  1. With genuine respect to @4merper4mer, QB prospects are notorious for being boom/bust picks in every draft.  I just don't see why we would put that much risk into a pick at #27 regardless of the perceived talent in this draft.

I think that there's less risk with quite a few other options, at positions in far greater need.

Down to our top 4.  I’m going to call it at 4p if they margin hasn’t shrunk

I’m with you.  WR makes no sense if Josh doesn’t have time to throw.  With the LB grades, I’m good waiting until round 2 for one.

    OT was my choice here

Virgil, I wanted OT, but don't think that Harrison is the guy.  Seems to lack the physicality and "power" I'd want at the position.  Of the players in your poll, I pivoted to WR because of that.

  2. Caved and went Addison.

Diggs turning 30 in November was a factor.....  as was his annoying tweets.

Rookie receivers are usually terrible. I don't know if there is a rookie in this class that would even start for us. If he's playing it's because they spent such a high pick that they have to

Always look to the future with draft picks.  Stefon Diggs is 29 years old.

Monstrous OTs scare me.  370 LBs is unnecessary and, imo, shows lack of work ethic.  Millions upon millions of dollars on the line.  Control your weight.

how many good OTs are 6’7- 350+?

Leonard Davis was a pretty darn good football player.  There aren't many 6'7, 350lb people in the WORLD actually so I'm not surprised there arent many playing RT in the NFL.

My thoughts on this pick are…

There is a general consensus that there are 4 first round receivers in the draft. There is no consensus what order they go in. One of those guys is left. Makes a ton of sense. Addison isn’t my favorite, but makes sense here.

Simpson imo is the guy this regime is going to love. If you take Simpson, Campbell or Sanders you are taking the best LB in the draft. You are getting the best player in the draft at a position of massive need on the cheap for 5 years.

If you go edge player you are hoping to get more sack production on the cheap. We need to get pressure on the QB.

If you go OL you are settling for second and third rate offensive linemen in the first and that would be a travesty. It’s a huge drop off after Johnson, Skoronski and B. Jones. These other guys have no business going in the first. It’s the mediocre safe play.

    Again all my opinions.

    Bam..... smash......

Strange to me how often it seems to be Campbell or Sanders as the main options in the discussion regarding the choice at LB early. I think Simpson is somewhat more likely to be the pick unless they are changing the approach on D enough to merit a different kind of skill set to replace Edmunds.

While I like Sanders, he is not a balanced player.  Pass rusher elite for a college prospect, but this is a passing league.....  need to be able to do both.

I think Simpson is more balanced for sure.  Worthy of 27?  No.

  7. The Bucs have many needs and there are a few positions that could be considered here.  Their pass rush was horrendous and a player like Lucas Van Ness or Nolan Smith could be the pick.  The Bucs TE position is weak as well, and an offensive weapon like Dalton Kincaid or Michael Mayer were also considerations.

At the end of the day, you have QB Trask (Recent 2nd round selection who studied under Brady for two seasons) who could compete to start over Baker Mayfield and in both cases you will need a solid O-line to give these QB question marks a chance.

The Bucs lost their starting left tackle and although Wirfs, the anchor of that line is playing RT, I've read a number of articles stating that he could shift over to left tackle if needed.  Not sure what the fans think.  In any case, adding a high end OT in the draft gives the Bucs another anchor.

With the 19th selection in TBD Mock Draft, the Tampa Bay Bucs select Darnell Wright, OT, Tennessee.

    Sorry Bills........  Don't kill me....

PM me as a reminder, and I'll tag you in the next sign-up.  It'll pry be next weekend

I wish, finally slept.  I tore my ACL last week and it's been a pain to sleep and get my surgery scheduled

Actually, do you want the Commanders?  I don't typically take a team.  I only took them because no one else wanted them.

Sure, I'll take the Commanders.  Thanks friend.

Yantha can have the Chargers if Virgil can handle the change

Even though I am uncertain how the Chargers lost their 1st round pick?

Thanks for the offer CNYfan.  Much appreciated, but I'm happy to sit back and watch this unfold this year!

If it's an annual thing, I'll keep a closer eye out for it next year.

    Cheers!

  10. Haven't done one in a while....

In this one, I was more patient with linebacker....

    yes.

I think that the WR would be overcrowded with two picks but I like the players you picked.
