  1. Yep - this appears to be a no brainer signing if not cost prohibitive. His analytics for coverage skills and tackling are elite. If he’s $5m year you could structure it so it’s 2024 cap friendly: 5 years $20m, $10m singing bonus with salaries of $1.5m for each of the first 3 years and $5.5m in year 4. This way the cap hit would be $4m for first 3 years and $8m in year 4 (dead cap of $2.5m if you cut him before year 4). No brainer

Ok before you skip past because of trades I made these myself, not the computer generated ones. I only made realistic ones. If you don't think so, correct me.

First of all I traded back because of value, without AD being there I didn't see anyone worth 28 at this point, and for the record I see AD as a WR1 in time.

I went back to 33 and 65 to pick up 101 as I think late third to fifth is the meat of the draft, when 33 came Nubin was available at 41 so I played the value card and found a trade picking up  38 and 106. Value seemed right at that point and began drafting, always looking at need/BPA. Let me know.

    Trade Recap

    Buffalo Receives:

    2024: Round 2, Pick 33

    2024: Round 3, Pick 65

    2024: Round 4, Pick 101

    Carolina Receives:

    2024: Round 1, Pick 28

    2024: Round 2, Pick 60

    Buffalo Receives:

    2024: Round 2, Pick 38

    2024: Round 4, Pick 106

    Tennessee Receives:

    2024: Round 2, Pick 33

Cole Bishop outstanding value, pairs up nicely with Nubin.

    S | Utah

    TRADE

    Tell me what you think.

I think all the trades looks reasonable but I don’t like the strategy. Buffalo needs quality not quantity, so I see them trading up at least once, maybe twice in rd’s 1-4 and end up drafting 7-8 players. No need to use 11 of picks cuz only roster space probably for 5-6 draftees. I’d be interested in your draft trading up two to three times, as that’s what beane has historically done

  3. Thomas wr 22 (Trade up)

    sweat DL 52 (trade up)

Beaux limmer OC 123 trade up

    Oladapo S 169 trade up

    eichenburg LB 204

    gabriel Murphy edge 248

Reasonable trades and 11 picks turned into 6, but there’s no way we have room in our roster for 11 picks. In this draft we get our top wr, a top dl, one of the best centers, a very good safety and a good LB. Full disclosure, I have no idea about Murphy

My anger is about spending limited cap $ on a redundant asset.  Had he spent $8 mill on a boundary receiver who could stretch the field, I might be disappointed we weren’t going young, but I’d be glad we filled an obvious roster hole.

Samuel is also not as good as the people here think he is.

    Please do elaborate

That's a good one but McConkey play the outside more naturally - and would be an excellent late RD1 pick up

i'm a big proponent of McConkey but don;t think they're taking him.  Wasn't someoen they et with at the combine, though they did meet with him at the sniron bowl, Let's see if they bring him in for a 30 visit

It would be nice to have if we were a team with cap space, but we aren't. Taylor Rapp is our only starting safety and I don't even like him that much. Why are we spending money on rotational players when there is a gaping hole at S?

Cuz all Dlman are rotational players and are elite. There are 15+ safeties still without deals that were starters last year.  If Arik was signed you'd go WR 28 and safety at 60 who would likely start.  If your patient, you'll probably as get a good safety at a bargain price.  I wouldn't have signed Rapp so early

    he’s better than both players

Does it make sense to acquire the Niners franchise playoff sack leader?  How about a player that actually sacked Mahomes? We can’t even pressure the guy

How about a 4 time team captain and 4 time Walter Payton Man of the Year Nominee?

    Good Lord people. WAKE UP.

When a player of this calibur has interest in playing for your team, you try to sign him

Why do you feel you have special insight that the entirety of "national media" doesn't have?

Why is the fact that the Bills have inexperienced young/energetic (according to the "media"--would that be "the national media"? lol) a benefit?

Elam made "a" big play.  Otherwise, it seems McD thinks little of this kid.  Milano tore his ACL and broke his leg.  What in your experience allows you to conclude that combination of injuries "does not linger"?

According to Beane and McD, milano broke his leg but had not ligament damage

The Bills don't need a Gabe replacement.   They need a better player than Gabe and that's what the draft should provide.   But I think Mack Hollins is very Gabe-like in many regards.   Including being a bit of a weirdo.

Gabe replacement comes at #28 or earlier with a trade up

  10. Looks to me like kj’s stats last year were worse than 2021 and 2022

Wishful thinking ,  wr position has been in decline for past 2 seasons and it has reflected with how we see the Bills play

Bit on a 1st rd wr and that changes quickly

Maybe so, but they were not NFL good for several years.   The Bills need a FS and are going to need to sign someone.  It is very disappointing that they are dragging their feet on this one, but I  am sure thee is a plan.

All true - there are a lot of UFA safeties - I’m sure Beane will sign one but isn’t paying a lot. Otherwise he would have kept poyer at $6m

    Bums me out.

He and Geno Stone were my favorite safety targets, and both are off the market.

The Cover 1 guys liked Alohi Gilman, but he's off the market, too.

I still expect the Bills to sign a safety, but the longer they go without doing so, the more I begin to suspect that a high draft pick may be used on one, and that Rapp may actually start at SS.

    Huh.

Good safeties can be found late in the draft. Hyde and poyer, for instance, were both late rd picks I believe
