I kind of wish the Bills did this. Steelers get him for $5 million. He can play out of the slot very well.

Can't wait to watch the Robinson score a TD on the Rams (and have the Rams pay for 2/3rds of that paycheque).

You have Jack Campbell as a top 27 player in this draft?

I have JC there but only as last resort.  In real life, I would only pick JC in a trade down.

I think there is a runaway option here......  but not saying the name either.    Let's see if Virgil thinks the Cowboys legit need "that guy".

I'm dusting off my choice number two (hin't it's not Campbell).

  3. Well, we got Poyer back so there's that.

I get what he's trying to point out, but the Bills cap situation was not great to make a splash.  LAST offseason was the splash with Von Miller.

I think the OL is already better even before the draft and that was arguably the weakest link last season.  I expect a rookie or two added....

Not much of a loss at RB and I'd say we have some upside there....

Some interesting adds at WR, and I expect a rookie add.

Tremaine Edmunds is OVERPAID by another team, and if we can add an early round rookie that can compete at MLB, I'd say we're in pretty good shape for the season.

White HOPEFULLY will be back to 100%, and I've got my fingers crossed for Von Miller by game 7.

If you watched the Chargers' games, you would know that their WRs could not stretch the field at all.  They were a dink and dunk team and their YPA was one of the worst in the league, despite having a top five QB.  Their receivers stink and there is no way they don't take either Kincaid or a WR in the first round.  With Herbert, they have the ability to outscore the Chiefs, but not with their current crop of receivers.

Branch is a very good player, but that would be an unwise use of a first round pick.

Agreed.  I didn't watch the games and I'm sure you are right about the style of play.  I went only by their offensive production stats.

Looking forward to the REAL draft.

Not much more time to wait!!

    Cheers!

They won't pick Flowers I don't think. Tom Telesco has never picked a receiver below 6ft in the first 5 rounds in 10 years on the job. He is a "size guy" when it comes to receiver. If Johnston is there I am pretty confident they will pick him. But if he is gone can totally see Kincaid.

Think this Flowers's floor. If he is still there, the Ravens take him. He goes somewhere between New England at #14 and Baltimore at #22.

Yep.  Different story with Johnston.  But mainly because Keenan Allen is 30+.

I'm good with TE Gerald Everett's 555 yards on the season.  This team goes deep to Keenan Allen, and Mike Williams.  He had 4 TD as well.  Not terrible.

Nobody's calling Dawson Knox "pathetic" here... and he had 517 yards and 6TD.

If the board falls this way, the Chargers would be insane not to pick Flowers or Kincaid.  Their receiving “weapons” are pathetic.

3rd in the league for passing yards......... even with a banged up #1 and #2 WR most of the season.  That's not pathetic by any measure.  I'm banking on the Allen and Williams being healthy.  It was a bad injury year but that doesn't mean it continues into next season.  WR is a need for the future, yes, but the current starting FS Alohi Gilman is a weak link in that secondary.

How many targets Flowers would even get is questionable with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams on the field.

I went with the greater need IMHO.

  7. With the 21st pick, the LA Chargers select- Brian Branch-  FS-  Alabama

Yes, WR is arguably a need due to the bad "injury year" the Chargers had at the position last season.  The WR talent they have on the roster is undeniable (even the slot WR is pretty good), and for that reason, I went a different direction.  Free Safety is rather weak in my opinion, and the Chargers could use a better option to pair up with Derwin James (one of the better safeties in the league).

@Virgil is on the clock (Ravens)

Looking at the draft and trying to envision how the early rounds could unfold and who might be targets as we start entering into day 3, there is one guy that keeps standing out to me, and that is RB, Roschon, Johnson from Texas.

I already know there are going to be people here whose first response is that he isn't fast enough.  He ran fast enough at the combine to silence those concerns, but if anyone is focusing on just that anyway then they are missing the bigger picture with Johsnon who was the backup to Bijan this year.

A former 4 star recruit at QB, converted to RB out of team necessity, he has gone on to excel in just about every way imaginable for a RB.  Not only is he is tough runner, he is very good in all the other aspects of being a RB including as a receiver, blocking, and pass protection.  He was also the best special teams player for Texas.

Everything about this guy has McBeane written all over him.  And most people didn't even notice that the Bills took him out to dinner because the Bills took both him and Bijan out together and everyone was so focused on Bijan.  So there is established interest here both in the player and the position by Beane and the Bills.

We carried a RB in Taiwan for years despite providing no contributions at RB just because of what he brought to ST's.  Roschon is a guy who could contribute both as a RB and a ST ace.  He is rising up the draft boards as GM's have been salivating at how versatile he is.  I've seen a lot of chatter that some GM's even think he might be the most versatile back in the draft.

While I am not posting with this based on any "inside" knowledge of the significance of the Bills interest, I do think the fit here is intriguing as a duo with Cook.  And based on what I know of Beane and McD, he feels like someone who would be in real consideration as we get into day 3 and on of the draft.  We already have our faster home run threat in Cook, Roschon could be that potential compliment to Cook to groom behind Harris this year while also being a valuable ST contributor.

Great prospect!  Just wondering though, if we keep 4 RB on the roster this year?  Hines is our new special teamer (Jones), but also gets on the field for a small number of passing downs.

  9. I posted this here before but admittedly, I had HAD IT with the Bills after the Flutie/Johnson fiasco....  followed Flutie to San Diego Chargers and became a Chargers fan during the Tomlinson/Rivers era.

Amazing time to be a Chargers fan but frustrating in the playoffs....

I'm going with K for Philip Rivers.

  10. Chargers are an interesting study....  I don't see any GLARING needs, but a collection of average needs at multiple positions.  Interesting.  Chargers could be a wildcard team with respect to taking players at positions the Bills need.  Just putting that out there for Bills fans to munch on.  This could go many directions.

We are not drafting a LB day one two IMO. We only play two linebackers on the field and one of them is a first team all-pro. We are not in desperate need of another high-quality linebacker to put on the field. We will roll with Dodson, Bernard and Klein. Probably draft another on Day 3.

Teams are only as strong as their weakest player.  Good opponents know how exploit.

I don't know how the season would have gone had Von not gotten injured but it was undoubtedly a huge blow to our chances.

I certainly felt our chances of winning the whole thing nearly evaporated with his injury.

I think that Allen's elbow injury also took the momentum away.  Before the injury, the team looked literally unstoppable.  He's a warrior and pushed through, but that elbow really was a factor.

I like the off-season, so far… but I will say that we’ve seen multiple years of bold move off-seasons from the Chiefs.

The difference is they’ll trade a Tyreek Hill and they’ll let multiple Edmunds/Poyer type players walk, but then they make a splash like on their OL (a sore spot for a lot of us) in a Joe Thuney, Orlando Brown and this year 20M per for Taylor, but that is due to losing Brown and Wylie.

I wonder how people would feel if the Bills let Poyer walk in addition to Edmunds, traded Oliver but then signed Taylor.

We’d likely be back to a heavy defensive draft, but the optics are different.

I like our offseason so far as well, considering our cap situation.

I'm mainly concerned with the major moves the Jets have made this offseason, and if they have Rodgers, it's going to be more difficult to own the division.  The Jets arguably had one of the best drafts last year and those players have had the benefit of a year under their belt.  Look for them to excel this year.  Breece Hall's injury is something to watch.

THIS year the Jets once again have huge draft capital, which makes me nervous about the future.

The Bills window is NOW, so AJ Klein hardly gives me excitement about our linebacker depth (presently), but that will change after the draft.  I'd put some serious money down, betting on one of the top 4 linebackers being a Bill after the draft settles.

RAPP was the best acquisition of the offseason (and I'm still hoping for Rapp/Battle...  lol)

Sal with the propaganda announcement..... poised to sign Klein.  What is so exciting about this signing? He could barley find a job last offseason because he is a very average playe. He ended up getting released by the freaking Bears in Nov.  Klein represents another high motor/high character player with limited athletic talent that McDermott loves. So the Bills let Edmunds go and then spent 2 mllion in cap space on Matakevich and now are poised to sign Klein with McDermott both coaching and calling defensive plays. As of today the team has not improved at all and unless Beane can finally hit on draft picks the Bills have fallen backwards in the East.  I pray I am wrong but the team will never win with McDermott"s thinking on having high motor character players. You think Andy Reid cares if his players are choir boys,  talent wins in this league.

I share SOME of this sentiment, but the offseason isn't over yet.  You can count on draft capital being spent on linebacker.  :)

Why would we have a cap penalty to move on from Klein?  He's likely to have been signed to a vet minimum contract - or has something come out that I missed?  He had vet minimum from the Ravens and then from the Bills last year.

What better options are there in FA at his price point?

I don't think that signing Klein will preclude the Bills from drafting a player.  The guy is gonna be 32 years old; he's not their future at LB, he's not a guy you want to count on to take 100% of the snaps almost every game like Edmunds did.  He's likely to be a situational player and a backup.

I disagree that he's "just not a good player".  He's nowhere near the athleticism or the coverage skills of Milano or Edmunds, but he's a student of the game who makes up for his lack of elite physical tools with his knowledge of the game.  And he can hit hard enough to knock a player back to Friday.

I'm chill with wanting someone else, but if Klein signed for more than ~ vet minimum, I'll be surprised.

So who else at that price point in FA?

Sorry but I just disagree with all that.  And he'll be 33 this year, and slower, more injury prone etc.  I'm reading a lot of excuses above, and I'd rather have a younger option with upside as a "situational player, and backup".  Remember, backups become starters when there are injuries.

Not going to argue about this.  I respect your opinion.

    Go Bills!

So @Yantha, You puked at this topic? I sure would love to know why you hate this so much....

2 years ago first game against KC. They matched him up against Kelce and bumped him around hard, then a Safety took over after 5 yards. Worked very well. I have no issue with this move, especially when we may see more 4-3 do to no Edmunds

Certainly.  I was hoping to move on from Klein without a cap penalty.  We had a chance....  I just think there are much better options on the FA and/or draft to fill his roster spot.  He's just not a good player.
