$8m over the cap isn’t much.  Could easily convert Rodgers salary and roster bonus to a signing bonus.  He’s probably due a new contract coming off an MVP year anyway.  Maybe that’s what Watt’s waiting on.  Can’t see Watt going to Green Bay unless Rodgers is a happy camper.

Real question, is Rodgers ever happy? He looks like a grumpy curmudgeon 99% of the time. I actually think this past season was entirely fueled by him being pissed off about Jordan Love.

JJ Watt should want to die as a Buffalo Bill! Josh was born wanting to be a Bill even though he grew up a Tom Brady fan.

I'm glad the FO doesn't think this way or we would have like 5 players. The Bills aren't the only contenders and one of the contenders in on him is his childhood team. Why wouldn't that cause conflict? Conversely, I would question the decision making of a player who has extreme tunnel vision.

I'm fine with him doing whatever he wants.

What I really was saying is that I'm like a girl waiting to get asked to the prom.  The longer he waits to ask, the more he's saying to me I'm not the one.   If the question is that close for him, I'm not happy.

Who cares? If the Bills aren't his automatic first choice, you're not interested? Do you think Buffalo was Diggs' first choice?

This is nothing like asking a girl out to the prom or whatever.

I definitely think he is a top 5 guy and Seattle’s system hold him back. But there is zero doubt he is a weirdo. I believe when the defense was awesome, a lot of guys didn’t like him.

I think while he is super weird, he doesn’t want to be disliked by Seattle forcing for forcing his way out so that’s why he is doing this whole passive aggressive thing.

I don't think he's a top 5 guy tbh. Maybe borderline right now, but there are 5 clear guys I think are better than Wilson right now (Mahomes, Allen, Rodgers, Watson, Brady) and a few I think could be better as soon as next season (Herbert, Lawrence?) And then a bunch of guys who are in his tier (Jackson, Stafford, Tannehill, etc.)

Maybe I'm selling him short, idk, but I'm not really surprised he's never gotten a MVP vote. Plus he's annoying.

Petey wants to run the ball, and Russ just wants to “cook.” He’s jelly of the OL Brady had to be able to not get sacked, and throwing a fit about his circumstances. His ego can’t handle that he’s being passed by guys like mahomes, Watson, even Allen in mvp races while Brady, 10 years older, is still winning SBs. I think he’s feeling left out and worried he’s going to waste away the last years of his prime in the PNW with no mvps and no more rings. At least in Huge markets like Dallas and Chicago he would be more celebrated as an icon even if he didn’t win another ring . Saints make sense because they are on the doorstep of a SB, just add QB. Raiders.... eh I got nothing except Vegas, baby!

Ok, but if he's worried about his O-Line, why in God's name would he name Dallas, Chicago, Miami and I forgot the last team but I know they have a worse O-Line than Seattle?

Did Russ ever think that maybe he's just not quite as good as he thinks he is?

Also, the way he's asking for a trade is hilariously passive aggressive. God he's annoying. I can see why other players would have a hard time dealing with him. He's a cliche machine.

I also said WTF is wrong with Wilson.  He went from leading the MVP race to a below average QB in the last 1/4 of the season.

I'm not really understanding what he's complaining about. He's on a team that just won a very tough division despite the fact that he pooped the bed for a large part of the latter half of the season. He has one of the best WR tandems in the game that are also completely different in their utility.

If he wants to blame anyone, maybe he should start with himself.

God I would hate to have Wilson as my QB. If the term basic b-word could be applied to men, he's the poster boy. I remember his mic'd up game where I'm pretty sure he communicated via the pitch in which he said "let's go!" Over and over.

If this is the way America is headed i’m moving to Canada!

Give me old America any time. Gluten in my bread, Randal Cunningham is the hottest thing to hit the NFL, and you can call a man a curmudgeonly crankster and no one even bats an eye.

    Don't move here. Trust me.

Id give this year and next years 1st and singletary for him in a heart beat.

If that's the cost, you could just use the pick on a RB which would be cheaper both monetarily and from a pick standpoint (especially with the cap issues). The injuries last year are kind of worrying tbh. I had a bad ankle sprain almost 20 years ago and I can still feel it sometimes. Granted, I'm not an elite athlete but those injuries are amplified for guys who weigh well over 200 pounds.

His contract isn’t that bad.  Carolina already paid the signing bonus.  Only owes $8m this year and same next year.  He’s still only 24.  If Carolina is that desperate to acquire picks to acquire Watson, I’d take McCaffrey off their hands for pick 30.

Hinges on so much, though. As was mentioned, I don't think getting rid of CMC would be an efficient path to clearing cap space, and that assumes Carolina already has the assets to acquire Watson. That assumes Watson is going to be traded and I imagine Carolina would need some kind of assurance that they were getting him if they were to deal McCaffrey, but getting rid of McCaffrey might cause Watson to decline the move to the Panthers.

TLDR: McCaffrey would be amazing given his ability to receive the ball and run it efficiently, but this is so unlikely I don't really think it's worth thinking about.

Life comes at you fast. They were 11-0 and now headed toward major uncertainty ... need to deal with Villanueva, juju, Dupree as FAs... Ben’s contract is an albatross ... I could see JJ watt and cam on the inside and TJ watt and dupree on the outside but Ben’s arm is falling apart and that overshadows everything

I mean...no one really saw them as an 11-0 team. People were probably surprised when the WFT beat them but likely not shocked as though they were the Chiefs or Packers.

Was the Chiefs front 7 the 85 Bears?  No--and they aren't the 2020 Bucs either, but they "did that" to the Bills O-line. And the Bills O-line is acknowledged as unit that needs an upgrade.

Buffalo has a very good O-Line. Don't let the one game against KC colour your view.

Also, wasn't aware, but I guess the Bucs are the best team in the NFL now. No one can beat them!

  12. If this isn't the most pessimistic fanbase in the NFL, it has to be up there.

The Bills went 13-3 in a non-cakewalk schedule. You guys are acting like they are a .500 team. Would they have beaten the Bucs? Who knows, but probably. How did we go from everyone thinking the Bills were the second best team in the NFL to having to reboot every position after one loss to a very good team? Christ, calm down.

All in all I don't think he comes across as arrogant at all, but he must still be destroyed.

Yeah I agree. I actually kind of like the guy if I'm being honest. No hard feelings, Patrick. Sucks that the one likable player on the Chiefs just happens to be the guy who is central to their success.

  14. Erik and Nate? Not sure if it was Nate that time, but Erik did at least one video breakdown of Tremaine Edmunds. I left coming away with the impression that his issues are 99% he doesn't know where he has to be and makes bad decisions. I also don't agree that he's a bad tackler. When he is able to read the play correctly and has to fill a gap, nothing is coming out the other side.

I agree he needs to be better at shedding blocks, too. I don't think the excuse of him being 22 is a bad one. It's very valid. Reading offenses in the NFL is hard. Some players take longer to get it than others. Edmunds' physical package is well worth the risk that he never really gets it.

    Why?

Only one RB went in the first round last year. At #32 overall. And in fact over the last five drafts only 1 RB has been selected in the first round in 3 of the 5 drafts dating back to 2017.

I don't see a lot of teams with Running Back as a big need either. I could see the Jets or Dolphins possibly taking one just because they each have the luxury of two first round picks. So they could possibly take one with their later first round pick. Maybe the Steelers?

Of picks 17-32, where it would be likely a RB or two would come off the board, majority of those teams are set at RB. Jets, Dolphins and Steelers are the ones that standout. Of the five teams that pick before the Bills 25 to 29, none of them would take a RB.

All that said, I'm not sure it is wise for the Bills to be taking a RB in the first round.

Someone earlier said that an Alvin Kamara type of back would be ideal for this team, and that is true, imo. Najee Harris seems to fit that mold somewhat. Josh clearly doesn't trust Singletary, so it would be nice to have a RB who can catch and run.

Agreed, my answer would be the same, except I'd say goodbye to Barkley. That noodle arm isn't going to hold up and I don't think he could go .500 if Josh were to miss any time. Lots of solid options out there looking for work that would be an upgrade. If the Panthers make a run at Watson, Teddy B might be a nice #2. If not Brissett, Fitz, Dalton, Tyrod over even Bortles would be upgrades.

Bridgewater is too good to be a backup. It's amazing to me that he has difficulty finding work.

He's not amazing or anything, but guys like Jared Goff, Gardner Minshew/Mike Glennon, Drew Lock, Carson Wentz/Jalen Hurts are all starting QBs and if not better, he's at least in the same league as these guys.

Would love it if Fitz ended his career in Buffalo.

While I agree with most of the name on this list, I think I would downgrade Andre Roberts to the "So Long" category.

    Lifetime numbers

    25.8 avg kick return

    9.0 avg punt return

    Playoff numbers

    16.7 avg kick return

    4.0 avg punt return

As we saw he cannot be trusted to replace an injured WR, he is not used for jet sweeps, he is a one trick pony, and I don't think the roster spot is worth it anymore. Take a touchback on kickoffs, start at the 25 and trust Josh and the O to move it down field.

    Or just use McKenzie.
