The point by the OP is that this guy can have a great year by TE standards and it won't amount to much production at all. He might be great but who cares if he only has 400 yards receiving? That's not pushing us over the edge towards super bowl contention

Honestly it just depends on how exactly we use him. He could be on the field for a ton simply because of his safety blanket abilities. Something Knox was supposed to develop into but doesn’t seem like he’s capable of that kind of consistency. It would not surprise me if he has closer to 800 yards if he’s in the slot a good amount.

With all of these comp picks starting in the 3rd, rounds will be 64 players before long

On his tape he looked wide open quite often.

He has very quick feet and can separate early due to his track instincts. His major issue is body catching. But separation isn’t an issue, somebody will draft him.

I haven't see the kid play so I am not ragging on him, but you gotta do a LOT more than run fast to separate in the NFL. You have be able to release, run routes, get in and out of breaks. It is as much technique as speed.

His major downfall is his tendency to body catch, but that can be corrected. He runs good routes from what I’ve seen.

I haven't watched anything at at all of him but he also played against much worse competition. At least Shorter produced in the SEC

True, but 4.4 speed doesn’t grow on trees. I’m willing to give a 6’3” guy NFL training for that kind of speed. He can separate with his track star ability. Shorter doesn’t really offer much that he does.

Did Beane only watch Florida games?

Shorter isn't a guy I have watched really. Seen snippets of him from watching other Florida offensive players. Think he is a bit one paced lacks a bit of burst. But he is a bigger bodied outside receiver which is something we don't have. Not sure I see him as a lock for the 53 though.

What I don’t understand is Iosivas is 6’3” 200 and runs a faster 40 time and has better production with a worse QB.

Henry To'oTo'o is another possibility.  I think the Bills, by trading back, has said they don't see any players left who they expect will make a big contribution in 2023.  Kincaid, Torrence and Williams I think all will.

Well Vorhees is hurt, but would likely contribute next year on this team. He was likely a 4th rounder pre injury.

Would love Vorhees or Ekiyor . Let Vorhees heal and good for next year.
