Great, found a deal on a carcinogen.  Maybe next we can find some cheap asbestos.

He's not going to show a poor attitude in camp, how stupid do you think he is?  It's once the injustice of Coleman getting more game time than Claypool starts to materialize, then the locker room cancer starts to form.  Various forms of this cancer have followed Claypool through his travels.

We just had major surgery to clear the Diggs virus so forgive some of us for being a little jumpy when they introduce a toxin into the locker room

This is so overdramatic for a guy who stands to make essentially a vet minimum salary.  He has zero leverage to "be a cancer" at any point in training camp or the regular season.

He's a big, fast guy with good hands. Are you trying to say that the Bills should be more invested in character than athletic ability? It's been one of the major criticisms of the Bills since McD took over.

  2. There's no real pressure either way with Claypool, and I think that's the best thing about the signing. The Bills have made practically zero investment, so they can wash their hands of him if they don't like him or his attitude in camp.  It's the definition of a low-risk high-reward, and it's exactly who you want in a training camp.

I think it's funny some of the people I hear against the Claypool signing are also Justin Shorter truthers.

  3. The nepotism in the NFL is wild.

Don't get me wrong, nepotism is everywhere. It's amazing that a guy like Hackett, who should be an OC of a D3 football team at this point, is still getting chances. He basically destroyed the Broncos franchise.

  4. Claypool... I don't hate it.

He's the living embodiment of low risk / high reward.  He has every physical tool to succeed, he just needs to put in the effort.  I doubt that this is his wake up call, but if it is he'll be home run.

I still want a more "sure thing" roster lock, but this is excellent competition or at the very worst, practice squad depth.

Davis has 20 career drops and 18 career interceptions against him.  Whilst some of those are in no way his fault (Josh forcing the ball or just throwing in his general direction), a goodly number are balls he got his hands on but didn't complete the catch, or that ricocheted off his hands.

It didn't help that he picked the opposite option route that Allen was looking for so consistently. That might have been the single most frustrating part of his game to me.

Remember that time Allen got called for grounding because Davis chose the wrong route?  Has that ever even happened to any other QB in the modern NFL?

That’s a heck of a dream you had last night. Congrats.

I don't think that unrealistic at all, honestly.

Allen has had MVP buzz ever since 2020.  Last season he didn't get it due to turnovers. I expect his TOs to drop now that Gabe Davis isn't on the team and Coleman is.

10-12 wins is where they've been right around every season since 2020.

The last two playoff matchups against the Chiefs has gone to the wire. They're not significantly better than us, despite what the agitated fanbase here is going to tell you.

  7. - Bills go 12-5, Allen gets a MVP because the narrative is that they took away his weapons and they still were very successful.

    - Aaron Rodgers breaks down (physically, but probably mentally too), Jets win 7 games.

    - The Patriots get a Wildcard spot

    - Miami falls apart as the offense is found out, but they continue to beat up on bad teams. Tua is still signed to a 45+ Million a year contract.

    - Bills get to the AFC championship, beating the Chiefs in the divisional round.

I seriously doubt anyone would be worried about this if we had drafted BTJ instead of Coleman.

If there were "tell all" analytics that could be used to accurately predict NFL success then we wouldn't have debates about who is the better prospect.

I certainly hope that Allen was not involved in this pick.   That is not his job.   If the Bills picked Coleman because Allen wanted him then Beane definitely needs to be fired.  My guess is that the involvement by Allen was prefunctory, sort of like King Charles officially has to approve all legislation before it becomes law.

Coleman fits the high ceiling low floor profile of most early round Beane picks.  Except for the 40 time, he is a freakish athlete whose college stats are not super impressive.  Examples include Allen, Edmunds, Brown, Knox, Elam, and Rousseau.  They are betting on  that can teach him to separate in the pros. Hopefully they are right.

You don’t want your all star QB to give feedback on what receivers he thinks would make him the most successful? You think it’s so bad, in fact, that the GM should be fired for listening to his most valuable asset?

Sorry, I just don’t see the logic.

Allen is probably sick of his receivers not coming down with 50/50 balls, that's probably why he loves Coleman. Think about the shot he took to Gabe Davis in game 1 against the Jets last year, right through his hands. Think about the Diggs play against KC in the playoffs, right through his hands.

This is where I'm at with the pick. It seems like Allen had a lot of influence on who he thought would fit best into this new Brady offense, so I'm going to defer to him and trust that they've made a good decision.

Time will tell but I can't pretend to know better than Josh freakin' Allen about WRs.

  11. I think we'd all be sleeping a little easier if we got Josh another weapon, which I have to imagine they'll be evaluating post June 1 when they have some more cap available.

It's not as dire as the OP is making it out to be. Coleman is a big unknown, but it's the guy Allen thought could best help him, so you've got to trust him on that.

It depends on what one thinks of Diggs the second half of last year.  He fell off a lot.

I expect a move when Tre’s $$ frees up after June 1.  There’s a lot of disgruntled veteran WRs out there.

You aren’t wrong about Diggs, but he’s still a known quantity over a rookie who has never played an NFL snap.

Post June 1 makes sense. If we pull off a blockbuster trade for an Aiyuk or similar, we instantly have one of the best WR cores in the NFL.

If we sign a Michael Thomas or similar, we’re definitely “good enough” in my eyes, but still behind where we should be.
