  1. They do like Franklin - met with him more than anyone and he has the fewest q’s of any of the remaining wr’s. Walker is an analytics disaster - know way in the world they draft him. I see another small trade then Buffalo taking Mitchell, Ladd or Franklin. Coleman is the “Benjamin” type of wr they have been avoiding. No separation guy

  2. My gut says a surprise with our 1st pick: Troy Franklin

I’ll trust their judgement on WR1 but I really want baker as our 2nd wr picked - not sure he lasts until 128 though

ideally trade 28 for an early 2nd a a coveted 3rd that Beane wants. Franklin in the early 2nd, Baker in the 3rd. BPA at 60, 128, 133 etc.

If McConkey is like Beasley then he should be a must for Josh because even though there are those here that hated Bease because he spoke his mind but he was definitely a very dependable WR for Josh .

He like Beasley with more speed

    Where did you see that?

    Reception perception I believe.

  4. I'm not sure he's the best route runner of all WR's but analytics does say he creates better separation than any other wr.  Supposedly Buffalo has on last meeiting with Legette, last night, so he may be their target at 28, if the don't move up.  I think it's him or Worthy

How many times did you see him play in person?  I went to most of his games at UGA and YAC, separation, route running, and effort were never a problem.  How much YAC do you get when you make great catches in the end zone.    This kid might be a little raw, but he'll be a very good NFL player.

Eye test (you) vs analytics - what all the analysts are saying……

McConkey only lined up in the slot 25% of his college snaps if my memory serves.

I’m a Dawg fan so I’m partial to Ladd, but I’m taking Mitchell above Ladd, Worthy, Coleman, Franklin or Legette. I love AD’s combo of size and speed.  I also like his ability to make the big play, 11 TDs last year and 5 TDs in 5 CFP games.

Mitchell’s yac was horrendous and he’s kind of clumsy looking in his route running and catching. He could be great but he could also be the bust of the group. I stay away

Lance Alworth comes to mind.  I would be very happy with McConkey.  I suspect we'll pass on him if he's still available and then deeply regret that we didn't take him.

Yep - we pass on him, kc takes him and he averages 110 catches the next 10 years

I can't dream that big because I can't figure out a way to come up with the draft capital and money.

But I have come up with a path for DHop. Tenn could be tempted to grab Rome at #7 (which is unrealistically high for the Bills to get to).  This would make DHop and his paltry $13M salary expendable (if he isn't already). Tenn just spent big bucks on Ridley and drafted a 1st round WR last year.

I love the idea of pairing DHop with the speedster X Worthy.  But I think to get Worthy the Bills may have to do Beane's usual small move up.  Maybe not even that small - they may have to move ahead of Miami.

I think you could be correct on all accounts. Miami loves speed, and if Worthy is your guy, you move ahead of worthy. Worthy is too skinny, but otherwise isn’t a one-trick pony - he has solid college production and tracks the long ball very well. His senior year was a bit of a letdown though

If we do this, I hope we trade up again in the 2nd for Coleman or Legette or Polk. Pair the speedy small WR with the big bodied contested catch specialist. I don't care if it means we have barely any picks on day three and have to give up one of our 2nds next year. Get two physical studs that win in different ways and put them on the field with Josh Allen for the next 5+ years, and the rest will figure itself out.

The more I’ve studied it the more I think we’re talking worthy at #28 or maybe even with a small trade up and Baker at #60

It’s not hype it’s fact. I have Brian Thomas Jr. as WR 5 and it’s because he’s already a master of his signature move, the deep ball. He also excels in the red zone. He needs to work on his route tree but you can see the consistent separation that you hardly ever see with Legette. I like Legette as a possession WR but he’ll never be a true #1 imo. To be totally honest Legette isn’t even in my top 10 WRs because he can’t create the space early or really anytime in his route without having to use his hands. That’s going to get him a lot of flags in the NFL if he doesn’t clean it up and even if he does clean it up how is he going to create separation? He can’t blow by people in the NFL and he’s not smooth at all getting in and out of breaks. Again he’s a good WR and a heck of a story, he’s just not the guy to take for the bills, especially in the first round

If Thomas Jr is your #5, who's your #4.  I think Nabers is #1 over Harrison

If we need a boundary receiver and McConkey, as great as he is, has short arms and doesn't have the size to play outside, what is the reason for adding yet another slot specialist to this team?

We have Shakir, Kincaid and Samuels with a lot of slot experience.

If McConkey can't be a viable outside guy, why even bother? Are you gonna rest Shakir to play McConkey? And if so, who is the other outside guy?

I know a lot of you think he can play outside but he's small with short arms and that does not bode well.

Ladd played 70% of last season as a boundary receiver. His weakness is against press coverage so he’d be a better Z receiver than an X one. Would ideally have him in motion a lot. I think he’s at least the 5th best receiver in the draft and maybe the 4th. Don’t let his college production scare you off - they had a subpar qb, that great TE and ran the ball all the time. He’s the perfect replacement for Diggs. Kinkaid, Shakir and Dalton would feed off each other and would be uncoverable.

ideally you’d couple drafting him by drafting Baker or, a little later Cornelius Johnson who both could possible X receivers. Who knows, maybe Beane has a trade in place to grab a current NFL X receiver too, post 6.1??

He was higher on my list pre-combine. I first pegged him as our pick back when the season ended.

I think Franklin has lost some steam with his poor combine (even if he was sick) and his light frame. I think there’s a better chance of him being available at #60 (albeit only a slight chance) than the Bills picking him at 28 (no chance)

I will say this. As two teams looking to make a trade, this makes a lot of sense. I’m sure Florio is just blowing smoke but the Broncos need 2025 capital so they can take a QB next year or rebuild their roster.

The Bills have 2025 capital to give, but the question is will Odunze be there at 12. I find it hard to believe but Odunze is a Buffalo guy. Humble hard worker who doesn’t show diva traits that could be Allen’s # 1 for the next 8 years or so.

Bills give up 2025 1st and 28 and maybe a 5th this year should get it done

I think the chance Odunze makes it #12 are <25%; if he does, Beane should be all over trading up for Denver's pick.  Unlike one poster said, "Odunze is very good at everything but not elite at anything," I 100% disagree; he's elite or near elite in every category.
