    As someone who wanted an upgrade from Levi, I'm surprised that they let him walk for that price. I'm okay with it, but I'm still surprised. Beane likes signing his own.

    maybe we only offered a 1 year deal ? or they can get a vet like Joe Haden for 2-3M per and have him work with Dane J and a 2nd round pick...problem solved.

    Is the league allowed to deny obvious BS trades? A 5th for Shaq mason is a highway robbery and Brady and the pats have a history of suspect behavior.

    Huge upgrade*. Mason is on the same level as teller and zack Martin.

    using that logic arent Bills guilty of same for trading Teller for a fifth rounder as well ?

    Wonder if the emphasis on having more athletic lineman this year points to more RB screens in the offense, something McKissic excels at.

    the first succesful screen pass or draw play in Bills history to a RB will be the first succesful screen pass or draw play in Bills history

    Not sure I like this much. Down here in Charlotte Mike Shula was public enemy #1 for his predictable game planning and play calling.

    The Brady hire was fine, but this one seems a bit baffling. I was kind of hoping they would just give the keys to Dorsey and let him drive without the extra "support".

    well Cam was MVP and got to the super bowl...we dont know for sure, but this could very well have been Dorsey's request to begin with, or more likely if the HC says you need to hire an experienced "consultant" he got to pick his guy...

  5. as much as I luv Harry, he priced himself out of our range, esp year 1, he did have some injury issues and was light for 1 tech DT.

    Jones is 30 pounds heftier and In 2021, Jones had 23 pressures and a career high 69.4 pass rush grade...run-plugger with better interior pass rush skills than what we had and should compliment Ed Oliver to play freerer-quicker...

    Last Year, Efe Obada signed a 1 year, $1,500,000 contract with the Buffalo Bills, including a $300,000 signing bonus, $800,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $1,500,000.

    The below is from ==> https://overthecap.com/player/efe-obada/3831/

    Career Earnings: $3,475,200

    Career APY: $579,200

    Potential Earnings: $3,455,400

    Total Guarantees: $650,000

    Largest Cash Payment: $1,500,000 (2021)

    Largest Cap Number: $1,485,294 (2021)

    I believe he is now 30 so he is looking for his likely last contract.

    Started late, never went to college and has a huge ceiling at 6'6" and 265 lbs.

    Obada was part of that NFL International Program.  He is a beast of an athlete.  Hungry for that one sizeable contract.  With very limited playing time and a short history of development he produced the numbers that he did the past 2 years -- one in Buffalo.  The trend is clear.  He is going to learn more and better pass rushing moves.  He will get 10 sacks with more playing time.

    He flashed in his 1st season with us.

    He only played 8 games and got 3.5 sacks in his first year in our system.

    Play him 17 games next year and he gets 10 sacks for the Bills.

    Why NOT lock him up for 3 years at $15M total?  I know, it sounds like a lot of money. However, other teams watch video.  They will see a guy who looked raw.  Who flashed.  Who has a high ceiling.

    Let me structure the contract for you:

    Term ==> 3 years

    Total ==> $15M

    Signing Bonus ==> $5M

    1st Year Base ==> $2M

    2nd Year Base ==> $4M

    3rd Year Base ==> $4M

    Dead Cap Hit After One Year ==> $3.3M

    He will get much more than that as a Free Agent.

    Every team is looking for pass rushers.

    7 Solo Tackles + 3.5 sacks in very limited playing time.

    With more playing time, he is starting to show some real results at 29 years old.  Crap!!!  He is only now learning pass rushing moves.

    Sign him for 3 years and $15M total -- $5M Signing Bonus plus base of $2M in 2022, $4M in 2023 and $4M in 2024.

    He will be 32 years old at the end of that contract and you see what his results are playing every game.

    Thoughts?

    thoughts ?  keep the day job and stick to fantasy football...

    Cue all the folks who just found out this guy existed to start gushing about his potential.

    I live in DC area , I subscribe to the Wash Post, read the sports everyday,I know every lineman on the team..except one...now I glady accept that one,

    its a talented D-line here, all first rounders start and the backups are good,

    Settle had a down year in comparison to year before, I just hope he replaces Butler and not Harry, and yes I am am hairy about Harry.

  8. scroll down to the penalties secton, one thing I like is a lots of snaps, not many fouls, 6-5 325 pounder,  former tackle

    update: per team its a one-year deal amt is TBD

    update: per Joe B quote - Athletic - Saffold says plan right now is to play left guard - which is where Bates played well down the stretch...

  9. decreasing productivity at the increased age of 30+ is a red flag, coupled with 2 years of 10M cap hit AND have to trade draft capital is a big no way...l

    ess money to re-sign Phillips (hopefully)and the big DT money goes to the younger roster resident, one Ed Oilver

  10. overall - Ralph Wilson and his bad management and style - old school, stubborn, egotistical; fired a hall-of-fame GM in his prime and overwhelming majority of his hires were terrible, it took 50 years for him to be inducted in the hall, mostly because it made the NFL look bad not to, not because he deserved it.

  11. sorry guys, keep the day jobs, and leave the heavy lift to Beano cuz:

    1. declining stats - https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/los-angeles-chargers/khalil-mack-14414/stats-valuation/ - missed majority of last seaso

    2. wrong side of 30 - he is 31+

    3. 3 years of increasing cap that we really cannot afford - https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/los-angeles-chargers/khalil-mack-14414/

    so whose right the Bears or Bolts, we hall see, and I say Bears

    I just randomly looked up Jones stats after seeing this. He has 223 career rushing yards over 11 seasons.

    That's pretty incredible.

    Guy hung around 11 years as a special teamer/reserve RB.

    and killed the Bills in the wildcard gme in Houston with that thrid and long reception that Milano was late getting to over the middle...hmm..the middle...coverage..issue...plus Jones was hurt a lot last season, his 2M+ is going to be used elsewhere

    Good guy. Won't forget how he annihilated Russ Wilson during the 2020 season. Best wishes!

    that was his best game as a Bill, he had impact but since then not much, so 6.6M over minus 5.1 plus 400k in dead money leaves us 1.9M over which equals pay cut money for a vet we would like to keep, more to come and its going to be a very interesting week to ten days coming up, which gets us closer to the draft

  14. likely a lot more than 10M per season which is what Andy Freaking Dalton got from the Bears last season; once the trades happen  or more than likely don't (Wilson, Watson, Rogers, or a cut - Wentz, Darnold ?) other teams thinking win now and all we need is a qb to get to the next level - Steelers, Commies, Broncos, Saints - are likely landing spots

  15. says he is dropping weight into the 330s and going to sack master mentoring as his pocket pressures are not all that impressive at UGA, so he may be a 2-down-run-plugger who comes out in passing situations which is less than ideal for a first-rounder... and yes Bills d-line rotation could mitigate this..but I could live with passing on him in favor of a WR or CB and getting a DT in round 2, maybe a better overall athlete  from UConn....https://www.si.com/nfl/draft/scouting-reports/travisjones
