This seems pretty obvious. Sure hope that cops cam was on.

Not obvious at all.  Personally think he was using the helmet as a prop to get to the officers.  You can clearly see he approaches the officers and instead of handing them the helmet, he tells the one officer to stop moving with the hand that had his cell phone.

This guy is far from innocent.  I struggle to even say the officers used a violent force.  They barely touched the guy.

It looks to me like he found a police helmet and is returning it.

    That's just false.

At the time he was forced back, he was trying to stop the officers from moving forward.  So he can provide resistance, but the police can't even though there was an executive ordered curfew the old guy was not following?  Not to mention he was asking for the badges of the officers prior to the incident.  The guy was there to cause trouble.

Why can't people just follow rules?  I just can't comprehend it.

  3. Murphy and Tasker were a train wreck every time I tried to listen to the show.

Murphy is not up to date with what is happening enough, and Tasker is just clueless.  They spent more time arguing about stuff that wasn't even true.  Murphy would bring up some rumor from 5 days ago, Tasker would get all mad about something that isn't even happening, and Murphy would just turn into a grumpy old man.

Hap, isn't it also accurate to say that the 12-18 month timeline for completing a successful vaccine trial that's been touted since early on in this pandemic, would also represent the fastest overall such result ever? The article below references a more usual time frame of multiple years--granted, that probably doesn't account for the same type of world simultaneous pandemic urgency? Still, 18 months is being awfully optimistic that nothing at all goes off-script, right?

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/other/a-coronavirus-vaccine-in-18-months-experts-are-skeptical/ar-BB11Yzjh

That's just fear journalism that is everywhere during this pandemic.  Reporters get a high by causing fear.

In the USA, there will 100% be a vaccine by next summer.  I would put any amount of money on it.

There will be two weddings. The first is parents and priest only in a church to be recognized by the church. The second with priest, brides maids, best man, etc. They are among the small group of under 30’s who regularly go to church, teach Sunday school, etc. After the first, we’ll probably go out to dinner. After the second there will be a traditional reception.

I hate to say this, but part of the problem is that the sister making a stink tries to tell everyone how to live every aspect of their lives.  She thinks we should all be vegetarians (“that salmon you just ate was somebody’s mother!”) to what kind of dog to get (if your dog isn’t a labradoodle, you did it wrong). If she told me not to touch the hot stove, I’d be tempted to try it!

Another part is wanting something they’ve been looking forward to and planning for for a long time. They ask the obvious question: How do I know the next date is safe?

We help them think it through, but in the end it’s their decision and they have to live with it and the ramifications. We talked pros and cons, best case/worst case, etc.   They need to understand that some people will not be comfortable flying, so attendance may drop. Some people may travel anyways, but be uncomfortable and possibly resentful. They just need to consider all that.

    .

By next summer I can 100% guarantee there will be a vaccine or treatment option.

Davis said at the end that the Bills had expressed interest in him pretty early on in the process. I believe there was a rumor they were trying to trade up for Duvernay at one point. But, they must have done a ton of scouting on WR this year so I feel like the ones that they took, they feel really good about.

Pretty much squashed that made up rumor with force.  Where was all the Duggar footage?

I think we should wait to see what is actually found.  You're saying "additional substance abuse issue" before you know if there's a substance abuse issue at all.

According to the "court record" thing posted (which I don't understand, because there hasn't been a court date set yet), Oliver said he is "taking Adderall" but if he has a prescription, that is not a crime.  It may or may not be against NFL policy, depending upon whether he has a therapeutic use exemption.

Texas does not require that a firearm be registered, so the weapons violation is only in the context of another crime, the DWI.

If the DWI proves out, it's there.  If it doesn't, it's gone.

I was just going off the article which listed those three things.

In terms of NFL, it's a pretty simple rule for adderall, if found with it in offseason it is substance abuse, if found during playing season it's performance enhancing.

Adderall has become one of the most abused drugs out there right now.  My guess is that he didn't have a prescription if he admitted to using it.   It is getting incredibly tough to get prescriptions from Doctors due to what the drug has become.

One incident =/= 4 years of repeated infractions

It's one incident but it evolves multiple violations.  I think the people thinking it will just fall under the alcohol 3 games are not taking into account the other issues.

I think 6 games will be end result now with the additional substance abuse issue.

Court records: Buffalo Bills' Ed Oliver admitted to drinking, taking Adderall prior to Houston DWI arrest

According to court records, an open can of Bud Light beer was found in the driver's door.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — Court records revealed former University of Houston star and current Buffalo Bills' defensive tackle Ed Oliver admitted to drinking and taking Adderall prior to his arrest Saturday in Montgomery County.

The 22-year-old is facing a DWI charge as well as a charge of unlawfully carrying a weapon after deputies found a small-caliber pistol in his vehicle during the time of his arrest. Both are class B misdemeanors.

Dion Jordan got 10 games for Adderall

Mental health (addiction included), was and should be at the forefront of social initiatives. Unfortunately it's another casualty of the Corona virus. The ramifications of this thing will far outweigh the death toll of the virus IMO.

That is just not true.  COVID has killed over 80k in a couple months here, you just won't see that with suicide.

There is also a lot of kids that were in school that were getting bullied getting a relief now.  There are gives and takes with everything.

  11. Humility should come with this pandemic and the NFL better act accordingly.  Sports can be gone tomorrow and there is no need for these expensive stadiums.  It's a stadium, not a hospital.

The good thing that could come out of this for the Bills is that if they are giving 900 million to LA to pay back in 30 years, you have to offer that to the Bills.  I'm not sure of the interest rate, but if they are using prime, its essentially zero % interest right now.  You could probably build a sufficient enough stadium in Buffalo for 1 billion.  Paying back 30 million a year is very doable.

Does anyone think the Bills will carry 3 QB’s this year?

I just don't see how the numbers would work.

I'm interested if they will expand roster this year due to not having a rookie minicamp.  You should be allowed to have rookies on roster that don't count towards the 53 man roster.

In a word? The Fed policies that have been propping it up more than anything. Caught this article today:

Really good article.  This is the most important part people are not realizing hasn't hit yet:

    Quote

“If we haven’t hit the bottom yet, things will get very, very bad, because then you’ll see a lot of cascading effects where a hedge fund will blow up, which means the pension fund that is invested in the hedge fund now has to take that loss, which means they have to de-risk, so they have to move out of equities,” the Goldman associate said. “There’s a very real possibility that people could get washed out, not just retail investors, but everybody.”

Pension funds within struggling companies can swing the marker immensely.  Lot's of these companies who file for bankruptcy will be to get out of pensions.

The 50% number is absurd.  Ratings will be huge.  Look at the draft.  Schefter is revealing himself to be a gigantic tool.

Ratings mean nothing when no companies have money to advertise.

Dave Portnoy on barstool radio when COVID first hit, was talking that advertisers were already pulling all their funding at that time.  It has to be way worse now.

The companies that are thriving, don't need advertising because they are essential.  The companies that are struggling don't have the money to throw at advertising.

Roberts was an all pro returner - while not having a TD return does not make him a bad returner.  There is value to sure hands and a good return average.

That said, if a rookie can deliver the same then bye to Roberts.  The tie goes to a rookie who can return and be the 6th WR.

My biggest grip about the entire draft, this team didn't get faster.

I wanted them to draft a better version of McKenzie.  Someone that can stretch the field, run some Jet sweeps, and be the returner.  Like a Hardman from KC.

Roberts taking up a spot on this team kind of irritates me, not because he isn't decent at what he does, it's just so little in today's NFL.

  16. The NHL model always made way more sense to me.  The salary cap and players yearly salary is not what the actual real dollars are because of escrow.  They split the revenue and that is how much the players have to split up to get paid.  Usually they make around 85% to 90% of what their contract says in a year, this year there is talk of 50%.

It allows for an equal distribution of lost revenue from what was projected.

  17. I don't think Hodgens makes it.  He has very slow feet.  It will be very easy to NFL DBs to defend him.

I also am not sure if Fromm makes it.  He is not better than Barkley right now and this team needs depth at other positions right now.  Don't see us carrying 3 QBs.

Dane Jackson is interesting to me.  I think he might make it.  He is a very physical player which this team loves.  I'm not a huge fan of Taron Johnson and want more competition at nickel CB.  I hope Jackson can provide that.

And fumbled when given the chance a couple times.

Trey Adams is making this Roster. Played 17 games in a row after ACL and Back injuries. He wasn't 100%. 6'8" 330lbs 1st round pedigree. Maybe he is inactive but he will be on the 53 man Roster.

Haven't been impressed with Trey Adams from the videos out there (Plenty of vids on youtube on the Washington O line).  The guy is overpowered a lot and kind of clumsy.

We shall see, but I don't see him beating out Bates.

The ACC is weak yes but Clemson is not weak and has as much talent as anyone. You posted Clemson isn’t the SEC which it isn’t but they are as talented as any team in the country and would still be a great team no matter what conference they played in.

Peterman sucks no doubt but don’t make it seem like Fromm flat out beat Eason or Fields for the job head to head because that wasn’t the case.

I actually think that was exactly the case.  They all three were on the same team and Fromm was the starter.  That to me is beating the other guy.

You do realize that is the same year Clemson won the National Championship and beat Alabama who was ranked #1 and plays in the SEC. That was the same Clemson team who also beat the #2 playoff seed Ohio St before beating Alabama. So, I think it’s safe to say Clemson is on par with any SEC team the last few years and it pains me to even admit that as a UGA fan. Peterman and Pitt gave Clemson their only loss that year.

I will add Alabama’s only loss that year was to Clemson.

Ya, but it's a different animal playing in the SEC game after game.  Guys like Eason and Fields had to leave the conference because they couldn't beat out Fromm, you really think Peterman would have?

The ACC just isn't very good anymore.
