Backtracking.  What the ***** are you talking about???

You were virtue signaling to us about all of the good work you do for racial justice and why that permits you to aggressively oppose any discussion about racism

So you've been invited to post a receipt of a donation to a BLM organization or charity of your choice. Wonder who you'd choose. Doesn't have to be a huge donation, remember. Cole said things can be small.

You were looking for ideas, remember? This seems like one that fits all of your criteria.

Unfortunately the second result was 0/7

However, for you and only you, since you haven't taken guesses already elsewhere to the same amount as others... you get unlimited guesses. There's only so many conceivable possibilities. For you only, if you specifically get it right, you will be rewarded with the cash prize that Chef Jim and RH didn't take.

Also, you could just lie about anyone's responses.  The right thing to do, would be to set a week time limit on the guessing game and THEN you do a video showing yourself and providing the answers to your own questions and post it in this thread.  Otherwise, you can just keep saying, "nope, that one's wrong" over and over.

Nah. If you guess every combination then you'll know I'm lying. I don't want to volunteer this information, but I will if someone gets it right. I just want to acknowledge this was being done to me and make sure that y'all know if you want to take these guesses, this is the thread to do it.

Your updated answer is further off.

This is what the liberal left have evolved too. They have no morals, intelligence, creativity or a backbone.

You are not going to win. 90% of the population sees you and your "movement" for what ot truly is. A bunch of demented, psychotic and spoiled brats that have no backbone. When the grownups decide they've had enough of your temper tantrum, they will squash it. Then you will run back to your parents basement with your tail between your legs.

It's going to be so much fun to watch.

How come neither Republican POTUS of the 21st century was able to take office without defying the popular vote?

Seems weird that Bush in 2000 and Trump in 2016 both lost the popular vote. You'd think if 90% of the population were against the left, Obama wouldn't be the only one to win the popular vote on his first term in the 3 instances it's occurred in the 2000s.

3 presidents. 2 republicans who dont win popular vote to claim office. 1 democrat who does win popular vote. Interesting.

Republicans are really amazing masters of disguise. They're the majority who control the government. They're also the victims. Everything good is because of them. And nothing is their fault. They're the party of personal responsibility. And everything is the liberals fault.

A shocking amount of people. I only made this because I literally had my identity guessed 20 times in a one week span of posting on PPP.  When it happened for the 21st time today I thought, hey that's good enough for blackjack, it's good enough for me. Let's just have it all in one place so it can stop coming up anytime I'm conversing in other threads. All Greg ID guesses can go here instead of other topics.

  6. I rephrased question 6... you're right it was a bit unclear there, @Johnnycage46 so here it is.

    6. Do I belong to political/activist group? If so, who, and are they paying me or am I paying them?

I will also give you the option to re-answer questions 1-7 as a mulligan and bonus for being the first to guess.  And I will give you the hint that you got one of the 7 correct, but only one, all others were incorrect. I won't tell you which one was correct, just that only one was correct.

If you’re suggesting that police shouldn’t carry guns when entering strange homes with suspected drug activity, I can’t agree there. They also didn’t fire at the first moving target they saw, Ms. Taylor’s boyfriend shot first and  the police returned fire, which is why I said in my first post that given the circumstances I believe both Ms. Taylor’s boyfriend and the officers appear justified in their actions, tragic though the result is. My issue is the policy which allowed these circumstances to begin with.

Sorry let me restate because I actually think we're closer on this than it sounds like

I'm saying if the police didn't have guns to begin with, the boyfriend does not open fire. Hold on.... hold on. I know. I know that seems like -- well if the criminal is armed, but the police aren't armed, why wouldn't he just murder them there? Because he doesn't want to die. Nobody wants to get into a shoot out with police. No rational person wants to murder police officers, knowing that they will not last long before being found. Shooting at police is a desperate last option, it is a suicide run. Because if you back somebody into a corner, they will attack back. This is a prime example of what is meant by "de-escalation" tactics being needed. Armed police - STOP OR I'LL SHOOT - this is not necessary for most people - and for desperate people with guns, like Breonna's boyfriend, it just makes them more desperate. Instead - PLEASE STOP AND LET ME HELP YOU - or something less aggressive and confrontational - that's what the goal ought to be.

This, by the way, I believe fully if Breonna isn't in the room. There's no reason for anybody to die here, no reason for any shots to be fired. That, additionally, an innocent bystander was in this situation should have meant everybody stopped. Even with her boyfriend firing first — again. This is where you de-escalate. You take cover. You use those riot shields, not on protestors, but here. I'm all for police having protective armor; I don't think there's a lot of value in them having guns. All the armor and no guns. Instead of cops having Punisher decals, maybe they can put up Batman ones. Cops can have bat ears and capes too if they'd like. But yeah, armor = cool. Lethal weapons = seems unnecessary 95% of the time, frankly. And when it is needed, have dedicated gun / sniper / swat specialists who can operate with precision and minimal loss of life. I don't want the "bad guys" to be killed by police ever; I want them to stand trial.

In another thread I mentioned I've been asking for examples of police using guns to save a life. As in, police used a gun to shoot and ideally wound or perhaps kill somebody in order to directly save a life that was in mortal danger, a life that would not have been saved otherwise. Not "this drug dealer would've gone on to kill someone in the future." The only example I've been provided is London Bridge terrorist attack; good example but alas not American. This almost might've been that case, right? Had Breonna's boyfriend, let's say, took her hostage — ideally the police then are able to save a life by shooting to disarm/wound/kill him before he harms her or anyone. Of course, that isn't what happened. And what I'm asking is, how many times has the good version happened? We hear a LOT about these bad ones. I'm led to believe by TV and frankly state propaganda that cops are saving lives on a regular basis in tangible ways like that. But, I can't find any stories of it. The stories I find when I search for "cops rescue" or "police rescue" are examples of cops helping people without using or needing guns.

It shouldn't have gotten to that point to begin with. One hundred percent agree. There's a lot of blame to go around. Policies like the war on drugs. And that we just accept cop shootouts as a fact of American life, and if drugs are involved, we're even moreso inclined to accept it as inevitable. It's all connected.

  8. 1 minute ago, Chandemonium said:

To your first paragraph, while that may be the case, the risk of police getting shot through the door needs to be weighed against the risk inherent in a no-knock of a gunfight with an invidual who would otherwise not react violently if he did not believe his home was being broken into. Alternative tactics that minimize the risks of both being shot through the door or starting a shootout with someone who believes their home is being broken into by criminals, while still allowing the police to apprehend suspects and collect evidence should also be explored and considered.

As far as if policy was subverted in this particular case, I have seen mention of some peculiarities in how the warrant was obtained, but not enough for me to make the jump to believing intentional malfeasance without additional evidence. From what I understand, the warrant was based at least in part on Taylor’s ex-boyfriend, a suspected drug dealer, having had packages delivered to her address in his name. This was supposedly based on a tip from a postal worker, but since the incident no such person has confirmed that they were the informant. This seems odd to me, but even if it’s all true it seems like far to low of a standard to obtain a no knock warrant.

And that justification is beyond weak, too. For drug packages, they needed guns? They were so jumpy they needed to fire at the first moving target they saw?

It's not just like one bad training program. It's a bad operating system.

  9. It's been fascinating to watch the majority of PPP regulars tell me what my identity is. Everything from my race, my age, my profession, my living situation, my relationship status, my motivation, my employer, what groups I belong to, and whether I am a new poster or an old poster with a new name — each has been guessed by almost every individual PPP troll in response to my bringing up racism over the past week or so.

PPP:  "Of course I'm not racist, I would only ever judge someone by the content of their character"

Also PPP: "Let me tell you your identity as a way of judging you"

    ?

No two people have had the same guess, mind you. But nobody who has gotten into a back & forth with me has been able to restrain themselves from telling me who I actually am. Nobody's really gotten particularly close, either.

However I also hear the many people who want Greg Persons to go back to his old habit of not looking at PPP and not posting in here. I understand. All you have to do is get all of these correct. If you do, I will admit it and prove it with a video confession. You truly can be the envy of your peers by both guessing me accurately and getting me to leave. Wow!

Simple incentive. Easy rules, right? No cheating. No doxxing. Just your deductive reasoning.

    1. What is my race / ethnicity?

    2. What is my age? (I'll give you a +/- 3 handicap)

    3. What is my profession / employment status?

    4. What is my living situation?

    5. What is my relationship status?

    6. Do I belong to political/activist group? If so, who, and are they paying me or am I paying them?

    7. Am I an old PPP poster returned with a new name? If so, what old name(s) did I have?

Those are the ones you can get right or wrong. These last questions are more like a survey. However, your entrance is not valid without answering all 10 questions.

    8. Does any part of you feel like it is creepy that you've given me as much thought as you have, and why isn't this an example of living in your head rent free?

    9. Given that you are not racist, and identities are irrelevant, what did my identity ever matter to you to begin with, and what were you hoping it would prove?

    10. Why do you think everybody had such wildly divergent guesses toward my identity?

Alrighty! Hopefully y'all have formulated your opinions coherently since @Koko78 first gave you the opportunity to imagine my real life.

And BTW a good leader rarely uses the stick.  A GREAT leader leads by example and you have not once (for whatever reason) given us examples of what YOU'VE done to combat racism.  Why is that?   Is it because all you've done so far is stand here and yell "YOU ALL SUCK"?  If so you're the ***** sales manager.  Lead or give up.

I don't want to lead anybody. I definitely don't want any followers. I am just living up to an ideal that I've always held but rarely acted upon. I've always felt, in my heart, basically all people are equal. I never thought much about it. Things changed. I realized that I could do more. Not gonna change the world. Not trying to be anybody's Jesus. But if I'm gonna dick around on a message board, I might as well call it out as forcefully as I can.

I'm not doing this only here. But online affords you the ability to be confrontational and direct in ways IRL you wouldn't. It's also why you won't take the $150 to say your posts on video. People are more honest, maybe, or at least more direct and blunt behind a screen name. And yet, unless this is an elaborate Black Mirror prank, my assumption is that behind Chef Jim is a Real Jim with a real life and real problems and so on.

Which is why I haven't given up on you, even as horrible as you've been toward me :) You've strung me along with just enough hope to waste my time probably but also give me some thought that... you'd never ever ever ever tell me you were wrong, or worse that I would be right, it just would not happen..... but maybe you just think about things slightly differently or carry yourself differently

Maybe some of the resistance and guilt comes from knowing you probably have some friends or acquaintances who are worse than you. Thats just statistically likely. You probably have a friend... well.... I'm being generous but I am assuming you have some IRL friends... and probably some of them are better than you and probably some are worse. Probably you know people who tell a lot of racist jokes or casually use slurs and so on

And maybe part of you feels guilty because you know if you said anything, you'd probably lose the argument or fight, you might be out numbered, you might feel like an idiot, people might make fun of you, you might lose that friend or friends. That's too scary to consider really doing and so it needs to not be done.

I'm just giving you a scenario that would be common to any White person in a small-ish town anywhere in America. Idk how many small towns you've lived in or visited, or if you live in one now, or what ever. And honestly it's not really limited to small towns. In liberal Southern California, in the presence of liberal coastal elites, racism is rampant. It Is Everywhere.

If I'm leading it is by example, and the example is that there is a worthy enemy among us. And it's not an enemy that is identifiable by color of skin, but literally by content of character. Racists oughta be bullied. No safe quarter for racists in our communities. Simple motto. Lead your own example is what I am doing.

    Gladly.  I’ll tag you shortly.

Which political activists have guns, specifically? What is being stolen, and what certain way of life is being forced?

Should Black people take the Christopher Dorner approach to the aggressions from police and White America, would that be perfectly moral in your view?

  12. My question re: 'overrated' is who would be the recent Guards worthy of HOF?

My opinion is the position is under-appreciated. Ruben has become so "overrated" that I think he's now come back around to being underrated — at least, he seems to be underrated among Bills fans here

The Boston Globe article didn't explain anything. They cited an argument (supported by research) that because blacks are disproportionately represented in violent crime arrests that, after controlling for the number of encounters, they are not actually disproportionately represented in police killings. The counter-argument by the Globe was that all encounters with police are not the same and that the rate numbers are diluted because Black people have many more interactions with police in non-deadly situations.

It's a hypothetical argument with no empirical data to support it. It also ignores the disproportionate representation of blacks in every violent crime offender category including the killing of polce officers. They also ignore the disproportionately high violent crime rates in black communities that disproportionately draw law enforcement resources and lead to a disproportionate number of interactions between law enforcement and black citizens in high violent crime settings.

The data is pretty clear if you care to look at it. I am not arguing racism doesn't exist. I am not arguing racism does not exist in law enforcement. I am not arguing that there are not unjustified killing by police of blacks, whites, and others. I am not arguing that it is not more difficult than it should be to convict police officers in unjustified killings, period, not just the killings of blacks.

What I am arguing is that the reasons for all these are varied, complex, and intertwined - and it has little to do with "systemic racism" in law enforcement.

You're right that the forms and reasons are varied, complex, and intertwined... but it seems like a deliberate choice to not see the systemic racism, particularly in law enforcement.

    48 minutes ago, BuffaloHokie13 said:

Your last statement is the actual problem. The number of official interactions is definitely a driver, and trying to imply otherwise is counterproductive. They even go on to muse that there are far too many variables to account for, but insist that racism is definitely the one. It doesn't work logically. I'm more than happy to talk about specific policies that inflate the number of interactions between black people and law enforcement. Are they justified, outdated, working, or just making it worse? That all depends on the specifics of the policy in question. But that isn't a police problem, it's a policy problem. Stop and Frisk is a decent enough example. If you're (you in the general sense) mad at the cops and not Bloomberg then your anger is misplaced IMO.

If people want to take steps towards a tangible solution then there are a few discussions to be had:

    - Who currently holds officers accountable? Why are they failing to do so? Or why is the process not transparent enough that the public comprehends the justification?

    - What specific policies are negatively impacting minorities? Why? Who is responsible for the policy? Can the policy be modified to function better or should it be scrapped altogether? What are the potential outcomes of outright removing them?

Neither of those things involve defunding or dissolving the police. Both allow everyone to provide input without inherent judgement.

These discussions are/have been had, and there are ideas. Quick answers. Community involvement needs to be priority; these are your investors. It's nowhere where it needs to be. Immunity needs to end; officers as a rule need to live in the community they serve to be eligible for the job; community listening needs to be part of training.

Tons of policies negatively impact to list for you here. Bottom line, it is a problem in every conceivable direction you want to point. Federal, local, Democrat, Republican. There's plenty of blame to go around.

Including yes to the police themselves. Defunding is right because they are massively overfunded. This needs to be bigger thinking than a few small tweaks. This needs to start from 0 and build up, not build down from 300 trillion or whatever.

As a start, LA and NY and everywhere else can swap the budgets for Police and Education.

Instead of teachers buying their own supplies, how about cops can buy their own bullets.

Within that article, there is praise from the Black co-stars in some of Jolson's films at a time when it was unheard of to see a White and Black co-star on screen. They aren't praising Jolson for anything other than allowing a Black person to be on screen with him. His guilt led to a very small act of being helpful.

I also want to add that sometimes, the guy you let go who passes the red light could turn out to be drunk when you encounter him, and might not feel like being arrested. This of course would require the use of some kind of force.

Picture you and your partner alone at 2 AM. You see a car pass a red light and nobody is around. Is the driver intox? Maybe. Do you want to find out during these times? Maybe not, especially if you have your "numbers."

I am just trying to paint a realistic situation and again, I think that ultimately, the public will suffer more than police officers will.

    The entire situation just sucks.

I didn't know you were ex-police but — one of the reasons it is difficult to take cops at their word on anything anymore is — in addition to all of these brutal videos — there's all the small little things that we all just kind of let go with cops. Small things. Like, cops running red lights. Double parking. Whatever. There's all kinds of little things we've all seen cops do to skirt the rules and act above the law. It informs the overall impression that that's how cops feel, in general — above the law.

  17. I've watched this twice now and I think it might be my favorite set I've ever seen from him. I really didn't like his recent couple of Netflix specials. The first two were OK but mostly he seemed too foggy.

This is the clearest and most focused I've seen him since Chappelle's Show... there's not a ton of punchlines, but the ones that are in there hit. And he'll definitely continue evolving his thoughts on it.

I hope this also brings out Chris Rock and Eddie Murphy, both of those guys are also capable of GOAT status if they get into fighting shape. The news cycle of the present day seems perfect for them to come back and bring the heat.

Jerry Seinfeld's released enough specials, we're pretty set with him. But it's been a long while since Rock was doing specials, and obviously Eddie hasn't done anything for decades but now he's thinking of getting back in

    [Article: https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/seahawks/how-could-a-potentially-shortened-nfl-preseason-impact-the-seahawks/]

    [Larger pic here: https://postimg.cc/14dcrpzk ]

You can tell the fan on the left in the Bills jersey is wearing a Seahawks hat in the larger pic above or in the article link above.

A number of things first went through my mind when I saw this:

    1. It must have been Buffalo at Seattle. That is the logical explanation of why the fan is wearing a Bills jersey at CenturyLink. Then I realized the caption said it was actually Oakland at Seattle in 2019.

    2. The jersey that looks like a Bills jersey must be some kind of weird throwback jersey Seattle has. Nope.

    3. The fan is incredibly cheap. He must have bought the Lynch jersey on clearance after he was traded away from Buffalo. [I remember buying a Terrell Owens jersey in Philly on clearance for $1 after he went to Dallas--but I didn't go to Dallas wearing a Philadelphia jersey.]

    4. How did that guy make it out alive after wearing a Bills jersey there?

    5. The guy looks stupid AF in a Bills jersey and a Seahawks hat.

It's also possible he's just a fan of both teams. Maybe he's from Buffalo and his wife is from Seattle, he lives in Seattle and likes the Seahawks as his NFC team. Maybe this is his way of saying he's rooting for both teams overall, but the Bills moreso, as he's in their jersey.

I don't think Seattle fans are hostile to visiting fans. They're generally chill relative to any NFL fan. I wouldnt want Bills fans to be hostile to a guy wearing a Seahawks jersey/Bills hat in Buffalo, yknow? Teasing I guess but not like "how would they make it out of there"
