I would like to see the Bills show support with a press release but I don’t know if they sign him.

That’s not good enough. They fired him on false allegations. Do the right thing and sign him if Araiza wants it.
We don’t need some backup DT that will be barely used.

Hopefully he gets the support from the media he deserves. As certain as I was that he would be released I am certain he’ll get a job in the NFL.

His job should be with the Buffalo Bills. Make this right.

It’s the system. Can’t blame humans for being human. There’s things the general public doesn’t need to know. One of those things is when someone is accused of a crime.

I agree, it should be illegal to release any names until a court case is underway.

What a freaking dumb thing to say.

How is it? They preach family and unity and throw their own draft pick (thus family) under the bus because of the guilty until proven innocent mob. They then don’t even issue a statement with the new updates.

The guy's a heckuva talent.  Beane would need to have some real stones to step up and re sign him  say, in the interest of fairness.   I would doubt it.

It’s why I’m not expecting anything. Courage isn’t the vibe I’m picking up from this franchise.

Given this, I don't see how he does not get an NFL contract this summer.

Why can’t it be us? We are the ones who got hurt the most from this outside of Araiza. We drafted him, spent a draft pick on him. I still can’t believe Beane or management still hasn’t made a statement on this. It’s so bad.

The Bills did the right thing, because he admitted to having sex with a minor.

They couldn't keep him on the team while being investigated for rape and an ongoing civil suit.

I think it's in Matt's best interest to come out and say he made mistakes, but he never met to hurt anyone. He hopes this girl gets whatever helps she needs because she seems like she needs a lot of help... That he should never have put himself, his family and his teammates in this position.  But ultimately he has been proved innocent of the terrible accusation of rape, and that no one should hold that label over him because that's not who he is.

He needs to own his part, say sorry for his part and his part only. If he comes out half as vindictive as some on the board as hoping he's going to hurt his chances for a second chance in the NFL.

Why are we continuing with this garbage? The women was proclaiming to NOT being a minor and saying she was 18. In California where this happened, isn’t a crime. Get over it.

In what scenario does a team carry and pay two Punters for a job one barely does?

This "pressure on the league for a roster exemption" and "fans fighting for justice" is so completely asinine.

The Bills probably want nothing to do with him. He probably wants nothing to do with The Bills. The Bills aren't going to push for some magical exemption that doesn't exist. We won't carry two Punters. We aren't releasing Martin. Fans getting upset on a Message Board isn't going to make the Bills do anything.

I get you're upset, but the situation just is what it is. No amount of being upset by it is going to change anything.

Things like this are why it’s getting incredibly hard to support the NFL anymore. It’s always Billsy, we always get the short stick of justice.

They aren’t a court of law. They can’t send him to jail. None of us have ever received any due process in any of our jobs. 99% of us are at will employees and can be released at any time.

What planet do you live on?

No, but they can keep him employed until he is tried in court and arrested. You know like normal American expectations. At will employment is travesty in this regard.

Right? It’s funny some want to correct a grave injustice to one guy by doing an injustice to another guy, who absolutely earned his job and his extension.

Nobody is saying that. Put pressure on the NFL to give the Bills a roster exemption. Let Araiza stay on until Martin finishes out his contract and they both can punt during the season. Win win.

If you don't think this will get traction in the media, I think you should just wait until a team signs him. It'll be talked about everywhere.

The Bills don't owe him an apology though. They never accused him of anything, and said they wanted to let him go out and defend himself. If i remember correctly, he also didn't disclose to the Bills that this was being investigated?

Either way, everybody loves a comeback story, so I'm sure he'll get his chance again. Just sucks it was delayed for over a year and won't be for us.

Why do fans take such a weak stance? Why can’t it be us? It’s never us. Fight for this team to bring him back, don’t just accept woe is me.

  12. 1 minute ago, JoPoy88 said:

I mean he’s just a punter and they’re expendable. Again, just business. I couldn’t care less who the punter is. It has minuscule affect on their chances in the long run.

Beyond the team though, yes I hope Araiza is able to get some sort of vindication beyond this prosecution report. Whether it be through a countersuit or something else I believe he deserves that at least.

But the Bills don’t owe him squat.

Araiza is the most exciting punter in like forever. You have no idea how pumped up I was when we drafted him. If the Bills care about family and oneness, they will do the right thing and bring Araiza in to compete against Martin.

you can’t make this still up!! 🤣 😂

It’s called Justice. If the NFL cares about it, they will see to it.

YES! thank you. You finally got it. Everything else is a lie. It’s a form of entertainment nothing more.

Well they can’t even get that part right. I’m way more entertained watching Araiza punt massive bombs than Martin on the field. So they couldn’t even do that correctly.

  14. 3 minutes ago, JoPoy88 said:

yes it was a terrible injustice done to him by a professional organization that did not want to deal with that **** and had no obligation to deal with it.

the only one truly at fault here is the accuser who made it up. There’s no need to nail him to multiple crosses.

Then I don’t want to hear a single statement from the Bills organization about how we are all a family and oneness when you throw your family under the bus at the slightest indication of adversity. It’s all a facade as this point until this is addressed. This franchise only cares about money and their image to the public. Everything else is a lie.

Not when there is legitimate, competing business interests at stake. The Buffalo Bills are not in the business of ensuring Matt Araiza gets “his day in court” or whatever without penalty by keeping him employed. The Buffalo Bills are in the business of making money and (hopefully) winning games.

All this franchise does is preach family and unity. You cut bait with someone who hasn’t even had a court case? Why would any player buy into this weak mantra company that won’t even see you get your day in court?

You think the other owners are seriously going to entertain giving the Bills a roster exemption to carry a second punter?

If they cared even an ounce about justice they would.

  17. 1 minute ago, JoPoy88 said:

Jesus this is ridiculous even from you. They did cave to “fan irrationality” they made the right call at the time for the team. In no way does having a rostered player on the roster with rape allegations hanging over him help the locker room.

And now you want them to cut the established punter who did fine for them last season and re-sign this guy just because?

    He’ll get another chance.

I didn’t say cut Martin. I said to keep a second punter or get the NFL to make a roster exception for the Bills to carry Araiza.

I dont give a flying crap about allegations. America is about due process, always has been and should be. Do the right thing or the universe will make that decision for us.

No. Those aren’t the only fools

All of these decisions solely rested on the shoulders of Beane, McD, and the owners. They brought him in here, and released him without due process. That’s it.

If he's that good some NFL team will sign him.

In the meantime he needs to file the appropriate forms with the federal department of  "Is this where I go to get my reputation back?"

That NFL team needs to be us. Own the mistakes.

These threads are the best.  People just making fools of themselves for our enjoyment. 🤣

The only fools are those that succumbed to the court of public opinions and punishing someone completely innocent until proven guilty. You know, like how America is suppose to be?

They still aren’t brave either. Still no statement from management, but we do have current players that have issued statements on the matter. That’s pretty sad when players stand up for former players before management does.

I guess you're right, totally worked out for Araiza keeping his mouth shut when he was asked if there was any off field incidents that the Bills should be aware of.

Do you blame him? Knowing that you are completely innocent and telling the truth isn’t going to make teams thinking logically about it.
