I predict a taron extension freeing up cap

The Bills don't need a Gabe replacement. They need a better player than Gabe and that's what the draft should provide. But I think Mack Hollins is very Gabe-like in many regards. Including being a bit of a weirdo.
Gabe replacement comes at #28 or earlier with a trade up

Looks to me like kj’s stats last year were worse than 2021 and 2022

Bit on a 1st rd wr and that changes quickly

We cut him so glad for him that he found a place to play

Maybe so, but they were not NFL good for several years. The Bills need a FS and are going to need to sign someone. It is very disappointing that they are dragging their feet on this one, but I am sure thee is a plan.
All true - there are a lot of UFA safeties - I’m sure Beane will sign one but isn’t paying a lot. Otherwise he would have kept poyer at $6m

Bums me out.
He and Geno Stone were my favorite safety targets, and both are off the market.
The Cover 1 guys liked Alohi Gilman, but he's off the market, too.
I still expect the Bills to sign a safety, but the longer they go without doing so, the more I begin to suspect that a high draft pick may be used on one, and that Rapp may actually start at SS.
Huh.Good safeties can be found late in the draft. Hyde and poyer, for instance, were both late rd picks I believe

I would say, based on how things have gone, WR @ #28
I’m saying wr at #17, specifically Thomas if he’s still available. If he’s gone you stay at 28 and take your fav of worthy, Legette, Ladd, or Adonai. My preference is Ladd but I don’t think that’s buffalo preference. Adonai has buffalo written all over them
-
So if we’re still a little over the cap, we need to restructure/extend players before the leagues new year starting tomorrow. So we should hear something in Milano/Taron I would think??
-
Whom else could be signed elsewhere and give us comp picks? Off the top of my head, Hyde, Dane Jackson, Dodson, Poona ford, that other DT we signed, Sherfield, maybe more?
none of these would bring much but still could bring something. A 7th could turn into a Dane Jackson type or a punter

Problem is Lamar is still their QB come playoff time - All he does is find ways to lose

Exactly. If Josh does that, they will have to work an early extension. I don't think Josh will force Beane to do that.
If Josh is OK with everything, they will keep doing what they are doing until after the 2026 season.
Josh has never been one to ruffle feathers, so he's never "forcing himself out of Buffalo."

Good for Josh not to add any years to his contract.
I can see Josh bolting to California after 2026 to be with his girlfriend Hailee
Interesting concept of Josh Bolting to California after 2026. Maybe explain how he's getting out of the 2027 and 2028 portion of his current contract.......waiting with popcorn.....

There is zero chance they are bringing back Levi Wallace after what he did during 13 seconds. Zero.
the player or the coaching? Though I never like Levi, though he was an UDFA so shouldn't have expected much

Again I’m sorry he got hurt bt
only mistake Josh Allen had on the second pick was even targeting Gabe Davis
just seems like every time he targets the guy he just falls over or runs the wrong way
heal quick kid but maybe take the playoffs 13

And also use a 5th, maybe even a 4th fro a 2nd WR

Such paltry compensation. These vet WR’s are costing pennies on the dollar.
Get one for ourselves and a first round WR and let Josh eat.
Agreed. I see us signing a Mooney type UFA for around $5m and trading up in the 1st for the Wr we want. Beane isn’t using all 11 draft picks and easily had the ammunition to move from 28 to the mid/high teens if Thomas falls to there

Beyond the ridiculousness of such a notion, would be a helluva trick to somehow shrink 2".
And to be honest, there really wasn't any scenario even before he ran way slower than expected (including ranking last amongst all WR's in the 10 yard split), measured in 2" shorter, 15 lbs. lighter, and performed awful in drills where we had to worry about him not dropping "right into the willing lap" of us at 28.
He was supremely overrated by members of this board to begin with.
Agreed. I think Beane really wants Thomas but wont be able to get him unless he drops into the 20s

Who I think they'd take? Adonai Mitchell.
I'd still take Legette over him personally.
I still find myself gravitating to McConkey at 28. I know at 6'0" he's not a true outside receiver, but I think he'd move all around our offensive scheme and catch 80-100 passes. Combine him with a more tradition outside wr via UFA or maybe draft another WR in rd 4 like Johnny wilson, Brenden Rice (pedigree), Javon Baker or Jacob Cowing. I just have a feeling if we don't draft McConkey we'll regret it. NOW, if Thomas slips to 28, or if we can trade up to grab him, I'm all for that!! Will be fun nonetheless

Personally, I'd rather take Legette at 28, and trade up from 60 to grab McConkey, but I think Ladd may go in the first.
I think you have it backwards. McConkey you’d have to take at 28 and Legette at 60. Might have to trade up a bit to get Legette, but wouldn’t cost you a ton to move from 60 to like 50. This is my plan B: McConkey then a true z receiver like Legette, worthy, Pearsall or Franklin.
plan A is trade up for Thomas
either plan would be dynamic with Josh:
diggs, McConkey, Legette, Shakir and our TEs
or
diggs, Thomas, Shakir, our TEs and a late round WR
both scenarios are very possible as we have 11 picks and Beane isn’t drafting 11 players
-
Ladd is growing on me. If Thomas is gone, i would take Ladd at 28 and back it up by taking Legette/Corley/Johnny Wilson at 60. Torn between Ladd, Mitchell and Franklin though

McConkey has this uncanny juking ability where he can start and stop on a dime juking out defenders making them miss
Where’s the college production though? Worrisome and I know he was injured last year

Thomas Jr, Mitchell, Franklin and Worthy
Any of these 4 will do fine and thinking 2-3 will be available when we pick, probably 2 but we only need 1

He's growing on me. Returns punts too. A bit worried he wasn't the #1 at texas, but, Cooke wasn't the #1 at UGA either I guess. How did Texas ever lose with him and Mitchell at WR?

One of the last 4 guys on the list will be a Buffalo Bill and it's very exciting. Here's how I have it after today:
Marvin Harrison Jr. - Ohio State
Malik Nabers - LSU
Rome Odunze - Washington
Brian Thomas Jr. - LSU
Xavier Worthy - Texas
Xavier Legette - South Carolina
Adonai Mitchell - Texas
Don’t overestimate worthy cuz of the 40 / he was the #2 wr at Tex’s. If bills go wr at 28 they’ll get one of Thomas, Mitchell or Franklin which are all great
Dane Jackson to Panthers
