He had more sacks, forced fumbles, qb hits and TFL's than Addison. Addison started 7 games and Obada started 1 game. Goodbye Love & Cox.

Addison also had 9.5 sacks before coming to Buffalo.  Apply the same decline in Obada numbers.  Expect a 50% drop in sacks.

Step 1 to cap jail... restructure contracts to push money to future years.

    Not with the cap skyrocketing.

Step 1 to not improving... remaining status quo when status quo wasn't good enough.

Teams that restructed a ton of money this year: Chiefs and Tampa.  Teams in the superbowl last year: Chiefs and Tampa.  Good organizations know what needs to be done right now.

  3. We shall see.  I just don't know how we are expected to improve if we are just brining back all the same players.

I hope he doesn't make the team, just because that means we upgraded what he could bring us in the draft.  I really want an player that can stretch the field.  We are running out of spots on the 51, so I thought Isiah's was a spot that could have been upgraded to bring in a guy to do it all, not just touch the ball 3 times a game.

There has been no report of a crime to the police to this point. I now understand that the lawyer representing the alleged victims has passed a file to the police and criminal charges may follow if the Police believe there to be sufficient evidence to bring charges. But this is a civil claim for damages, ie. compensation. Even if the police decide not to charge (or they charge but Watson is found not guilty) it does not mean Watson is not liable to the civil standard of proof which is lower than the criminal one.

Sorry but that makes zero sense to me.  I don't understand how a person wouldn't first go to the police in a sexual assault situation.  Like I understand the victims hesitation to do anything based on fear or other factors, but if the person has the courage to come forward, the police should be contacted right away instead of the media or a lawyer.

Just saw this from The Buffalo News' Jay Skurski:

"Jay: Let’s set the record straight here. Sanders is not a slot receiver. Just once in the past five seasons has he lined up for more than 35% of his snaps in a season in the slot. That came in 2018 with Denver – and is the outlier in his career."

Not even sure what the stat means, because Sanders was a big pre-snap movement guy where he wasn't set in no set spot at the line.  He plays a lot like Beasley does in recent years.  He has lost some speed so his outside effectiveness is not what it used to be.

he was the 5th WR. That wasn't his job. He contributed in others ways and was effective

I understand that but his limitations kept him off the field when we were healthy.  Sanders moves a lot presnap like McKenzie did. I just think we need outside depth with speed and McKenzie can’t provide that. McKenzie also isn’t a deep threat even though he is quick. We need to expand the field more and create more holes in the defense.

I get the feeling that Isaiah Hodgins may be a guy that they feel more confident in than we know. Watch his college tape. Missing last season removed him from the fans’ radar, but I think he’s a good one.

I think Hodgins will struggle to make team. This team needs to get faster and he doesn’t help that need. He was a late round pick, very little invested. Probably ends up on PS

At this point we could just pick up a Robert Foster type WR as an UDFA after the draft. Which is what Byrd was 6 years ago

That makes zero sense. It took Byrd a while to get to this point. The Byrd from six years ago isn’t making this team.

We need another outside WR, preferably one with speed. We also need a returner. McKenzie just can’t play outside which severely limited his usage. Most of the tape you see on Sanders, has him playing more of a slot role.  That’s where he did most damage in last couple of years

He's a possibility but not because Mckenzie can't do the job.

McKenzie can’t do the outside WR job. He is and will never be an outside WR that can stretch the field

  9. When John Brown signed with the Bills, I thought we were getting someone that was going to take the top off the defense, that never really happened.  Brown was more of a intermediate guy.  Byrd is an outside WR that knows how go deep, something that is harder than it looks.

Byrd played with NE last year but actually started his career in Carolina.  He does kick returns, punt returns, and then plays outside WR.

McKenzie is decent, but I never liked the fact that he couldn't line up outside and beat his man one on one for a game changing play.  Byrd can do that, and did do that.

This is going to be everyone’s new favorite player after a few games. He is a do-it-all player that allows the offense to be even more multiple. He’s a poor man’s Kyle Juszcyk. I am happy about this, QB1 I’m sure is happy. It should also light a little fire under Knox because they will be competing for reps. I for one really like it.

Huh?  The dude is nothing like Juszcyk.

The "lack of cap space" to bring sign any upper tier guys is an excuse.... as we've seen the cap is pliable. Beane is just opting not to go that route yet.

Completely agree.  Beane is trying to "smarter" than the other top teams in the league.  Don't see it playing out favorably.

Pretty sure that's exactly what's going on.... understand they have to pay Josh, but everyone else is expendable, IMO.... so go for it.

Since KC has paid Mahomes, the cap hit in 2020 was 5.3 million and now 7.4 million.  I don't think Allen deserves an extension before this year, but its possible to have cheaper cap hits and still get paid.

Yea... don't really get the "run it back" approach when you got beat soundly by the team you need to overtake to win the conference.

My thoughts exactly.  Bills needed to restructure a lot of the contracts and really go for it this year.  My fear is that we are so worried about the future, it is derailing this next year where it will be our best shot to win it all.

I suspect they are fine going into this season with Knox, Sweeney, and Hollister.  If they can add someone in the draft, that is gravy.

i don’t get the Ertz love anyway. The guy seems pretty broken down.

Other than Pitts, which we are not getting, the draft is really bad for TE
