Gameday Bills vs Pats* Postgame Thread

I’m gonna defend him on that one challenge…he was trying to hold them to a fg before the quarter ended so they had to kick it into the wind and he figured why not this is a close play anyway. Of course they picked up the first down and kicked the fg with the wind in the next quarter though…we probably win if we stopped them there in the 3rd quarter -

Not quite…if they didn’t have a division loss already I’d agree with you. If we split with them were almost guaranteed the tiebreaker and we just need to be within a game going into that final matchup Not sure why the pats want to slow down our offense…our red zone offense does a perfect job stopping itself 😂 I’m sure bill was sweatin when we started to move the ball through the air even into the wind but he trusted his defense and was proven right -
Pats crossed midfield three times…we had excellent field position all night and did absolutely nothing with it…we make one more play on offense and the pats essentially are running out the clock on themselves all game…bill put a ton of faith in his defense and will come out of it looking brilliant but he was probably sweating at times there lol I think they misjudged how effectively josh would manage those drives into the wind

OK, armchair analysts: How do we fix this offense?

I hope we at least go down in a blaze of glory and let josh Allen do whatever he wants down the stretch haha the amount of runs called tonight was pretty criminal -

Lol I don’t think it has much to do with fans and I really don’t see this happening mid season the year after making the afc championship game. Offseason maybe depending on what happens down the stretch -

Didn’t marrone scapegoat him and fire him to save himself lol …not sure the team very much cares about fan suggestions for personnel moves…that will unquestionably happen to Daboll either in the offseason or sometime early next season if we are still struggling -
This Bills forum is really amazing

I think that challenge was more aimed at stopping the clock to potentially force the pats to kick a fg into the wind in the 3rd quarter and hey maybe you win the challenge. I honestly thought that was a rather clever bit of coaching…that 3 points was absolutely massive. Some of the posters maybe…but most of it is contradictory madness and everyone looks like a genius in hindsight. Can we stop calling the man the clapper lol there is nothing clever or particularly insulting about this nickname in my opinion 😂 all coaches spend a majority of their time on the sideline clapping -
Right haha I don’t know what’s going on here 😂 did you want me to word my post more negatively? If we continue to flame out with draft picks I could see his job in jeopardy but he’s still coming off looking smart for drafting josh so no one has started digging into his draft history too much before this point

I feel like in the midst of a playoff race firing Daboll would not be the right move without a viable replacement. Do you have anyone on our staff that you’d like more calling plays? -
That’s exactly what I said you just put a negative spin on it 😂 drafting josh should give him some goodwill lol
-
Could be semantics but I think ‘clappy’ schooled himself tonight and bill didn’t do anything special…which is just fine for the pats I don’t mean that as an insult to bill. We put so much effort into not turning over the ball down to making punt returners inactive that we didn’t open the offense up as much as we clearly could’ve if the last few drives were any indication. pretty ironic considering we immediately fumbled the ball lol
-
He took a shot on the guy that’s been a one man offense for us that everyone else wrote off…I think he should get some goodwill for that

If we miss the playoffs this year I think his seat should get a little hot but I’m all for letting it play out…I still think we can turn it around. It’s certainly an uphill battle now…it seems like we just can’t make those clutch plays in close games this year. -
It doesn’t seem like we have a homefield advantage anymore
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
We still have a home field advantage we just haven’t been able to put it all together on the field this season in general -
Yea I’d only label a few of them drops but he’s gotta make 1 more play out of the 5 or 6 opportunities he had
-
I think we’re playing at our floor honestly…you could potentially win me over by the end of the season though lol So strange too that there’s a lot of continuity along the offensive line and they all seem to have regressed horribly. Pats have a great front 7 so I don’t think this game was the best example of the oline laying an egg but that’s definitely a trend throughout the season.

I honestly again think we tried to run the ball too much lol they did not trust Allen to throw the ball into the wind until we were forced to. It’s just throwing downs away at this point Still think that final red zone 1st down run was to control the clock and it went bad -

Our offense looked worse with the wind to be honest lol…we had outrageous field position quite a few times with the wind and bungled it -

Yea what a strange sport…a guy can drop a wide open pass and then make a play like that lol -

You can definitely make the case that a laundry list of players blew this one but man that early fumble really set the tone
