  1. Maybe that is the case. I don't know. There is a certain lack of passion to what he does, and while the org hasn't done him any favors, you've gotta show up. Even Kelly in his later years was still hyper competitive.
  2. Well, given that they aren't going to give him up, the hypothetical is not the reality. The Giants are respectable at the moment, to say the least. And maybe Daboll isn't so bad either (I thought that he was good when he was here).
  3. Yes, we know this, but again (replied to another comment here), JA17 had to work with a lot less before the run started in 2020. Rodgers is woeful, but he's a HOF player most likely, so what gives?
  4. Random reference, and I dig it. Cool album, Joe Jackson hit a home run with this album, and yes. Can't wait for next week thru the end of the season!
  5. Correct. And yet here is where Rodgers is. 125 yards. JA17 did more with less a few short years ago.
  6. Next week is key for them. Should Rodgers actually care about playing football, he will be a man on fire. But rather, I think that he's a man who's done with football, and who just wants to troll people on podcasts. Let's see how it goes, but if the Bills show up, which most certainly they will, then that's a guaranteed L for the Packers.
  7. You can steal this, and if you have a full head of steam to bring this glorious production to fruition, just ping me in Message here when it'll appear on the Lifetime network. You know that I'll be watching, and will most certainly give a positive review on Yelp.
  8. Nah, he's toast. And it wasn't just this season. People have gotta know what's up / manage the reality of their own relationships. When they make the movie (Tom Hanks will star as Tom Brady and Helen Mirren as the Gis), this will all become clear. It'll be set during Christmas, on the Lifetime network, and Tom Brady will cry after he's paralyzed during the filming of a television commercial. Gis will confirm that it's still over before, on Christmas Day, gifting Tom some gloves and socks, but of course he can't open them, and he can't put them on. He's a quadriplegic. So, the movie will end with a subtle, Kenny G-penned outro, and an ambiguous set of end credits, where I guess, Tom Brady can walk again. You'd think that I'm drunk (didn't drink today), high (not into it), or delusional (possible, but have you seen TikTok?!), but yeah, this could be a real thing. And I'd definitely be interested in watching it.
  9. Maybe The Highlander is available? I hear that he's immortal.
  10. There are no guarantees, but I'm kinda looking forward to seeing Rodgers, at home, next week.
  11. I agree with all of this, and yet they seem like a sub .500 team. Good!
  12. This could be said for half of the league. So, given my deep disdain for Watkins (lack of self awareness, lack of motivating his team to win, injured a lot later on), I don't really care how he got out of college. He did. My only surprise is that he's still doing it. Unrelated, but I was in General Ed classes with a few UB football players over the years, and we're talking early 1990s here. The sports cars, the jewelry, I mean... that's the blueprint.
  13. True story. But their HC is not inspiring, and OL seems to be a hot mess, and no matter what Brady wants to do, well, let's just say that his return to TB this year appears to have been a mistake.
  14. I, for one, would enjoy Tom Brady retiring in game. If it can happen to the Bills, it can happen to anyone!
  15. Watkins retired shortly after he was drafted. I can't say what year that he unofficially retired, as I don't recall, but the fact that he's still getting on rosters is confounding. Not that I care, but, for example, Blaine Gabbert is still in the league. So, one wonders at times...
  16. In the words of Hank Hill: "that boy ain't right."
  17. I don't know if this is my favorite memory, but still it stands out to me. I got acquainted with this guy that I worked with, and he was from Amherst -- moving from WNY to Boston area a few years earlier, just like me. As such we would hang out and do tech things, and when it came to Bills' season, we'd try and watch games together. Just MO, but nothing is as fun as watching Bills' games with another fan who knows the team intimately well, doesn't take themselves too seriously, and unless the game is tight or the Bills are getting smacked down, employs a healthy degree of snark. This took place in 1999, the year that many of us thought that the Bills would make it to the SB, if not win it. This dude was the first person I knew who owned a smoker, and he did wings and tri-tips. I made this Ceasar salad with grilled croutons. We were feeling no pain (beer, lots of it) before the 8:15pm kick off against the Jets, if I recall. So we settled into the game on the couch and were drinking more beer. I always loved the Maguire / Theismann booth. Joe Thiesmann is dumb as a post, and would say unintentionally hilarious things. Paul Maguire, IMO, was awesome in the booth, and clearly hated Joe Theismann. So in that light, when somebody (I forget who; beer, and this happened decades ago) missed a field goal, Maguire emoted, "wow, he SHANKED that one!" And then came the exception from Theismann. "Paul, that's not a very nice thing to say." Maguire was incredulous. "What are you even talking about? He SHANKED it!" "Paul, a SHANK is a 'not very nice' person," Theissman continued. ESPN basically immediately cut to commercial. Classic. Was Theismann talking about 'skanks' and just didn't know it? Does anyone else remember this game and this exchange?
  18. While obesity is borne of its own set of issues, airplane seats, even if you get a better "class", which I do due to a ton of work travel, are way, way too narrow. I'm 6'6", but I have broad shoulders. My derriere fits neatly into the seat confines, but my shoulders do not. Last flight, across country, I was in the center seat between what I was assume were two guys who played professional sports. Thank goodness that we were all good natured about it. How can you fit three dudes of the same physical statures in the same row of seats at the same time? Good times...

  20. I'm kinda looking forward to GB, for what it's worth. Rodgers is a spaz these days, and he no longer cares. Let's see how it plays out.
  21. It's OBJ. The team literally just proved that they can run. With that extra weapon, given how Diggs has been used this year, it makes total sense.
