I don't know how I would even quantify this, but this feels like one of the more star studded headline weeks in recent NFL history. Yes, Garret stayed in Cleveland, but DK, Adams, Bosa, Hendricks, Crosby, and our new contracts has felt like a lot. For me, while I would have loved to get Garrett or Crosby, I'm glad they were ultimately out of reach and stayed where they are. I definitely would have been pissed if they changed teams and we weren't in on it. With all of that said and done, and FA starting tomorrow, what are you all hoping to see happen? This can include extensions for our own guys. For me, I don't know that I have anyone in FA that I'm really looking to add. I trust the front office's evaluations of DB's and Safeties, so if they go get a guy, then great. I would like to see McGovern and Benford extended. I won't be upset if we extend Cook, assuming there aren't any other FA's to bring in. I feel overall good about our offense. With the depth in the draft on the defensive line, I don't know if I care much about any of the FA's, but it's not my money. I'm pretty relaxed about the whole process now that the big names are taken care of.

Greg Rousseau Extended (4 years / 80M / 54M Guaranteed)

Agreed. I think they are making him an offer, but doubt he takes it based off his SM posts -

I can’t say for certain we couldn’t match his production with a high draft choice. Is it a gamble, always. But it’s 15 mil cheaper and we know what we have with Groot. I know I’m a broken record, but we need something different on defense. We need a game wrecker. Groot isn’t it. I’d rather put that money towards a proven guy and draft for depth. -

Don’t love it. Doesn’t make the big plays in crucial situations. I would have let him play out his 5th. I would’ve had no issues if he walked and somehow did great for another team. I don’t see how he is currently worth 20 mil per. Anything over 15 per is a problem for me with Groot. Would have much rather seen Benford get his deal, work FA and the draft, then circle back to Groot- 534 replies

Bills Player Releases and Restructures--New League Year Begins 3/12/25
Virgil replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall
Von and Josh alone could get us far under the cap. I’m sure they are prioritizing Von first. Then they will work on Josh as needed -
Josh pry has to come before Benford, if only to free up the cap space

Another one - Trey Hendrickson asks for a trade from Cincy
Virgil replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Him or Garrett works for me. This guy knows Mahomes as good as anyone. Being 30 isn’t great though. I would think the Bengals would want to resolve this situation soon, so they can make choices about Higgens. This is already turning into a somewhat crazy offseason with about of bigs names being released or traded on the trade block. -
Poll: Would you rather have 1000yds & 10TDs or 13 Sacks & 10 TFLs?
Virgil replied to Lost's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think the question needs to be modified to say “which would you rather add to our current situation?” -
I knew it was only a matter of time until someone got hurt. I'd love to see the metrics that show percent of injured starters by team over the past five years. I would assume the Yankees are at the top of that list

I'm sadly happy that he has not lived up to his potential as of yet. I was just waiting for him to change the P position as a whole
-
I'm sorry, but there's just no part of me who thinks the difference maker these past few years has been Metcalf. Don't get me wrong, I think he could be great with us, but not the piece needed to push us over the edge. That 30 mil needs to go to a game changer on defense

You're killing me smalls

He posted a pic of him in the Jags uniform over the Bills? He's dead to me...

This should be a very interesting contract. I would have to assume it’ll be very incentive laden, but I doubt he takes a one year “prove it” deal

Respectfully, any answer that isn't a game changing defensive player, is the wrong answer. Our offense is not the issue. It's easily good enough to take us all the way. But to expect your offense to have to score 30+ points in every playoff game to win is insane. And honestly, for the McD questions, if we get a Garret and don't go to the SB, then McD has to go.

This is who I want in the first round. With the defensive line depth in this draft, getting someone like this would be great in McDs defense. I like that he can lineup anywhere behind the line and could really excel here

Who was the Bills next best edge rusher after Bruce?

Wow, age took a toll on him. I barely recognize him

NFLPA Team Report Cards out - Bills are 23/32
Virgil replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
When looking at the grades, two things jump out to me: 1 - Bills need a new plane. That F- really held them back. They'd be in the top 10 if that were a B or higher 2 - Coach being a B. There's only 4 coaches ranked less than a B. There are 4 Coaches ranked as a B. That means McD is ranked between 24-28 in the league. For all we hear about culture and family, that seems really low to me. Additionally, there's been comments about how our scheme was to blame for the KC loss (which I strongly agree with on both offense and defense). This is not a Fire McD post, but I think it's relevant that McD is not as beloved by his players as it's made out to be. For me, I'm personally giving McD this year to make it to the Super Bowl, or it's time to move on. He's done great things for us, but it's ***** or get off the pot time and we would need to try something different. Honestly, I can't say I would have been too upset if we let him go this offseason and brought in Ben Johnson, but that ship has sailed.
