Bust predictions are fun....
1. QB Will Levis (not even close to first round talent)
2. DT Kalijah Cancey (too small)
3. DT Bryan Breese (too tall and lanky for DT)
4. RT Dawand Jones (will be too slow at his size. Will be nicknamed the human turnstile)

I've read here many times by knowledgeable posters that Torrence is not a fit for our O-line scheme. So what's happening?
1) The fans' scouting is off.2) The Bills pros' scouting is off.
3) The Bills know he's not a natural fit but want to take him and make him work in our scheme all the same (they have a history, like with AJ and Basham of trying to change early-round picks).
4) The Bills want to change their O-line scheme.
5) It's a red herring to throw off our true drafting intentions.
I'm curious what those with more expertise think as this seems like a disconnect.I'd go with #4.
I think that there is change coming in 2023. We may have as many as 3 new starters on the O-line as it was exposed last season as a weakness. I also think that there is a desire for an in your face style of running game to compliment what we know Josh can do.
Change is coming!

THREE prospects have met with the Bills on "multiple occasions".
1. OG O'Cyrus Torrence
2. RB Bijan Robinson
3. WR Jordan Addison
PRIVATE workouts outside of the combine or pro day arguably shows elevated interest:
1. DT Gervon Dexter
2. DT Jaquelin Roy
3. OG O'Cyrus Torrence
So for all the OG additions in the FA, we've not been talking all that much about GUARD. Most of us, myself included have shifted over to RT, and MLB as "top needs".
.....don't be overly surprised if we go with the best OG in the draft in round 1.....

He's good. Very fast. Seems that the bulk of those highlights are in the backfield putting pressure on the QB, and that's important.
BUT
Can he cover Kelce? Not seeing much in there in terms of dropping back, and reading plays from that perspective.
I'd be happy with the pick but that's my question.

I wanted OC Tyler Linderbaum over Elam last year.

There are a number of posters who post condescending "good teams always draft BPA". When if fact there is no certainity who the BPA is, and no team actually ingores positional value and need. A true slave to BPA draft would likely be a disaster.
I like this websites way of showing each teams realistic targets at each pick.
https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/nfl-draft-targets-2023?team=BUF
Much more realistic way to think about it.Love this resource. Thanks for posting the link.
From this "projection", it looks as if the first spot where LB would come off the board is AFTER our pick at 27.
Sanders:
The first linebacker projected by this site would be Drew Sanders, between pick 30 (Eagles) - pick 43 (Jets). If Sanders is the target for the Bills, they could "stick and pick" Sanders at 27 unless someone moves up.
Campbell and Simpson tie:
The second linebacker comes off way down at pick 43 (Jets) and it's either Campbell or Simpson. If we missed on linebacker in round 1 or went with OT (or other BPA...), the Bills would have to get aggressive in round two to trade ahead of the Jets. Alternatively, the Bills could just trade down to something like 33ish..... and still have a very good chance at one of the top 3 linebackers (PLUS net extra picks...).
I vote for the trade down unless a top 15 prospect tumbles to 27.

OBJ's market value now (after silence in the league)
GO!
I'm not sure of the number but it should be very little guaranteed, and performance based.....

WR, by a long shot.
......but............. linebacker. haha.

The problem is that we’re not winning. Also not true really. Did we lose against the Bengals? Yes.
We beat a very good Dolphins team in the playoffs as well.
Plus the team routinely puts up 30+ scoring games. I just can't go full out and say "we're not winning".
This team is poised to have a great shot at a superbowl next season.
My original point is that yes Diggs is an elite player but when you are yourself completely ineffective in a playoff game, it's pretty pathetic to hear him whining about anything.... sorry but can't stand diva attitudes when you put up a total FLUB in a playoff game.

Three catches (six targets) for seven yards vs. KC in 2021. That is a problem. You don't target your best weapon on offense six times . And if you do, you should expect him to get more than seven yards out of it.
Again ... I'm not calling Diggs out. But between Diggs, Allen and Dorsey, they need to figure out how to get Diggs the ball in the postseason.
And the offense put up 34 on Miami in the playoffs last year before quitting vs. the Bengals.
Respectfully disagree. As long as the ball gets into the endzone, and we get the "W" I don't care if Diggs is a double-teamed decoy for the whole game with only 6 targets.
Also, if you are only averaging 2.3 YPC, I think you look elsewhere. Right?

Your looking at 2 stats and think that one is better over 2 stats? are you kidding me? While I agree Brown has more upside, this is about competition and depth yes?
We want to improve the line, and my point is that this guy would just be a lateral move without the chance for improvement. I'm hoping we get a starter at RT, and Brown becomes the backup (again, with upside).
Maybe he'd be a great candidate for a move to RG though, but we already added two OG's. I'm not opposed to something like that, if he's a vet minimum kind of guy.

Miles Jack and Robbie Anderson could really help us if the conditions are right.
Robbie Anderson's speed must be respected and Miles Jack is a decent replacement for Edmunds.
I don't know their recent history. Are there off field issues or injury issues with either of them? Can we afford them? They'd certainly fill a couple big holes going into the draft allowing Beane to focus on the OL for a change.
Your thoughts?
Nah... I think the WR room is already showing enough new faces and a draft might be enough to put us in great shape. Don't want another ego in the room with certain expectations.
I'm not sure about Jack really, but if he's cheap, why not add a body to compete (might not make the team).

7 penalties and 6 sacks allowed.
Brown was 6 and 4 respectively, and it could be argued has more upside.

Not sure this is completely correct. KC uses multiple TEs often. Kelce is on the field over 75% of the time and this past season the other
3 TEs had a combined snap count just over 75%. Blake Bell is their current blocking TE (6'6", 260lbs), but was injured for most of the season.
They also use Bell for short yard rushing. He had 4 carries for 4 first downs in 2021. One of the reasons Kelce is the player he is, is because
he is used so much.
Couldn't agree more. Dawson is totally underutilized. He is in his prime and if they don't scheme him more it's a shame.
TEs are such an important part of today's modern NFL and it's not rocket science to figure out how to properly use the Bills TEs.
Just watch KC's film and design some plays they use for Knox. I'll add that @GunnerBillhas some good posts in this thread.
Using Knox more (at least 2-3 targets per game) reduces the need for this star WR2 a lot of fans keep screaming for.
Didn't know that about KC's TE's.
Thanks for that.

Again, there are zero teams ahead of us in the first round with MLB as a top need.
And in round 2, it's only Miami.
If we don't pick MLB in round 1 or in a trade down above Miami, there's a very good chance we miss out on a solid MLB that is ready to start right away. It's too important of a position to just let it slide.
I like our starting RT right now way more than our big fat question mark at MLB.

Dawson Knox is paid like a star player. He has certainly flashed star talent. And he seems like a wonderful human being. I feel like the Bills don't get the expected production of out his salary level because he needs to help in pass protection too much. A couple of questions which I am sure the more technical football analysts at TBD can help answer.
1)If we simply add a solid tackle, and handle protections that way, does Knox automatically become more productive
2)If we added a big blocking TE like Darnell Washington, would that make Know able to be more productive as the pass catching TE/someitme slot receiver3)If we added both a solid tackel and a blocking TE like Darnell Washington, could Knox's pass catching protection grow to the Kelce/Gronk level?
I feel like Knox is a break out star waiting to happen, but if it doesn't this year, it probably never will.Follow KC's formula for Kelce. Kelce doesn't have a blocking TE. Just a good offensive line.

NFL.com posted an article of all 32 team needs, heading into the draft. Interestingly, they believe that the BILLS are the only team with a first round pick, in need of linebacker. Good odds for getting our pick of the litter.
The other teams in need?
Cleveland Browns
Miami Dolphins
The Browns do NOT have a pick in the second round either, but Miami picks at 51 with the Bills at 59. There is a "likelihood" that the Dolphins could swoop in and take a linebacker ahead of the Bills, and that would drive me insane.... lol....
So I think that it is NOT safe to just hope that "our guy" is available at 59.
We have a few choices.
1. Stick and pick at 27, a bit of a so called reach with other quality, higher ranked players still on the board.
2. Trade down marginally to get our guy, but not too far that Miami could leap-frog us in the second round. I like the Seahawks at 37 who have that extra 2nd rounder from Denver. They may want to use that pick to move up to 27. Campbell at 37 sounds about right.
3. Pick OT in round 1 (or whatever BPA there is....) and then be AGGRESSIVE in round 2 to pick ahead of Miami, again to get our starting linebacker.....
Just looking at team needs.

the fact that Wagner went for 7 tells us Bills have a plan
Right ?Klein is a smart instinctive player who plays downhill well.
Limited physically and not someone you want trailing a TE or RB out of the back field perhaps. But with help he can dissect.
Get me a modern day AJ Klein who can play some laterally and take care of under in zone out of the draft.
But for now ? Keep him until we have his upgrade. in that style of playKlein could be brought back after the draft, if we need to fill out the roster. I don't see teams jumping up to grab him off the market. I agree, it would be good to have him back but only if we must... There's something to be said for continuity, familiarity/chemistry with teammates etc.
