toney’s too new to the offense and is already injured, and the rest are inconsistent or just not that productive.

Kelce is elite.  I’m going to go out on a limb and say the guy you quoted was including Kelce as a WR.  He’s your #1-  take out both of our elite pass catchers, Diggs and Kelce, and KC has a much deeper and talented stable of receivers

The rest of the guys- ALL are talented and better than all of our WRs not named Diggs and Davis-

juju- is a good WR (2nd rd)

Hardman- is a big play playmaker.

Toney- was the 20th pick in the draft.

    Moore- rookiewas a 2nd pick

MVS- you. paid him 10M per

watson-  he’s decent- much better WR then our 5th WR.

    5 talented WRs + Kelce

the guys after Diggs and Davis

    - Mckenzie - 75% of Billsmfans don’t want to ever see him play again.
-shakir-  can’t even beat out mckenzie but he has some upside.

-kumerow- made the team as a ST teamer and is likely out for the year.
-knox- our TE-  he’s better than average.  Has less than 1/2 the catches Kelce does, 1/3 of the yards and >1/5 of the TDs.

the overall ability and depth of KCs WRs after each of our All Pro reciever.  BLOWS AWAY the Bills.  It’s not even close.  But you can be defensive if you like.

same can be said for OL…..where we’ve invested next to nothing in protecting him and KC has done everything in its power to protect Mahomes.

I thought he was focusing solely on WR. Adding Kelce obviously changes the picture dramatically.

Every fan is more critical of his team’s players than outsiders tend to be. I see Davis as a very good #2 WR. One of the best. And I see Allen’s weapons as among the best in the league overall. And you guys apparently view MVS, Hardman and Moore fairly highly. Those guys have taken a lot of criticism from KC fans. Not Moore as much, since he’s a rookie in an offense that takes awhile to learn, but he’s mostly been a non-factor.

As for the line, KC interior OL is really solid but the tackles aren’t great. Brown is average at best and Wylie is pretty bad. But overall it’s a pretty good line.

I don’t follow Buffalo closely enough to have much of an opinion on their OL, but the pass protection generally seems pretty solid. They definitely  have a solid LT, which is most important.

  16. 18 minutes ago, NewEra said:

He wasn’t talking about this ONE game….

    so defensive

“I said this”.  “I said that”  Beane should’ve listened to me.  Me me me me.  Look at me knowing more than Beane!

gabe Davis is a very good 4 or 5….. lol.

So is Diggs.  And Tyreek Hill.  Hell, Jerry Rice may have been the best Wr4 or 5 ever.

But the idea that KC has a plethora of good WRs is pretty silly. None of them are elite (maybe Toney has potential, but it’ll take awhile). I think Smith-Schuster is the only one you can argue is even above average right now. They do have more depth than last year, but that’s because they had no depth behind Hill.

Reid/Mahomes just find a way to make it work with what they’re dealt. Last year, Kelce was out and Hill very limited vs Pittsburgh, and it was one of their best offensive games of the year. Top receivers were Byron Pringle, Darrel Williams, Derrick Gore and Hardman.

As a KC fan, this notion seems ridiculous to me.

Kelce, of course, is a great TE, but KC is very thin at WR right now. The WR who played the most snaps in LA was Justin Watson. Most of you had probably never heard his name before this year. He didn’t even play when he was with Tampa. 2nd most snaps went to MVS, and then Skyy Moore (who had barely been involved in the offense this year and has had a bit of a rough transition to the NFL). The rest of the WR corps were practice squad guys.

Even when healthy, KC’s WR corps is average at best, and obviously way below the Bills WRs.

  18. What's up, Bills fans....KC fan here.

I think the sentiment that KC has the 1 seed all but locked up is silly. They could easily lose in Cincinnati, and Seattle's not a gimme. I could even see them slipping up in Denver or Vegas. The Raiders have a lot of offensive talent and the Broncos have an elite defense. Both would love to play spoiler. The Chiefs are good, but they're not a juggernaut. They don't have a massive margin for error.

The sentiment that KC gets all the calls is also silly. They often have more penalties than opponents, and there have been a ton of game-changing calls that have gone against them this year. 3 or 4 TDs were taken off the board already this year thanks to ticky tack penalties. Jones was penalized for mean words to Matt Ryan (Chiefs beat the Colts if that flag isn't thrown) and Smith-Schuster had an unsportsmanlike for the same. The awful roughing call vs the Raiders, the no-call on the hit that concussed JJSS, no-call on Derwin James for the WWE style body slam of Kelce. No-calls when the punter was tackled twice in LA the other night. Etc, etc.

Obviously, as a fan that is rooting against KC, you're going to focus on the calls/no-calls that favor the Chiefs, so I can see how the narrative develops. They've benefited from some late calls (the hold the other night, and multiple penalties in the endzone at the end of regulation vs the Titans) but those calls were justified, especially against the Titans. They were just flat-out tackling receivers and hoping it wouldn't be called.

Bottom line is that if there were a grand conspiracy to help the Chiefs, they've had a funny way of showing it.
