I'm just going to reply generally about all this stuff.

Beane has to be as confused as all of us on these injuries.  He has very limited funds.

He needs to move a player to fit Xavier.  He just signed an OL.

I bet he is waiting to see the injury report with a little more anxiety than us fans.

Hyde is out for the year.  The current injury report won't change that.

  2. With Hyde being out for the year, why isn't Beane signing a Safety?  The guy on the PS isn't even experienced enough to come in.

This team refuses to use Neal on defense.  I don't even know if he played any defense in the preseason.

I guess they could use Cam Lewis who never seems to be healthy anyways.

Right now we have 3 total safeties on roster, and IMO Johnson really struggled last game.  With a couple vets still on market (Landon Collins, Jaquiski Tartt, etc) it seems strange that it is being neglected.

Do you actually understand how moving players to the PS works?

The Bills would need to drop Shakir from the 53, thus exposing him to waivers.  Yes he didn't look good yesterday, but he certainly shown enough in pre-season that he'd be immediately grabbed by some other team.  Beane isn't letting a 5th round draft pick who looked good in pre-season go to save another player drafted in round 6 BTW and who is safely tucked away on IR and could stay there all season if needed.

The only way Stevenson makes it to the active roster is if one of the other WR's gets hurt.  No matter what Shakir's not going anywhere unless he were to get hurt, then he could go to IR.

And BTW the only time Stevenson has looked good was also in pre-season, the same as Shakir.

I 100% understand how the NFL works, and could give two craps if someone takes Shakir off waivers.  The guy just isn't quick enough to make it.

Stevenson has something that every team is looking for, speed.  I'm sure it will change after we play Miami on Sunday, but this team still lacks speed.  It will come back to bite them.

No you can't keep Stevenson on IR all year.  As soon as he is cleared, and he will be soon, the Bills need to make a move.

    On pure raw talent, Stevenson>Shakir.

  4. Need to see more creativity with Mckenzie, especially when we need to get some sustained drives to burn some clock.

Wasn't a huge deal with the Titans offense getting back on field with taking no time off clock, but we seen it how many times this weekend alone, how easy teams can erase leads.  Unless they are 1 yard screen passes, I really don't need to see three passes when burning clock helps everyone.

I wouldn't risk having him injure it further for one game. This is a marathon not a sprint.  IMO, if we lose this game, it isn't because Davis doesn't play.

If you injure your sprained ankle more, then you have an absolute trash training staff.  A good training staff can get that thing stable and solid.

Again, you need to amend that to say "he didn't get many targets last season, when he was the #4 WR with Sanders as the #2 WR"

I don't think the Bills can develop a game plan that excludes him very easily at all.  Davis got 98% of the offensive snaps last week, was targeted 5 times, and had a catch % of 80% for 88 yds and a TD.  That's ~1/3 of the passing yds and TDs.

Kumerow can block as well as Davis but with a 43% catch % in Buffalo he doesn't inspire the same fear as a WR.  So without Davis, you put in a WR who can run block (Kumerow) or a WR who can run routes and catch (McKenzie, Crowder) but you can't put in both.

So 5 targets on like 60 snaps?

Like I said, he just isn't targeted all that much,

Blocking as a WR is very low on my list of things that will influence a game.

  7. I'm torn on how much Gabe really means at times.  He just doesn't get that many targets.  I feel like you can easily develop a game plan that excludes him pretty easily.

I kind of expected this team to use Singletary a lot with or without Gabe.  I do really think this team wants to run more 2 TE sets with Singletary back there and Morris being hurt, made them de-rail.  I think they get back to that today.
