  1. I have zero place in my musical taste for country music and Tom Petty says, in this article, something that I have been saying for years and getting blasted by friends and family for saying....although I have been saying it's 'pop/rock music that couldn't make it in pop/rock'. Not that what Tom Petty says is the end all be all, it's nice to hear someone in the business saying something that I have been saying..... http://www.billboard.com/biz/articles/country/5719212/zac-brown-kacey-musgraves-on-confronting-country-musics-image-problem

  11. yeah that gave me a moment of head scratching...simple compliments, at least from me, are not going to lead to a physical assault against her. I don't want to say that women or men are simply dressing to impress, many dress up or down(in my case) because it makes us feel better...but for the most part you are putting your best face forward so people notice and appreciate the effort you put forth, they aren't looking for a mate or a hook-up, simply to be noticed and appreciated. Compliments are not inappropriate as long as they are done with tact, I think. And to Chef..Gladiator sandals make me a very....

  18. yeah, that's exactly what we mean
  19. but i think it is on track, we are talking about those who have taken the torch from Jimi, SRV definitely, John Mayer also has it but just doesn't always display it...look at pearl jams yellow ledbetter, there's more Hendrix influence, someone mentioned Prince...I guess we kind of do know what Jimi would be like today...his music has manifested itself in these and so many others. Personally I think Jimi would have 'disappeared' in the blues joints of chicago and mississippi and just played whatever the f*** he felt like playing. because it is someone we lost way to early and we missed out(potentially) on years of more great music, books, television, movies, scientific discoveries etc...just a way to commemorate the passing of someone that brought something that some of us value or enjoyed or both...not really that difficult to figure out.
  20. I'm with you...get past John Mayer's poppy 'radio friendly' stuff and he is one of the better ones out there.
  21. can you imagine what kind of music he would have made had he lived??? Guess we will just have to settle with what he left us to enjoy http://youtu.be/1_3pwu7RmOQ
