I’m concerned about Dawson Knox.  For every great catch he has 10 drops.  He is a major liability and his contract is plain awful.

That's just factually not true.  Knox is not a + catcher, but he isn't a 1 for 11 type of player.  I believe he is at 60% catch rate for the season.  Also, he is a ++ blocker, and is a necessity in this offense.

  2. Travis has 2 years left after this one.  Gives him a chance to continue to run with Mahomes, and will then peace out.

Jason had a great career, will be interesting to see what other Eagles retire after their embarrassing effort yesterday.

A pump fake, juke, fake pitch...etc are all plays that by rule DO NOT require the defender to give up on the play.  A slide is specificially intended to protect the QB because by rule, once he slides he has given up, and by rule the defender must also.  It's not the same thing.

The defender was quoted after the game saying he wasn't sure if Josh was about to slide or not....causing him to pause...and not that Josh would know or care, but said player had already been fined and suspended for a late hits already this year.  The defender to Josh's front right also pretty much gives up on the play (which is his fault, didn't play to whistle) so probably also thought Josh was about to slide.  Doesn't look like a guy fighting to stay in the play and make a tackle at all.

Third time asking now, do you feel the same way about fake kneel downs and fake spikes?  Are they as damaging to the game as a fake slide?  Or are we selective in this logic?

I'm not trying to diminish the greatness of Josh Allen.  He's awesome.  I think that was a fake....alot of people (outside Buffalo) do.  I'd like to see this aspect removed from the game.  the slide is a rule to protect the QB...and it shouldn't be exploited by anyone.  I understand the late hits on slides are judgement calls and sometimes the defender just can't stop...other times they are tyring to get a shot in.  I get that Mahomes benefits from this rule on the sideline because players don't want get the 15 yard penalty and Mahomes will get an extra 5 out that circumstance.

Congratulations on the win.  I am excited for the upcoming game adn I know the mafia is fired up to be hosting this in Buffalo.  Should be a fun week leading up to the game.  I'm looking forward to seeing Mahomes on the road for the first time in the playoffs.  Hopefully there won't be any bad calls etc that swing the game one way or the other and it's settled on the field.

I’d like to understand where “deception” or aspect of a fake limits apply in your logic.  If the goal is to stop people from taking advantage of a rule where the result is a stoppage, do you want to remove fake spikes and fake kneel downs as well?  Or does it only matter for a move that Allen pulled off today and benefited from?

McDaniel had a really nice plan on offense to run the ball with those wide runs to keep the defense off balance. McDermott must have made some sort of adjustment that took that away and that was essentially their run game so they became one dimensional.

The Shanahan tree/system is impressive and wins a lot of games, but from what I've read there are relatively few plays in the game plan, so if you can catch on before they get up multiple scores on you it's also quite stop able.

Also, I think Hill's ankle got worse and worse as the game went on

I believe Poyer mentioned they moved from two high to single high after the first half in an effort to stop the run.  McDaniel has great ability to scheme a gameplan on offense, but I dont think he adjusts well.  In the second half, we saw the exact same concepts and formations from the first half, and then once it was stopped a few times he just abandoned it entirely.

There have also been metrics that show the Dolphins get worse and worse in efficiency as games go on.  It's exactly what you said, if you stop them early, your chances of winning go up and up as the game goes on.

McD gets flak, but he did a great job handling Miami's offense.  It reminded me of his ability to stop the Ravens as well.  He really forces teams to win in secondary manners.  He wont let you run your offense over and over again.

  6. I’m hoping he can play.  My guess is he tweaked his knee in that collision, and now it comes down to fluidity with movement.

my guess is he plays, but may get pulled if he has any effects

Both.  Bad JA placement, but Davis literally just fell, likely could have batted it down.

Davis ran a full route when Dolphins showed cover 0 blitz.  You need to either make the cut immediately or run a dig.  He did neither.  Was a lack of understanding

  8. Dolphins had 1 first down gained without a penalty in the second half….  Insane defense.

Mcd made all of the right calls.  Allen shot himself in the foot a few times, but the guy got that 3rd and 13 with 5 minutes left that was a play only he makes.

lets go beat up Pitt at home baby!

  9. Tua is a Kirk Cousins type of QB - in Tier not in play style.  He will be a starter in the league (barring injury) for another 5-6 years.  I could see him going to a team like Washington, or maybe Denver in a swap of QBs.  However, he doesn't have that gamebreaker ability that the top QBs have.

I expect Miami will sign him to a 5-7 year deal with outs at year 3.  The problem for them is the same problem every team faces - they have other talent that will need contracts.  Waddle, Jalen Phillips, etc.  Will be interesting to see what happens to the team over the next few years.
